Just wanted to say thank you for the great videos. Even though I'm a mechanical engineer, I find myself lacking in fabrication and shop knowledge. These videos help me fill that gap in knowledge. I can tell you enjoy your work and that makes you a great teacher. Once again, thank you.

Going into the weekend I wasn't sure what any of us were facing. Glad to see that most people came out of this storm without much damage. Always good to see other ways of getting a job done; you just have to keep an open mind and remember that lots of roads will get you to the same place. Thanks for sharing your methods of doing things. Sincerely, Tom Z

Already ordered my Shop Life t-shirt and can't wait to get it. I enjoy getting up in the mornings on the weekends before the rest of the family and watching your video's on my computer. I will be sending you a package with some stuff you can put in your display cabinet. I am not any kind of machinist, I provide IT Support, but have decided I would like to do it as a hobby. I will be 52 in December and have always been fascinated with mechanical stuff, helps keep the mind occupied. I truly enjoy watching your videos, especially since you make them so anybody can pickup and learn from them. Keep up the great work and hope you stay safe.

the old one is defiantly customized ! The one you just finished look like it will do the job a little better. to bad you can paint the old one and tell the customer that we tried to copy the one he brought in but just couldn't match the color.. the about the time he starts to breath again the bring in the good one.. now that would make a funny video.. Keep having fun Adam. that's why I keep watching and I'm learning too. thanks for sharing!

miter saw and a carbide blade does great on aluminum. really thin aluminum no but .040 on up sweet. i use an old one to cut steel w/ a abrasive wheel. that uses up a saw quickly but it beats using one of the clamp style abrasive cutters. and you have the built in angle scale. built pool enclosures for thirty years w/ a mitre saw. love the vids, they get me through otherwise boring times. i can't believe all the tooling you have. was born in FWB, tampa now but like it better up there. keep up the good work.

I have watched 99.5 % (+/- .5%) of all your videos, and the way you do things is 98.0 % the way I'd do them. The 2% is 1% you surprise me with something, the other 1% I would never think of, and 100% of your mistakes are the same as most of will do, have done, or will in the future. So keep on doing what you love, what we love and thanks as always for sharing. One question, what is your favorite cut of beef/pork for slow cooking w/ smoke?

Great video as always! Just a tip if you are using a thermometer to see if chicken is done: Measure in the thickest part of the thigh, as dark meat is what takes the longest to cook. If not using a thermometer, then check for doneness by twisting the leg. When the leg twists inside the meat, then it is done.
@WeaselWood
@WeaselWood 8 лет назад
It's allways good to do some things different than "You should do it SO and say no more!" Thinking outside the box makes the workflow more interesting and enhance your experience, and even if you make a mistake, that's not the end of the world as far as you don't repeat your mistakes but rather keep the experience of this mistake and use it for future work. ;)

Hey Adam I was listening to NPR on my way from work they where interviewing some guy on the science of cooking.I got two things out of it that I will apply to my cooking. 1 is use a digital thermometer it is more accurate, instant and will make your meats taste better. 2 he said apply mayonnaise to your meats including fish to keep it from sticking.
@Abom79
@Abom79 8 лет назад
I have used mayonase, and it does help to give your meat a little more color. It's basically the same as applying oil before cooking. I usually run olive oil on mine, but do sometimes use some mayo.

It occurred to me when watching the millwork that the coolmist system was working perfectly, but, As I dont know what is in the fluid, are there any health concerns with all that stuff in the air?, doesn't worry me as I smoke as much as your smoker! , just wondered.
