Harpooner Heathcliff is a core character in a team revolving around Middle Don. My friend lovingly calls it "Team Purpl" because you just spam massive amounts of Envy and she blows everything up.

yeah Kim Meursault is kinda the strongest id in the game rn so honestly if you're gonna be using him at this point the game will get pretty easy, basically think about it as if you got Purple tear page, and went all the way back to fight like Pierre and jack with it

Hey, Foreman, just letting you know - absolutely nothing embarrassing about losing to the Kurokumo Captain. Because hoooooolyyyyy SHIT Project Moon balance moment - that fight, especially on higher floors, is in my opinion currently the hardest thing in the game. If you get to do Hard Dungeons while the event is still going on - for the love of god, avoid that fight on floors 4 and 5 like the plague. I had a run that was able to decimate every final boss, including the current event's one, but that fight took me like 20 minutes to clear without losing anyone.

So about Heathcliff IDs Harpooner is very powerful. With Cptn. Ishmael and Bamboo-Hatted Meursault? Just. F***ing. Insane. Sunshower tho? Well... * *Deep sigh* * Well!... * *Even deeper sigh* * ...I mean, he looks SUPER cool but good luck making him work.

its not clear whether or not you know this (it personally took me until the end of canto 3 to realize this which at the time was the final playable story of limbus), but the rolls of skills are shown in an identity's info tab the number to the left of the skill's icon shows the base power (aka the power it starts with without hitting any heads) the number above shows the coin power which comes into play when the identity hits heads having a plus before the coin power value means hitting heads will be benificial and raise the skill's final power, whereas a minus means the skill loses final power for hitting heads this makes sunshower heathcliff really want to not clash this also makes it fairly easy to calculate a skill's max roll. for example, mentor meursault's skill 2, acupuncture, has a base power of 2 and a coin power of 5. it has 3 coins, so hitting all heads makes it roll a 2+5+5+5 which equals 17

Also, don't worry about having your opinion on Outis soured by how dismissive she is at anyone beside Dante. One of my friend hated her to death for that specific reason

Yield My Flesh is unique in that you are encouraged to lose the clash, which is why it is a minus coin. You can read what happens after in the defence skill tab. To Claim Their Bones is also an overwhelmingly powerful skill at uptie IV.

Ahab mael pairs really well with the blade lineage since they already use a lot of pride abs resonanance and all of them want to use their skill ones. Also helps that outis sucks so much that you lose very little by replacing her

as of outis, i do find her being so harsh and callous more interesting because if every sinner so far has had one big regret (for gregor it was either participating in the smoke war or deserting and leaving the other soldiers to die, for rodion it was trying to help her neighbors just for them to get killed, for sinclair it was falling to peer pressure and letting kromer kill his family) and then we have outis who is so quick to dismiss any sort of concern or fear, no matter how rational, which just leads me to wonder what could she have done that she regrets so badly as to join limbus company as a sinner, but i can understand how her attitude as the game progresses makes her less appealing to others, i actually enjoy a lot seeing why some characters click with some people and why some just dont as of canto 4, i think its a weird chapter narratively wise and not only because of the pacing, but because you have all these great character moments that either show genuine growth or give interesting hints as of the issues with each sinner and exposes some very interesting ethical dilemmas like the chicken situation or the issue with the robots and k corp staff which serve both to make people see the extent of how fucked the society in the city is but also as you said, having people like me who are ok eating meat going "ok yeah this shit's fucked up this is not what i'd sign up for when buying meat", but then has some plot points that feel... extremely akward to me (id rather not give specific examples of what i mean so it doesnt affect any perception of the plot of this chapter until you complete it)

Having recently finished Canto IV, Dear God I cannot WAIT to see what you think of this story. It's so incredibly good. And yet I'm only like halfway through Canto V and... It just. Gets. Better. Also, hoping you get Yi Sang's Spicebush ID. It's rather Ideal.

I don't know if my memory is false or smth but those robots used to be so strong and has so much HP I needed to pull for Rodion ID to get through

On a side note from the story or gameplay, i love the battle music of this canto.

