Sausage and Mash Pie For Families | Keep Cooking Family Favourites | Jamie Oliver 

I made this for a 9yr old and a fussy 6yr old. I thought my 9yr old would go into a food coma 😂 my 6yr old ate about 80% even though she doesn't enjoy mash.. the tasty sauce made it all delicious! It's a heavy meal, prefect for a English winters day Don't think twice.. make it 😁

Since I'm not fond of apples going to try this with fennel instead for a sweet element. It goes so well with sausages too.

I make something very similar using leeks, onion & garlic sweated, with cheese sauce & grated cheese on top of potato. I have been known to make a pastry base & topped with potato mash too.

Before watching this recipe, I wouldn't dare to mix caramelised apples and sausage in the same tray. Now I will definitely do it ! :)

I tried this last night. I think I used too deep a dish as the mash I had left was barely enough to make a top and was wafer thin. I also had issues with the mash being sticky, making it hard to smooth out but that might be due to the previous issue and I was compacting it too much. I also think I added a little too much water so I had to cook it off for longer. Also, and this is just me, I’d probably use 500ml milk next time as my filling was a touch too runny. That’s my fault though. Despite all that, it still tasted damn good! The apple adds a discreet sweetness and the whole thing is hearty and warming. Will try again for sure!
