In a debate about children's mental health, I raised concerns about how groups pushing extreme ideologies in schools - contrary to Department for Education guidelines - are putting our children in danger.
Superb speech. I've seen the impact of this ideology on a family friend's child and it's absolutely terrifying. She's 14 and her life is on the brink of ruin. Keep up the excellent work, Miriam!

Very concerning trend being pushed worldwide. Thank you for highlighting it. Shocking increase! And children should NEVER be encouraged to keep things secret from their parents, much less something as serious as this! Dialogue should be encouraged.
HMG is not enforcing it's 'Statutory Guidelines' because it's quivering with fear at being 'phobed' like just about the rest of the country. This paralysis of fear has to be broken or what's coming very soon is abolition of the age of consent.

Send the link to the BBC Nolan Investigates Stonewall to your MP and ask them to listen to the findings of this very informative and well researched investigation into the lobbying practices of Stonewall and it's impact on the safeguarding of children and young people.

I am losing my child to this; I know it is not the right path (I wouldn't have a problem if I thought it was the right thing) but I am powerless and heartbroken.

Thank you so much for raising these safeguarding issues. Our Duty supports the families affected by the promotion of gender ideology in schools. The parents we support and represent will be greatly heartened knowing their concerns are getting a proper airing in parliament.
Kindness and tolerance is important, and gender-questioning young people need understanding and support. But girls are especially caught up in what seems to be an ideology that can lead to physical mutilation and sterility (look at Keira Bell). It starts with language, and as Miriam Cates says here, teachers should not reinforce a child's notion that their body may be 'wrong'. I've just discovered my child's school use gender ideology to the degree of encouraging use of 'cisgender' and pronouns on badges. This language comes from a lobby group (Stonewall) that no longer centres LGB people (having gained equality under law) but is entrenched with trans activist ideology that flies in the face of biology. I encourage every parent to check what your child's school is subtly indoctrinating our children with!
Thank you Miriam for raising this. These groups seem to be adept at finding ways to wheedle themselves in to seed this ideology with young, suggestible children. Why is there no review or curiosity around the sharp increase?
There is, but researchers who try to get funding to study the growth in girls' so-called transition seem to find their applications for funding are not successful. Not hard to work out why. I recommend 'Trans' by Helen Joyce, which is rigorous in its research into the phenomenon.
Helen Joyce is a conspiracy theorist who believes rich jews are trying to "trans" children to destroy white christian civilisation. She's a nutcase with a bookcase.
Thank you for being brave enough to speak up and risk the threats from the gender activists. I too am a desperate mother who has lost a child to this. My child is now an adult and it is too late for help but please save so many of the other children who are being caught up in this cult.
Thank you for this excellent speech particularly highlighting the genuine crisis amongst our teenage girls in part caused by the promotion of gender ideology theory which is taking advantage of their wish to reject misogyny and objectification. Alongside a historical disregard for the medical and sexual health of women and girls this situation has become a serious threat to the current wellbeing of school children with the potential to damage their whole lives.
A brilliant speech. One of the few standing up for the wellbeing of our children. It is actually sexual corruption withing schools. We shouldn't have to leave our children in these atmospheres created inside schools. Thank God that someone is a last speaking out about this.
'science'? we've learnt that 'the science TM' is whatever the establishment wants it to be. They achieve that by setting their regulators on anyone or organisation who has reasonable yet contrary opinions.
Thank you for a dose of reality. These children need more grounded and protective people in power to take an interest in what is being done to them. Brava Miriam for having courage and sense and speaking up to stop this off the rails train.
