Where I Purchased - It was a little under a 3 hour round trip to grab this bad boy. I was on the fence but he knocked off another $100, to $500, so I jumped.
Bought it off a nice gentleman that was moving.
Price Paid - $500
Condition - 75% (not included in the Average Guy Hi-Fi score)
The cabinet is in good shape but not perfect. The grill has some cat claw snags and the cloth is pulling off the wood frame a little, should be an easy fix.
I’m a dummy and dropped a cable cord, swapping in the SR7013 and put that ding in the woofer. I was heartbroken:/ I’m usually very careful with the gear I’m reviewing so this sucked.
Quality - 9.0
Heavy cabinet, powerful amplifier and a stout woofer, definitely a high quality piece of equipment. My back can attest.
Bass - 9.5
I’ve had some pretty impressive subs through here recently so I’m getting pretty spoiled but this F15HP raises the performance bar even more.
I’ve always been a fan of sealed subs. Not that there’s anything wrong with ported subs, my favorite sub has been a ported sub, but in small rooms like this, sealed is what I prefer.
As loud and as deep as I’d really ever need in this room. It found rattles that I thought I had long solved for.
It’s a beast!
MSRP Rating - 8.5
It’s not cheap, coming in at $1,282 but it has the performance to back up it’s price point and more when compared to the high end brands like JL Audio, Martin Logan etc.
Aesthetics - 8.5
There’s really no frills or anything, when it comes to the looks department but in a good way.
Being a 15” driver, in a well designed box, it needs to be pretty large. This sub actually does a pretty good job of not drawing attention to it’s self, which is a good thing.
Price Paid Value - 8.5
The condition issues, especially after I dropped that darn cable, definitely come into play here. It just isn’t mint, which is important to many in this hobby.
Getting a current subwoofer from such a highly respected subwoofer manufacturer like Rythmik, under 1/2 the MSRP, is always a great thing.
This is still an amazing deal, especially if performance is your first criteria.
Final thoughts -
I don’t know if I have ever owned a subwoofer that is this “compact” and had this kind of performance and that’s really saying something.
Dual F15HP subwoofers in an average sized room will provide you with more low than you’ve likely ever experienced. At least from most subs available in the average store, around this price range.
Well done Rythmik!
