Sailor Moon English 1st Opening & Ending 

I don't care what anybody says. I still get goosebumps of excitement hearing this song just like I did when I used to watch it on Toonami back in the day.

I remember the ending even more than the opening! xD So nostalgic.. And people say this song is cheesy but honestly it sounds pretty wicked cool and goosebump-inducing for its time. It sounds like just the perfect type of catchy song you'd call modern and cool back in the 90's or late 80's.

I remembered renting the double feature VHS at Blockbuster Video a few years ago DiC's Sailor Moon is the best children's animated series of the 90s ©1995 Buena Vista Home Video

The opening is fine, but the original ending theme is probably the best ending theme ever. Too bad they just slapped the opening theme again.

Sailor Moon is A good series Tv show that I used to watch when I was A kid..

This show and all three Dragon Ball shows are a huge part of my life and many others too. This is true anime at its finest I'm praying for it to return to television one day

Gives me tingles hearing it to this day!! I can still remember how excited I felt every single I time I heard this song before a new episode of my favorite show. Waking up for school was a drag, but waking up at 6am for Sailor Moon!? Totally worth it!

S.M. 1995 CANADIAN ENGLISH translation was performed in Toronto Ontario , and the first translation was just very different. Because most Superheroes were obviously men, with most women as either sidekicks, or frail helpless victims like the classic "Damsel - in- Distress". BUT...SAILOR MOON BROKE THE MOLD!!!!! With the unusual combination of a young girl, and teenager in high school with very bad grades, but bullied by other students and teachers and parents for the bad grades. But she tries really hard to keep up her spirits. Which is exactly what makes her SO relatable with modern teens who are going through these exact same emotions when they start to grow up. BUT...SUDDENLY...Luna the cat finds her to tell her that she must suddenly fight the evil forces of the Negaverse. But she is totally untrained. And literally thrown into a fierce battle against a horribly ugly creature that is out to kill its victims. And also Kill her too!!!!! But, how else would this sweet, innocent child react, but to cry hysterically!!!!! Then just as the monster is about to strike her.....a mysterious hero arrives to save her. And now Luna tells her how to throw her Tiara to destroy that monster. And the Mysterious Hero gives her advice and encouragement to carry on. But since the battle occurred at late 🌙 night, naturally she is 😩 exhausted. And still goes to school. And promptly goes back to sleep. Even though she gets teased by her classmates, but it is still bullying. Then she has to fight yet more and more monsters!!! How will she ever survive all this pressure?? By reading comics and Manga, and playing video games, and eating more comfort food. But, the other TV heroes are the very best at 100%. Yet, Serena seems to be at the very end of the line. So, how do the Canadian writers, and voice actresses, try to translate this character who is so unique??

I'm so sick of hearing people say how much they hate this dub! What do you expect? It was the 90's! I personally love the dub, even though I know it's terrible. This show is one of the biggest reasons I am an anime fan today, and I look back with no regrets!

Haha, I remember this being on Toonami along with Johnny Quest and DBZ. I'd come home every day and it would be on while I was doing my home work. I never understood what was going on though. xD

The Real Things that make the Sailor Moon English opening theme so epic, is the Choreography of the many clips, and keep it in time to the 8 beat rhythm, because most of the clips are easily recognized from each episode. But some clips are from the non-translated episodes. Like near the start, when Serena is running to Darien against the background of the famous "STARRY NIGHT" by Vincent Van Gogh. But we in the U.S.A. didn't get that episode in syndication after 1995. Nor on the U.S.A. CABLE NETWORK. Nor on CARTOON NETWORK with blocks like TOONAMI, OR. RISING SUN AT LATE NIGHT But we had to wait nearly 19 years until 2014 for the VIZ version on Blue Ray. Then we got to see these lost episodes like, the Shaneera Pets. The Jazz piano player. The Fortune teller and Melvin. And the Sailor V back story in London. But it is fun to listen to those in Japanese, then try and imagine how the DIC cast members. And the new writers, might have translated, and put in dialogue with 1990s slang, and references. The Executive director was Mr. ANDY HEYWARD, who was also responsible for other hits like INSPECTOR GADGET. Plus DIC had a master storyteller in Mr. Fred Ladd, who is very famous for introducing ASTROBOY back in 1964 on N.B.C. during early black and white. Thus after 30 years. SAILORMOON was a striking change in Brilliant COLOR!!!!! God bless their 💕 hearts!! Sun., Sept. 12, 2021, A.D.

Man this takes me back - I used to watch this all the time when it was on Fox Kids here in the UK. Dunno why, but the credits themselves makes me chuckle for a couple reasons - primarily for listing the people behind the Japanese score when it was replaced, and because DIC put their production copyright after their logo rather than before it.

I love this opening~! It's so much better than the original opening. ^^ Really sad, though... In the spot where Mamoru/Darrien takes off the stupid mask and Usagi/Serena splits in two, you can still see the curve of Luna's back. xD It's horrible. lol

Yeah. I'm sure 8 to 10 years from now, our kids are going to be looking up the old naruto/one piece openings and talking about how THOSE were the greatest animes of their childhoods. We're getting old youtubers. :)

You got toonami playin the amines in the afternoon then later on, it's "CARTOON, CARTOON FRIDAYS" on Friday nights!!!!! #thosewerethedays

I prefer the Japanese version now, but I still appreciate this version very much because it's what exposed me to Sailor Moon to anime in general. So I still have lots of love for it. ^___^

I miss Nineties cartoons, Nineties anime (I am Asian, figures) and the Ninteties in general. Sadly, today's kids cartoons stink compared to the ones from the early and mid '90s. I miss 1992 and 1995. =( They better put this on DVD!

lol..ya my mom had a daycare too....sssooo i am now very grateful that it was naptime during this show. i wouldve hated not being able to watch it. my mom didnt think it was appropriate for the kids and she wanted me to make sure there was no kids still awake. she didnt want the parents to hate her and hav em think she was letting the kids watch bad shows.....so ya ^^

I'm pretty sure Sailor Moon is just as good as Naruto or whatever the shit kids are watching today. People are age watching Sailor Moon at the time were probably like WTF? That said, Sailor Moon is badass and I love it. As cool as the Japanese openings are, I'll always have a soft spot for the English one.

The one thing about Sailor moon is that when we were young we used to watch cartoons with adult situations and real storylines In Japan cartoons like Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, Tenchi Muyo etc was for young adults but when it was shipped to North America they watered it down and marketed to the kids because they beleive that adults wouldn't watch cartoons like this.

in spanish the song goes the way the japanese wrote it and its very different. but i still love it, in spanish, english, japanese, or watever. Sailormoon forever. im going to be 14 and i still love it!!!

Sorry Pandapinay101, but this is not the 1st opening of Sailor Moon, it's the second because the original english opening only had Sailor Moon, Mars and Mercury.

I love the music and Opening of Sailor Moon, But the only thing that I couldnt understand why did they put that thing on 1:03 or 1:04??? I mean it doesnt mean anything in the story of Sailor Moon and it doesnt appear in the original japanese opening.
