This is the Samsung Odyssey G7, the 32-inch version of the 1440p, 240Hz gaming monitor from Samsung. I used the 27-inch display before and didn't like it. I felt like the 1000R curve was too strong for a 27-inch screen and the other flat screen monitors I'd seen from other brands were superior. I was interested to see what the 32-inch version was like though and here it is.
At the end of this video I also compare it briefly with the Samsung Odyssey G9 - so you can see the size and height difference.

This samsung series is tottaly crap. I dont know, how Nvidia give samsung gsync certificate. When gsync is on, visible is micro flickering on screen. I return this crap to the Store.

How do you use the HDMI cable that came with Odyssey G7 on your laptop ?? ... i have the same laptop and Odyssey G7 but i can't use it !! i used HDMI 2.1 but they gave me just 144hz and it's working on AMD graphic not on nvidia !!!

I recently purchased the Odyssey G7 32" and transitioned from the Asus PG279Q 27" as my main gaming monitor. For me personally, I wanted to truly feel like this was an upgrade in every single way - most importantly from a design and experience prospective. From having a curve where none existed before in order to feel more immersed, and also increasing its size to also offer me a different gaming experience. Also, I compared the G7 27" and 32" side by side and in my own personal experience the 27" felt as if it had a steeper curve that actually made me feel nauseous, whereas the 32" did not have this effect on me whatsoever. Simply put, the 27" felt too small for me to really bring out that immersive and cinematic experience I was looking for.

@@marsbog_tv The pixel density is same as 1080p@24" monitor,So sharpness will be exactly the same and will look blurry...So except the increase in size you won't notice increase in clarity..I would suggest a Flat 27" 1440 monitor,or one with simpler curve like 1800R

I was reading about their flickering issue and how the latest firmware it id not solve it for some users this problem...I want to buy this monitor but I do not want to spent this amount and end up with that issue. Have you experienced anything similar?

i much prefer the pixel density of the 27" i was using a 32" monitor and was getting bothered by the pixel density of the 32 27" isn't too steep for me i find it almost perfect i don't have to turn my head to see my entire screen unlike anything bigger

It depends on the 32 inch you have to sit farther away is taller, which is a bullshit, I think. The distance between the seats is tremendous

I think that many people put the g7 27 "too far away because of the large footprint, making the 27" appear smaller than it is. I recommend a monitor arm bracket

@@lor7780 honestly if you want ultimate immersion and have a load of cash get the G9 or there's a Odyssey G5 Ultrawide. The G7 Is a bit more targeted for people who are into eSports i bought the G7 27" Because i Play some eSports Games so the 240hz is great for that but i also play other games so i didn't want a 240hz 1080p because i i enjoy the sharpness and clarity of 1440p The G7 Is The best of both worlds high resolution for AAA Single player games And 240FPS For Competitve If You want an immersion go ultrawide There's nothing Like it

Great review. Got this monitor this Monday. At first I thought it was huge and the curve took some getting used, I sit quite close too. But it's been great. The only issue I've had with it so far is when playing a video once, the screen went completely black and wasn't responding. Had to reset by unplugging the adapter.. this happened a few times but hasn't happened since. The monitor came direct from Samsung and the original seal was broken - but was resealed with Samsung tape which might explain why it came preinstalled with the latest firmware. Mine is also a FD03 version manufactured November 2020. Still trying to figure out the best settings

yes, i just got 32 one and its my second day using it. It's a very nice monitor but kinda big, pixel density is kinda ok. get the 27 if you're playing fps games its gonna look very sharp on 27.i mostly use it for gaming and some games look bad on 1440p 32" i think 32 is meant for 4k and 27 is the sweet spot for 1440p.

Finally a review that lets me see how good windows looks on a 32" besides games. I am curious as to how day to day productivity performs on a 32. Too many people complain about PPI but to actually see the desktop, even though briefly looks pretty good. On the G7 how does the curve affect doing day to day stuff in word or excel or any publishing tools?

That's how I try to do it. So you can get a good POV angle on things. You'll rarely see my face, the focus is 99% on the product :)

I am brand new to the PC world but I’ve been hearing some people talk about the PPI is too low on the 32” version and instead I should go with the 27”. I’ve heard if you sit at a certain distance this doesn’t matter, anyone have any insight into this?

@@Sleepless4Life the PPl difference isn't super noticable and I a have 27" 1440p right next to this 32". It's very sharp. I do have about 23 (I'm 31) years of PC gaming experience for reference and decently ranked in most FPS. That's not a flex, just some perspective on what l can perceive. I've tried multiple images and games it's incredibly negligible even if you're looking for it. I sit just under 3ft away, maybe 1.5ft playing competitively. really thought the PPl would be a deal breaker but it wasn't. Hopefully this response maybe helps others too. Overall I'm glad I went 32". I also don't have any QC issues that have been brought up on other forums/reddit. Those are from launch and from what I can tell are all firmware issues so no hardware lottery unless you get a dead pixel that can happen to any monitor.

