6 cylinder manual gearbox @ Emirates Motorplex 26 April 2013 Filmed and edited by Peter Björck Thanks to Sub-Zero! Sub-Zero racing team win first, second and third place!!!
For all wondering, Our engine programs for Sand drag and Hillclimbs are not 2JZs, Nissan TB48 and Toyota 1FZ, the engines are around 4.5-5 liters and make around 1800hp. For conventional Dragracing we only use 2JZs.
For one Arab countries have been racing for years and years and years. They started out with horses between short distance racing and long distance as well. Quite frankly I have respect for these people it takes alot of balls to strap into one of these vehicles and launch it. Me I'd have to be a passenger just because I'd be honored to even get that much.
Aww I would love to go over there to watch some of these races. Would be awesome . Top of my bucket list for sure. Been watching this stuff for a while now. Looks like so much fun.
These are not Rb's or 2jz's. They are 1FZ-FE's for the yota's or they use the Nissan Petrol 4.8. Both Engines are straight 6 inlines but displace 4.8Liter for the Nissan and 4.5 liter for the Toyota. These Engines on full tilt that Subzero use are making north of 1500hp
Very very nice install on all them trucks man that's a clean installation looks neat well organized I love it I'm sure them J to Z Motors or whatever it is that's a hell of a motor I know I've worked on them before
Wow, great work!! I'd personally like to see lagert tires, since they spin so much anyways, larger diameter could help out alot.. How about some "semi-sand paddles" ?
Wow this is an old comment but I’ll answer because nobody has. It is so they can put ice directly into the inter cooler for colder air. Definitely need as cold of air as possible in the Middle East because of the extreme heat
We used to do that same thing but it was through the mud here in Florida and it's all swamped so that's all we got we don't have sand but we would do it through the mud my buddy had a 70 Ford Bronco with a 351 Cleveland with nitrous roller cam and all that and that thing would go the 300 ft in 4.4 seconds or something like that it was it was a fast little Bronco the little tiny Bronco the early one the first one 351 Cleveland that's the baddest Ford small block they ever made
I know, but here north-europe we have many cars with diesel engines, about 4 / 10 cars are with diesel engines. And building of them, if only take output 350hp @ litrepower, it`s own worlds, that..... :D
@ wagner.....not 2j its a nissan patrol tb48 straight six....mostly....its also a strong engine like the 2j but with almost 2 litres more....4.8 litre I think it is..
I was just making a funny.. It doesn't really look like 350 or a 454, doesn't even look like a V8. Pbjork says they're running 6 cylinders in the 'About' section. What do you reckon?
@@drivewaymarvels311 The sand isn't much of an issue since the sand is just way too small to even bother the intake. Plus it's a race against time and not a head to head race , the sand problems would be popping up more if it even were that.
If the turbo is in the driver's side (left side of the car), it's a Nissan TB42 or 45 or even a 48 (42 for 4.2L, and so on). If the Turbo is in the passenger's side (right side of the car), it's an 1FZ-F Toyota (1FZ-FE if uses Electronic Fuel Injection)
My buddy back in the day when they first came out with that motor he had the fastest door Slammer drag racer in the quarter mile with that motor his name was Scranton I'm not sure his first name is Scranton Brothers Racing he had a world record Supra with that j2z motor it was turboed fuel injected all that it was badass fastest door Slammer that's a car that has to have operating doors can't be all race
Ah, the sound of poor tuning in the morning... Mmmmm... Smells like broken things. The orange and black sub zero truck legitimately throws rods through the block on the dino. It's great.
What do you mean v8's have too much torque? Those are inline 6s which are very torque for their displacement especially when they are turbo'd. Most of those look like 2jz and if turbo'd to 1000hp will make 700-800ftlbs of torque. You got to remember the motor doesn't determine the torque, the gears do. Just look at the M35 truck 300ftlbs of torque, but with the 1st gear at 6:1 and rear end at 5.1:1 you have over 9000ftlb of torque going to the wheels without lose.
Same reason why britanian uses coopers , USA Shevys and Ford, Sweden volvos, German Audi, BMW or WV , Or Lada in rusia ., Knowlage and an landmark i would guess : P
Here in uae. The patrol is like a perfect car, the new ones are luxurious, have a powerful v8 and not too heavy, the older ones are good for modifying as they’re reliable and the engine is easy to modify