From having no 000 Heath IDs to having 2, and those 2 being the worst Heath ID and (possibly) the best Heath ID respectively makes it even more surprising. Truly, the luck curve is vertical lmao Grinding for all of these IDs to make em useable tho, now that's gonna be a hassel. I bet you can farm while doing Foreman Talks recordings in the background, maybe even use the farming footage as background footage~? In any case, i hope it doesn't get too harrowing. I recommend focusing on a specific team idea, go for a BL team, can't go wrong with it now that you have Kimsault, man is 99% of the power of the entire Blade Lineage ID line tbh

You got really lucky with your pulls this time. 4 blade lineage + captain Ish and harpooner Heath is probably the strongest version of the team. Ideally you would have Faust with Meursault, Yi Sang and Don though

So, a key detail about Kurokumo Hong Lu that's not seen at base Uptie level: Cloud Cutter is probably one of the best skills (in my experience) in the game. It only has two coins, BUT. At higher upties, it gets to reuse coins. Those reused coins have all the same properties, too. So a fairly decent two coin skill becomes a BEAST of a 4 coin skill. The only real downside is that it only triggers against enemies with low bleed. But if you can get all 4 coins against a staggered foe, they will MELT, and the bleed amount you can proc with the right EGO gifts is insane.

Physically painful when you brought BL Outis to UT4. She is widely considered the worst ID in the game. Her support passive is actually pretty good though. I invested a lot in her too, as I needed her to get the sweet BL buffs. Of course it doesn't matter that much. Looking forward to seeing you get through the story. You are taking your time a lot more then I did. I bumrushed the story finishing it at manger level 28 or so lol. I struggled so much at the Canto IV difficulty wall, and Canto V had so painful moments. You should have much smoother sailing.

If you think middle don is crazy (on a non-envy team), I can't wait to see when you upgrade mentor and harpooner lol.

Sunshower Heathcliff is a very unique ID that takes a lot more effort to use than most other ID's for middling results in a team however, he is actually one of the best and most consistent soloing units in them game and if have Ya Sunyatta you can just spam corrode by lowering your SP making him actually quite easy to use. Harpooner Heathcliff is significantly more viable in a team and is also a very good solo unit that generally takes left effort but is slightly less consistent than sunshower in solo.

With bl mersault bl yi sang becomes God, and bl outis becomes decently good

Speaking of your resources though, if you want to know the chapters current limits, I believe we still didn't have uptie 4 yet and the level limit was 35 until Intervello 4.5. So you should roughly be able to do just fine with your sinners at Lv20~Lv30 for most of the chapter if you're worried about your tickets and threads. Don't feel bad about losing to Kurokumo Captain Jun by the way, he's currently the hardest fight in the game for most people. Also, Hod clone Shrenne is here!

ID review~ Kurokumo Clan Wakushu Hong Lu: Kurokumo Clan Hong Lu is... eh? He clashes absurdly poorly, which doesn't fit his role as a damage-dealer, and as a bleed character he actively despises Count. The reason for this is his Skill 2, Cloud Cutter, which can hit FOUR TIMES totalling a maximum Coin value when dealing damage of 22. The problem? He needs less than 4 Bleed Count. So as a damage-dealer, he clashes poorly meaning he can't get hits in consistently, and as a Bleed Character he prefers if you self-sabotage. His Slash damage is great, especially on his S2, but his role is just... weird. He can still work, obviously, but he's trying to put his feet in both worlds and sabotaging himself at both. Blade Lineage Mentor Meursault: Absolutely broken. That's it, that's all I need to tell you: There's along and very detailed preamble that could be given about why he's good, but I'll simplify it: He clashes amazingly, makes the entirety of Blade Lineage (sans Outis and one other ID) stupid good, and his S3 can very casually do 1000 damage if given the right setup. Put him on a team with BL Yi Sang, and you'll feel the strength he brings to the roster. Put him on a Pride Resonance team, and he becomes even better, because all of a sudden they're getting extra coin power AND damage due to his Buff "Swordplay of the Homeland". He's just... really, really good. I would recommend making him a permenant fixture on your team next to Captain Ishmael and BL Yi Sang since they pair incredibly well due to Assist Attack and just... Poise. So, so much Poise.

