Wow, now that was an amazing day! Up before dawn to go check out the Yintayin rock shelter on Stanley Island, traditional homeland of the Aba Yalgayi. They lived around this area for at least 6000 years and got moved away from their land during WW2. They left behind some stunning rock art, best I've ever seen.
We then sailed 60nm in varied conditions and ended the day on a perfect little sand cay all alone in the middle of no-where.
During the middle of the day we were sailing through some unusually thick Algae streams and out of interest I threw up the drone and was blown away by what I saw!
One of the resulting images is so good that I decided to offer it to you guys as a fine art print. The image will be printed on the highest quality archival cotton paper and be hand numbered and signed by me. There will only be 10 of each size so this is super limited edition. Contact me at info@vernondeck.com to order.
I've put a lot more time into this edit than I normally do and think its come out well. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it too.
Thanks for watching

Great drone filming, I really like your take on the high-contrast algae photo prints (No wall), and the one tree island shot taking the whole island and trade runner was the winner for me, it looked like a splash of color of an abstract painting Just lovely. Out of your filming was the historical Aboriginal rock painting of the European ships, must have been a shock and strange for them to witness the white man's arrival, as it was for me to see this footage. As always, worth the wait and definately a delight to absorb. Your image is INSANE. Just completely OFF THE CHART. So love that image through the algae/spawn. Truely an incredible capture. 🤸🙏🤞👏👏👏. Well done Vernon, amazing to think all the fancy gear you've undoubtedly used... a drone, right light, capture... you are the man!. Congrats

Now this is what I was originally going to watch until I saw you and Marie live. It was awesome seeing and asking you both questions and getting bloody replies. Now on with this video which I am sure it is well worth the wait. Oka all watched and again a terrific video. John was a great sailing mate. That algae video was awesome and I think I should get a photo cuse I liked and commented on all of your video's I've seen LOL. Enjoy France and the new beginning's of parenthood for the both of you. Looking forward to upcoming videos of the new family.

I feel it is. YT algorithm doesn't agree though. A bit depressing really. Seems like only fake drama or tits&ass works for big views.

Bloody hell Vernon what a killer episode mate. The rock art you showed is extremely moving, what a joyful sail and amazing fate to have such perfect conditions for you to capture Tradie breezing through the algae bloom. If I had a house I’d hang that print on my wall no doubt, it’s a winner mate. Felt like I was there with you at one tree having sun downers. So stoked mate. Yew!

Thanks mate, stoked you liked this one. Its the worst performing video we've had in the last 4 months so either your(and ours) taste is bad or we're doing something to upset the algorithm. Any tips?
@Thenewkidsonthedock
@Thenewkidsonthedock 9 месяцев назад
Far out that’s unusual Vernon. I don’t have any tips as I struggle to understand myself, if your audience is enjoying it I consider that a success. From our minimal experiance the algorithm seems to ebb and flow, just not sure what with!

Thanks for another great video, I’ve been watching your mad dash since we met at Airlie. Great to see how well your cat is going and all the pain from the collision is behind you. The rock art was fantastic and I loved the photo from the drone of the algae. I’m thinking of getting a drone for Xmas and would like to know what drone you have and what you would recommend and how on earth do you land it on the yacht. Cheers from Dean on Live Louder 😊
@SailingLearningByDoing
@SailingLearningByDoing 10 месяцев назад
Thanks Dean. A drone is a good thing to have on a boat for sure. I've crashed a few though so dont get emotionally attached to it. I currently have the DJI mini 3 pro. Its a pretty good drone, the smallest one Ive ever had but it works very well even in 20kts wind. You need to get comfortable hang catching the drone. practise this on land a lot before on the boat. Also practise flying from the boat at anchor before trying to fly it while under way. good luck

@VernonDeckLearningByDoing I haven't seen anything in about 3 years man. I actually forgot all about you until one of your shorts popped up. Wreck Dec 2020. Was a hell of a hit. I have memory loss and neck and back. But, after surgeries, I'll be sailing the world again and never coming back to land life . I haven't been on the drink in over 3 years. Year of surgeries and recovery and I should be good to go. Looking forward to catching up on what you've been up to. Hope all is well.

@@e3754 ah shit, sounds nasty! We’ll, hope you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve had more than my fair share of injuries so I feel ya. I’m in France right now, back sailing in January

@VernonDeckLearningByDoing thanks brother. Daily pain, but the unable to do stuff is worse than pain. No worries, shhit happens and many people have more problems than I ever will. At least the guy who hit me was drunk and in a company truck. I sold my sailboat not long after wreck and the next will be an upgrade. 🤣 stay safe man.
