S1 S21- Custom Kitchen Oak Shelf 

Brilliant mate. Watching that was like "wood therapy". Really relaxing and some nice little challenges to overcome. You need a lathe by the way...that would take care of all those "dealing with small circular parts" issues. You could have chucked that circular part and rounded over the ends safely and without wobble. In fact, you could have done the central drilling while it was in the chuck too by installing a drill chuck on the tailstock side with the morse taper. Once its centred, all subsequent operations (like taking the sharp edges off) would remain wobble free and an absolute doddle. You could even have stained it still chuck mounted. Time you bought a mini lathe that can be moved off the worktop once used. They're cheap as chips and you'd love it. :-) But lathe or not...that was a delightful canter through how to do home DIY with some serious quality :-) That shelf is probably unavailable to purchase through any store. Oak, fitted discreet towel rail and bespoke to the space....bloomin' poetry old sport :-)