Review, attempt 2, because youtube deleted my first attempt. Sigh. Kurokumo Clan Wakushu Hong Lu: He's mediocre. Trying to play the role of both a damage-dealer and a Bleed unit, he succeeds at neither. His damage is mediocre and his clashing is as well, and the main damaging skill he has, his S2, is reliant on having 4 or less Bleed Count. As a Bleed Identity. Bringing him along is alright, he's not exactly unusable and can still produce results if you put him in the right environment for it, but in terms of team-building he struggles to really check any of the boxes you'd want to pick him for. Blade Lineage Mentor Meursault: Broken would be an understatement, when it comes to describing how good he is. To cut long story very, very short, BL Meursault clashes very well and buffs Blade Lineage units with his passive, which is that at 3 Pride Resonance he just... gives Poise Potency and Count like candy, which fixes the biggest problem with the faction as a whole: Their abysmal Poise generation. This, mixed with the fact that all of Blade Lineage have Poise-based Coin Power buffs, means that he has given the whole group a leg up. This isn't factoring in the fact his passive just tosses Coin Power bonuses out to all BL allies, AND that the two buffs he applies with his S1 and S2 give bonus Final Power as well, which basically is just +1 to all rolls regardless of if you flip heads or tails. And then there's his S3... which leads into To Claim Their Bones, which can very casually deal 1000~ HP. He's good. If I had to give teambuilding recommendations, Mentor Meursault, Captain Ishmael and the rest of Blade Lineage (sans Outis and 1 other ID) make a fantastic combo. Sunshower Heathcliff: The second full-Negative Coin ID to be released, and... he's considerably weaker than Sinclair. Instead of Sinclair's flat sanity loss on skill use, he instead gains Sinking. This means he has the option of nuking his SP... but the SP management is considerably harder. He also clashes like complete ass- A 6 maximum Skill 1 is horrendous, a 10 maximum S2 is atrocious, and the only good part is the S3. This ID is not build to clash, obviously: So use him for One-sided attacks. That basically means you should never use him in non-focused encounters, as those will be really the only times he can truly shine without being very questionable. The Pequod Harpooner Heathcliff: A staple of Envy-based teams, and a very good pair with a Blade Lineage team. The values are rather standard: 11 rolling S1, 16 rolling S2, 16 rolling S3. The good part of this kit comes from the conditionals for Coin Power, which are all Envy Resonance based. This means the value on his S3 can spin rapidly out of control if you let it, which pairs VERY nicely with Middle Don Quixote and "A Just Vengeance", or more specifically the Counter version. He also pairs very well with Captain Ishmael, and also his passive gives him more damage output the more damaged he is, meaning that at times you can just... suddenly toss out 99% extra damage if Heathcliff is critically low. It's amazing, and I wholeheartedly recommend using him, especially alongside a full-Pequod or a mix BL-Pequod team. Blade Lineage Salsu Don Quixote: A very consistent ID with some decent value on her coins, that only gets better with Poise Conditionals means that she's pretty solid. This, of course, is... secondary to her main role: Which is a Poise battery. If you pair her up with any Ids who do not get enough Poise and are not from the Blade Lineage, she can help supplement their Poise gain, which... is great, genuinely speaking. Putting her together with Pequod Harpooner Heathcliff, for instance, means he can crit a lot more consistently, so if you go for a Poise team there's no real reason not to bring her along.

Outis is one of those topics where supplementary material could give some more insight. It's not confirmed yet, but there's been hints that she might, uh, be connected to a character you may have read about in passing while playing Ruina, though not in a main episode of your playthrough...

I really want to see you do RR3 or something. It'd be a long time from now, but I sure think it'd be fun as hell- especially because struggling Foreman is funnier than winning Foreman.

Ah, KK Lu, the king of overrated. Once hailed by many as the greatest ID on launch, because his S2 dishes out a shitload of damage on enemies with next to no bleed (which is a laughably easy condition that it might as well be unconditional). Then we got actual content where enemies don't clash like babies, and people had to realise that his inability to clash above 13 with mediocre offense levels pretty much cripples him. Meursans' support passive can be used for solo runs, or maybe if you don't have all the BL identities. Though the damage reduction from LCB 'sault is usually preferrable. Suncliff is... wonky. The second -coin ID, they overcompensated for N-Sync so he's very undertuned and has a hard time keeping his sanity low. Though he got better with UT4. He is pretty tanky which lends himself pretty well for solo runs, where corrosions are very welcome. Pequod Heath is three gimmicks in a trenchcoat pretending to be an ID. His kit is nowhere near as schizo as Capmael, but it's still near impossible to use his entire kit at once. Pick one aspect, my personal preference is the poise, use him accordingly, and he'll fill an extremely potent DPS tank role for that squad. BL Don is a poise support unit, and that's what makes or breaks her. In a pure poise team, she's what gets the snowball going, and she's fast enough to make it count even on turn 1. On the other hand, if you so much as have a single non-poise ID on the team, all her support will go to that one, wasting her utility.
