UPDATE: First few days wearing any of these new GW5 series watches, you will notice battery may not last more than 1.5 days. If you look under battery settings it will say "Learning your usage patterns". After 2 days the watch will work as normal, giving you your full battery capacity and the message "Learning your usage patterns" will disappear. I have experienced this with GW4, GW5 and GW5 pro. So initially if you get a rubbish battery life, that is the reason. Just keep using it as normal for a few days and it will resolve itself. Thereafter battery life will be much much better. Hope this clears things.
Samsung is excellent at advertising false claims about battery life and I'm sure this watch will be no different. I'm all in on Sammy, so I'm not a hater. I'm just calling it as I've seen it for over a decade now.

I have a question to ask though - will they discontinue GW4 BT version soon? By that I mean the updates on the GW4 will not be deli by samsung? I still like my old GW 4 BT version it's decent except for battery. I might (just a probability tho) that I'll switch to iPhone during the new year month so I'm kinda avoiding new GW5 at the moment but still concerned about the GW 4 updates by samsung. Use to have the Galaxy Watch 3 never had a smartwatch for a long time. Now i have been doing many outdoor activities like running and cycling i need a watch again. I have been debating between the galaxy watch 6 and galaxy watch 5 pro now after watching your review i think the 5 Pro will better suited for my lifestyle.

For those of you watching this video in the US, the blood pressure monitor and the temperature sensor is not yet available (today's date is 8-20-22). It is manufactured into the watch it's just not made accessible.

Great video Sir ......question ? with smart watches can you wear them on the inside of your wrist vs facing out ? I prefer wearing my watches facing inside. Will the sensors work the same ?
Got mine today pre ordered showed up today was meant to be delivered on the 26th the release day . Lucky me ! Traded in the frontier samsung had a deal on pre order and get £100 for old watch trade in. Not bad tbh for a 6 year old watch . Love the new 5 Pro and you will love it too .
But what about the GPS while walking, running etc? I keep reading bad reviews all over the internet and seeing the discounts on the watches, that is putting me off.

I'm psyched. Can't wait. If you are upgrading your Samsung gear and there's a phone AND watch promo, they goinging to offer the galaxy 5. Heck no, insist on the 5 Pro in the bundle; so instead of the 'free' Gal 5 watch that you aren't really happy with, you get the 5Pro for about $3-$4 extra per month. Never just accept something that's just so so. Speak up and get what makes you happy. ✌. BTW, thank you for this excellent vid. Its very helpful, easy to understand AND entertaining. Nice review and video once again. Love the in depth and how you go through all the specs and more. 👍🏼💪🏼 Having the Galaxy watch 4. Not going to upgrade until I see the Pixel Watch and what it can do when paired with a Pixel phone and hoping for that bezels less look and rounded glass.
As you are waiting for pixel then wait for Versa 4 and Sense 2, they deserve it as they may have Wear OS as well. Another thing, strong rumors say that pixel will have disappointing battery of one day or less each single charge.
Good review in that you helped me decide whether or not to ditch my watch 3. Unless I break or lose my current watch, I'll wait another year to see what they come up with. Watch 5/5 Pro simply isn't worth it if you already have one of their older ones
@@stevester1983 yes I know. Also another pair of Buds. (Got 3 unopened in my house). Still means I spend £200 on something that in my case is no different functionally than my watch 3. Also no bezel, no sale. The current design means I'd leave finger prints all over my watch screen.
Very nice review of the product. I have a question I can't seem to find an answer for though, the frame is made of titanium but what about the back of the watch where the sensors are housed? Is it plastic?

I had to decide between the fantastic rotating (and classy) bezel, or the battery lasting about 3x as long. After a week with both, I reluctantly choose 5pro for the battery life. I do miss the bezel, but I haven't had to charge the watch for days.
I am going to love the virtual bezel. The rotating of the bezel on the original watch jammed and I grew to rapidly hate that feature. It's going to be configuration that's going to be the nightmare, there is so much stuff and ALOT I don't need! Love the full titanium design and sapphire glass. Most importantly is the length of time it can go before needing a charge, the Active 2 was truly terrible, way to short! Recieving my watch very soon and configuration...well that's going to take some time!
My use case is playing offline RU-vid music to bluetooth headphones while tracking an activity via GPS. It's asking a lot of the watch really. The CPU to decode the AAC file for the song, the data stream via bluetooth to the airPods and a data stream (or polling to be more exact) to satellites and processing that data for the activity, not to mention all the body sensor data it's processing in real time. Does the watch have the grunt to do that without music 'skipping' for example?

