Fully enjoyed the 3 part series and it seems like you did as well which is great. Thanks for the photo montage at the end too which adds a deeper insight into the day. Here's to the next tour on Planet Doug :)

Glad you enjoyed it. I'm doing the same thing with the video I shot at the Cu Chi Tunnels. I divided the video up into several shorter pieces. It adds a lot to the time required for editing, and it gets a bit complicated. But I kind of like doing it this way if the experience naturally divides into different sections.

Seems like an Intelligent Tour Guide, that's a plus ... Snake Wine is Rice Wine being Marinated over Snake, mostly Cobra in Mekong area ( ruqu thuoc) 🐍🐍 they also use Dehydrated Geckos & Sea Horses 🐉... Your Photography is Spot On!
@PlanetDoug
@PlanetDoug 4 дня назад
Do you mean that they just make the rice wine as normal. And when the wine is ready, they just pour it into a container with a snake in it? So it doesn't actually ferment with the snake in the liquid?

@@PlanetDoug Many Many Variations that surround Making! .. What I saw in Hanoi was Snake is First cleaned while kept Alive in either water or other Liquids .. Snake is placed in Large Jar Alive and Drowned when filed with Rice Wine ... 'Sometimes' the guy will Drain the blood from the Snake before it goes in and i assume it is added Later "Sometimes".. The Snake is left in Jar for Approx 3 Mths to 'Steep' .. Sometimes Ethanol is added which breaks down down the Venom and absorbs the "Essence" from said Snake and stops it Fermenting .. About 7 K out of Hanoi is the Tourist spot of "Le Mat Snake Village".. About 1000 tourist a day and have 100 Farmers Catching snakes etc .. You like tours now I Believe You will find Hanoi has changed Dramatically .. Assuming its on Your agenda! .. Side Note is My Local dry cleaner is From Hoi An and She informs me that Many variations on the Making and 'Ingredients' 🥵 Also Herbs and Other goodies are Added! 😝😝

RU-vid seems to be getting more and more sensitive. Their automated systems seem to be deleting more comments than before. One aspect of this I dislike is that they don't notify me or the commenter that this happened. RU-vid will simply block or delete a comment, and I have no idea they did it. They also won't tell the person who left the comment. The comment just vanishes or never appears at all. And then, of course, the person who left he comment thinks that the RU-vidr (in this case, me) deleted the comment. Yet, I never even saw it. It often happens to me. When I've written comments on other RU-vid channels, my comments often never show up. And then I don't bother engaging with the RU-vidr and writing comments anymore. In any event, RU-vid is very sensitive to anything to do with snake wine. I noticed that the famous RU-vidr Harald Baldr ran into that recently in Vietnam. He likes to post things that are "shocking", and he posted some videos about this topic and other unusual food, and RU-vid demonetized or blocked the videos. It's happened to a lot of the big food vloggers when they make a video about extreme food or they show the process of making that food.

@@PlanetDoug Yep you are Correct, I have just checked with some of my other RU-vid guys that i watch and they to are of the opinion that it is SO! It is Annoying to say the Least and Yes it was rather long but Factual about the Process that Vietnamese use when making that Particular Wine ... Oh well we live another Day, Thanks for the Update. 😃

Thank you. What do you think about taking a long day like this and dividing the video up into 3 shorter videos? I also have the full length video. I will probably post it simply because I already have it. I might as well do something with it. But I feel a bit better when I'm posting a slightly shorter video. It feels more RU-vidr-friendly. 😃 You're right. The tour cost somewhere around $20 US.

Yes, you're right. It seems a bit hard to believe, even taking into account the local currency and economy, but the tour cost somewhere around $20 US.

You should take a rocket to Vung Tau!
@PlanetDoug
@PlanetDoug 5 дней назад
Is the rocket a specific type of boat? A fast hydrofoil or something like that?
@travelvideos
@travelvideos 5 дней назад
@@PlanetDoug yes. and its very old style and very loud.
@PlanetDoug
@PlanetDoug 3 дня назад
That sounds interesting. I've seen boats on the river that were going to Vung Tau. I didn't look super carefully at them but they struck me as modern and somewhat fancy. I didn't think of them as the type of boat that would make a lot of noise. So this rocket boat must be something else? Do you have any more information about it? It's location, for example. I love an old noisy boat. 🙂

@@PlanetDoug It seems that they don't run anymore. They have upgraded to fancy ones.

I guess I was reading too fast. And I was doing this on a smartphone. I thought you had written $20 in your comment. 😁