Hi there! Very useful review! May I ask how many cm is your desk depth? And most importantly , does the curve result annoying with platform games (i.e. Ori, Bloodstained, etc. ) and productivity programs such as excel and powerpoint? I had to return my G7 32' due to very feint white or black horizontal lines in the upper part of the screen on certain colors. Is this on your screen as well. again its vcery feint but still kinda noticeable.

When you say it comes with a wall mount I assume you mean Vesa mount to be able to fit it to a monitor arm? I had to go watch an unboxing to see if a mount to mount it to your wall was actually included lol

I'm really close to getting this monitor as the Faker edition is on sale for $594 atm. Thing is I see on Nvidia's site that G-sync only works between 80hz-240hz. 80hz is a pretty high minimum frame rate to constantly run at. Modern games on max settings on 1440p with a 3070ti might sometimes go below 80fps. Most G-sync compatible monitors start working between 42hz and 60hz. Should I just go ahead and get the monitor anyway for $200 off?

Even if you're not hitting consistent frames it's a great monitor. These monitors are a future proof purchase as it's only going to get better as video cards get better to push the 240hz limit. You can always drop some settings to hit higher fps like in Red Dead 2. Most FPS should have no problem hitting the fps threshold with a high 20 series or 30 series. The price for this monitor makes it a great purchase compared to competition.

Only if you have 0 dead pixel warranty where its replaced for only 1 dead pixel, its such a shame Samsung does not offer this, or even offer this as optional for additional fee.

Question, so I have the g9 also as my primary Monitor, could I just change my resolution for example to this resolution or say 3440x1440 on my g9 and just play like that? Or have to purchase say this monitor? I.e does it effect the quality downscaleing the resolution on the g9 or would it literally still have the same clarity/quality as the g7? Hope that makes sense😂 because if I can just change the resolution like I have been doing for some titles *even though I am running a 3080ti* then I essentially wouldn't need to buy a g7 basically

The speed and picture are great ( better/faster than my somewhat older Acer Z321QU ). The stand is the weak point. MUCH + worse (wobbly) than my Acer. If it weren't for the flimsy stand, it would be a keeper.

Was looking for a monitor that offered true HDR, which to me is minimum of 1,000 nits for LED and FALD. I ended up going with a LG 48 inch CX. It is night and day better then the dell IPS ultrawide it replaced. And a lot cheaper then the hdr monitor comparables and get to use my 3080's HDMI 2.1.

Im coming from MSI Optix mag CQR 271 with VA Panel and bought a Acer Nitro XV2772UKV with IPS Panel. It very good monitor but ...different from the other monitor. IPS has a razor-sharp picture but a bit exhausting and...I'm not as good at the game as I was before, poor concentration. I am considering exchanging it for this Odyssey G7 27"(32" to less PPI), but don't know if that will be a good decision. Is Odyssey G7 with VA Panel a solution for my problems 😕

Thanks for the video. I was worried about the curve. I'd rather have a flat panel, but IPS has such bad contrast, that I'd rather have the G7 with the curve. Most of the reviewers don't seem to mind it much, and some like it. Except for Tim @ HUB lol. Can't wait to get one!

Have you had a look or had any interest in the AW3821DW? That monitor is the most appealing alternative to the G9 to me. I think 38 inch with the additional vertical real estate is pretty compelling for productivity. I have an LG CX 55 next to my computer which I use for any controller gaming and it's beautiful but I just prefer ultrawides for regular computer usage even if LG gets their consumer OLEDs down to 42 inches in the next few years.

I don't need a new monitor necessarily, I have an LG32GK85f. I managed to scratch the scene slightly and driving my OCD mad". I'm tempted to get the G7 32 inch but not sure how much of an upgrade over my current HDR400 it will be. It has quantum dot and HDR 600 going for it. Going from a flat screen too the massive curve is making me nervous. I nearly pulled the trigger and ordered one. Just not sure I can justify it unless its going to wow me over my current LG 32 inch hdr. I want a 16:9 and the options for freesync pro are limited availability with other monitors.

This looks too curved. I have the predecessor chg70 with 1800r curve and it looks like flat to me after i adapted to it. Can you say that 32 inch G7 looks like flat when you adapt to it ? From the video 19:22 curve looks extreme and very obvious.

I went with the gigabyte g32qc primarily for this very reason. It has a 1500r curve, right in the middle of the 1000r and 1800r. Love it, I feel it's the perfect amount of curve for a 32" panel. It's not as high quality as this G7 panel, but it does have some selling points - tested 5,000:1 contrast ratio (listed as 3,000:1) and the brightness gets 100 nits brighter. Smearing during high FPS games is a problem for hardcore gamers though.