Not really. Has a bigger battery, upgraded case and screen. But no physical rotating bezel. If you were to get it to replace the watch 4 classic I would say no.
I get over 5 days with my usage on the OG. Most of the stuff (continuous heart rate etc) is gimmicky. I have some FOMO but not enough to buy this watch now. Will wait for the sales. Hopefully the new Tic Watch comes with wireless charging and LTE for Canada.
The watch works well with my S10+ It delivers texts, messages, emails and calls exactly how I want. I work in a noisy environment so this is perfect for my needs and it's set to vibrate while I can keep my phone on silent. I get roughly 2 and a half hours battery life from full charge and that's brilliant. Does what it says on the tin 👍🏾

I'm getting it for Christmas it just came today from Samsung on a PayPal payment plan since I couldn't get it on a payment plan with my phone carrier because they limited the number of devices I can have on my plan but I'll let you know if there's the blood oxygen and the ECG on the watch!!! 🤗⌚️❤️

Any chance you've had enough time with yours to give me just a sentence or two of your experience? I've seen enough to sell me on the 5 Pro, and I am thinking why not get the golf model? I don't particularly like the black/white, but I'm thinking I can overlook that for a free golf caddie app. Plus I'd probably look to replace the strap anyway. I'm assuming that golf caddie app will work for the lifetime of the watch, but wonder if maybe it's an annual subscription and you get the first year up front? You have mentioned it has a Play Store, but you didn’t show it can download applications. I knew before that Samsung Watches cannot download applications, so it was just gossip. Also, complications are not even working because you didn’t show if they're working or not. How can I buy that?
Have you done any more treadmill testing? the last samsung watch i had was a gear sport, and it was abysmal at accurately tracking my running distance on a treadmill. im hoping this is doing a bit better? i know you did a treadmill test in the video, im just curious if it is consistently showing accurate readings compared to the treadmill itself?

Nice video man. Thought about getting this but I like my samsung galaxy watch 4 classic. Just dislike the battery life whixh i don't use a whole lot.. I have the lte version with a data plan on it as well but mainly jusf use my z fold 3 phone.... unless I have my hands full I can swipe up on my watch w my nose if need be. But the main thing.. is there anywhere you can just get the band / bracelet alone from this new watch because my gw4 classic has a 20mm band too. I like the style of ir eventhough I have a million bands from metal to leather to rubber even custom supreme and jordan bands but I like the way this ones built.. thanks man

This is a review was very usefull. I have this watch and I am very happy with it. But I have one big problem, they don't work well with my phone. But that's not the watch's fault but my phone's fault. But otherwise I didn't find any fault. Thank you for this review, it is very good and true. I am very happy to see other similar reviews.
They say a vein runs directly from the heart to the finger on your left hand which is why that's where Engagement/Wedding rings go And most people wear there watch on there left hand just thinking maybe then it would give you a more accurate reading of heart rate etc 🤔
Well actually this is just an ancient myth and tradition. But modern medical research has proven that all our fingers have pretty much the same vasculature or veins running to the heart. Not just that one finger. So your heart rate can be checked on either arm or finger for that matter. When you go hospital they can put an oximeter on any finger. I have actually tested this myself with mutiple smartwatches and I can confirm that both my arms produce exactly the same results for HR.
Thanks for a superb review! I have a watch 4 classic - the dreadful battery life has resulted in it more often than not been left on the side. I know for that reason I need to buy this watch to stay in the Samsung ECO system, of which im not entirely happy with. I actually have more bugbears by far with my Samsung ECO System than I did with Apple when I ditched them with the iPhone XS.
Samsung health monitor not available to me in the states today. Nevertheless I love this Galaxy Watch5 Pro apart from the bands not pivoting up out of the way to lay it flat on a qi charger. I've been installing my wear watch faces which work great.
Nice and awesome review well put and explained I do miss the bezel sometimes but it's OK I see the good side of this when you swim or go to the beach sand won't go in-between the bezel loved your video
