It wasn't so much that just the players would find out who they were, but I think there is some kind of accountability with it. Once the others find out who you are, if anything goes wrong, there's a person who they can connect it to, and if they can make that connection, someone could work out the game and make real trouble for those who create/run it. So if all the workers are completely anonymous, with nothing to identify them, then there's no way that could happen.
Also the actual guards as-well, the guards don't know each other identities hence why they have the square, circle, triangle hierarchy and follow a strict schedule to avoid them from knowing eachother.
The reason why the Front Man shot the square mask guy was not because he revealed himself to just the player but he also revealed himself to the other employees aka the circle and triangle masks in the room. The rules state you are NOT to reveal yourself to the players, EMPLOYEES and anyone else involved in the Squid Games. Or you die. So even though the players were dead in the room, the square mask turned around and faced the circle and triangle masks, exposing himself. Which means he broke the rules and let the circle and triangle masks find out who he was. Therefore, he gets shot. Thus why he didn't look surprised when he was shot bc he knew he would die.

Great reaction guys! This episode is when I started liking Gi Hun too and started to hate Sang Woo even more. I’d understand if he didn’t tell a stranger but how could he do a childhood friend like that? And Ali is my favorite all time character, I’m glad you like him!

I think you might know already, but the workers have levels determined by the angles on their masks. Bottom is circle with 0, then triangle with 3(soldiers), then square with 4(supervisors) and finally the front man with the pointy mask.

obviously umbrella is the hardest. the second hardest would be circle because there is no straight lines. Between star and triangle you have pros and cons. in theory triangle is easier. but the lines are longer, meaning it is easier to break the shape when cutting each side. On the other side, star has shorter lines and all are straight. if you do it carefully, star might be easier, since shortir sides are easier to cut. the bad part is that you have more sides than the triangle, so between the 2 it depends how you do it. If in doubt you can do propperly and carefully, then going to the triangle is the best option (the safe option). In the end, you want to avoid the circle, and dont even think of trying the umbrella. also what you said about the shapes is correct. as you saw each shape is a rank. you can see that the squares are fewer and the ones that do the talk, meaning they are the supervisors. you can also see that the triangles are the only guys with guns (not counting the revolver that you see the square using). And lately you can see that the circles are the only guys doing the manual labor, meaning they are the work force of this system.
What do you mean by "black force energy"??? Yes the camera keeps on focussing on his Joon-ho (the policeman's) ripped button. I felt no. 218 'Cho San-Woo' was "very selfish", because from finding out from our pickpocket girl no. 67 just before the game on the stairs, she said she smelt sugar from the night before, being a bright guy, he quickly worked it out from the childhood flashback to the man making the sugar honeycomb biscuit shapes and could have made it easier for poor n0. 456 'Seong Gi-Hun' choosing the hardest shape, the umbrella☂️and tell him to change it to an easier shape, which made me so nervous for him, hence where you rightly pointed out San-Woo's hesitation when he said "umbrella...why?". Then he calls him as he's walking off and says and then says "never mind" and right there was his opportunity to say something, but for whatever reason chose not too. The guy cheating getting inside info' also had the heads up and knew it was to do with honeycomb, therefore choosing an easy shape. Ali's a boss doing that all by hand without the needle so I saw a bit of his looked slightly jagged and was thinking they might not pass this, but I was hoping he'd hold that part between his fingers so it couldn't be seen, but thankfully he passed. The ones who were shot at the end by the pink triangle guards/soldiers, simply ran out of time - go back you'll see after our main character 'Gi-Hun' holds up his completed unbroken umbrella it showed the clock at @. The young kid looking pink guard (with the square mask) who was temporarily held hostage for a minute if that, by that player who broke his umbrella knew the rules that he'd be shot if he removed his mask and could have easily fallen to the ground to let the other guards shoot that man or jumped to one side, it almost seemed like he wanted to go out that way, he looked fed up by and didn't even flinch when the guy in the main guy in the black mask raised his arm to shoot him in the head. I was hoping you noticed, it's not a spoiler, but an observation and is OK to say now, my daughter worked out from Ep1 the hierarchy with the workers in the pink overalls and masks, "squares" are at the top and the only ones allowed to speak, triangles are the next level down in the middle, they are strapped and holding the guns and the circles are the lowest at the bottom and they do the menial tasks eg. like collecting the dead bodies and as you saw working in the kitchen etc. The shape(s) in this order, circle, triangle, square ○◁□ therefore, the original children's game is named as such because the shape of the game board drawn on the ground resembles that of a squid. 🦑 Let me just say without giving anything away, the next game in Ep4 was my favourite, you're going to love it.
