this was the sleeper hit of nightmare before christmas. danny elfman said this song was kind of a random throwaway and they didn't think it would be popular at all. it's possibly one of the top 3 songs in the movie! with the most emotion and longing. sally is an amazing character. i love how she is so selfless with her love and care. she does it for jack, not expecting anything in return.
That's a surprise to learn considering her musical motif is all over the score of the film. It even opens the film, and the final duet between Jack and Sally is sung to her melody. But yeah, definitely a top 3 song from the film.
You get her voice so perfectly that for a moment I thought I was listening to the official song. I also loved Sally in the classic art style too. Thank you so much, it's one of my favorite Halloween movies.
This is my young autistic daughter's favorite films AND our whole family loves your music....so...Wow...Thank you!!! What a gift. I can't wait for her to hear this in the morning.
I grew up watching this movie and I’ve always had such a soft spot for this song. Your voice is beautiful with this melody, it’s haunting yet comforting at the same time. Loved this so much!
Forever amazed by Hildegard's voice 🙏 My life to see Hildegard do the entire Nightmare before christmas soundtrack! I'd love to see how she'd handle a song like What's This.
An already beautifully haunting song done justice by your magnificent voice. This song surprisingly needs no bardification beyond the instrumental and it was done quite well. Many thanks for sharing your talent with us ❤
As always, great work! It’s very unfortunate that October started with the announcement of the passing of Ken Page, the voice actor for Oogie Boogie, but it’s great to see that the love for the film he starred in is as strong as ever. RIP, and I’m sure that he and the rest of the cast would have loved your cover.
Even though this is a lesser known song, it still has a special place in my heart and I absolutely adore your rendition of it. It has a place next to the original.
What an answer to my hopes and dreams! I'm having to re-subscribe to everyone and I've been thinking about you and you just popped up! Thank you so much for Sally's song, as I am Saly Luz. Your voice is amazing! 💙🌻
I once loved The Nightmare Before Christmas. My family all hated it, as so many of the other things I enjoyed. In the past decade I've seen so much mainstream presence and merchandising of the film that it feels cheapened to me. Your cover has reminded me of my quiet and lonely enjoyment, especially with this being my favorite song of the film. The familiar feelings of longing, worry, and unrequited love are somehow, and perhaps unfortunately, comforting, coalesced by your beautiful voice.
Miss Hildegard, I do say that each and every song of yours is amazing. There are many songs that I dislike but your versions are always superb. Exquisitely done madam!
YESSS OMG. This is my fav song from the movie, and it’s slower pace and the scale it uses I thought would absolutely be perfect for you! I WAS RIGHT OMG. This is now my fav vid and it’s only been like 30 secs
YESSSSSSSSS. That said, as one of my other favorite versions of this song is an Amy Lee cover, this is only intensifying my desire for you to cover something like My Immortal or Even in Death.
Have you seen her collab with the Wagakki Band (Japan)? Hands down the best live music video I've ever seen, and my favourite version of Bring Me to Life.
I love how Hildegard von Blingin goes for the heartwarming nostalgia and churns out the hits and feels❤ Some songs don't need any lyrical change to reach perfection❤
but this time the picture isnt from an actual medieval book, is it? for me it looks really like a digital painting. edit: im stupid, its in the description. this channel thinks of everything. huge props
I think you have the most angelic voice I've ever heard. I usually listen to different genres than yours (edm, kpop, metal) but you're so good I got into a whole new genre of music. You're now one of my most played artists on Spotify
My cat suspiciously walked away as I looked at my phone. I screamed "Hildegard!!! " My sweet, poor kitty knew I'll be freaking out 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I love my kitty and I absolutely love this song!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I highly recommend the biopic 'Vision: From the Life of Hildegard von Bingen' to everyone. She was really an incredible woman, and the cinematography is on-point 👌🏻👌🏻
