And like a good neighbor, WST is here!!! Greetings from chilly S. E. Ohio. At 7:00 am had 2 degrees F. 1 1/2" of snow Wed. Been a warm winter round here till now. You're a great neighbor to have WST. Have a wonderful day!!!! See ya next time
Hi John! LOL!! That’s funny. I appreciate the sentiment. It’s cold all over the Midwest. Buckle up, because we are all going to get more this week. FYI - the hoodies have been slightly delayed. Looks like end of the month before you will see a package from me. No worries, the ax is in safe keeping with your name on it! Thanks for watching and the support! WST
Hey Richard! 🤣🤣 That is funny you picked up on that. Doing narration in the 3rd person is tricky, especially when you know what is going to happen! Still, I thought WST did OK taking care of business on this tricky job. What a mess! Take care and thanks for the support! The real WST
Hey Richard, I concur fully! I actually thought the narrator was a little harsh at times. It’s always easy to critique someone’s work from afar. I’m terrible with quotes, but I think it goes like this. “Those who can, do. Those who cannot do, narrate.” Or was it comment? I forget now.😉 Bless’ns to ya, Tedd
Good work yanking that one down. It was a tricky one too, but the back side held it well so it wouldn’t fold over on itself. The 272 was close to pinching on the downhill face, and you stopped before the inevitable. With the tractor available to pull, it was a much safer and saved a lot of rigging time if it was deep in the woods off of the trail. Camp fire wood is great, enjoy a cold one with that neighbor, not many good folk like you left anymore. Take care.
Hi Eric! That was a dandy and a very good learning experience, as are most mangled trees. Poplar is crazy with how much moisture is in the wood. It wants to pinch and expand as soon as you start cutting it. I came close to several pinches and was fortunate. Without the tractor, I wasn't going to even mess with this tree. Truly a great tool for the job. This neighbor is great and we like helping out when we can. Cold ones are shared frequently. Thanks for watching and commenting. We appreciate it! WST
So cold your nose hairs tingle haha thanks for sharing Mike. Stay safe and keep helping those neighbors. Also, love the Heartwood callout at 1:19 ;) -David and Rachel from CFS
Hello David and Rachel! Hope all is well and you are staying warm. Ah, the nose hair line. It gets people every time... We do a lot for this neighbor, as he is in his mid 80's and on his own. Always good to help those in need. You are welcome on the callout. This play by play stuff is a real science and I cannot remember my grade in science. Thanks for watching as always. Take care my friends! WST
I love the smell of fresh popular, too bad it is such a poor wood for burning but it does make the camp site smell good. The tractor was the ace in the hole for that tree, don't know how I would have got that one down. Stay safe keep warm
Hi Heinzie! Hope you are staying warm in WI! I agree on the smell of fresh poplar. There is so much moisture in that wood, that it is very aromatic. I would have had a tougher time without the tractor. The tractor added the safety element I needed to have. I thank God everyday for that machine. It is the backbone of what I do. Thanks for watching my friend! WST
Hi Jason! Nice to see you. My neighbor is in his mid 80’s and I help him out often, especially with wood and things he needs fixed. It’s a family effort. Thanks for watching! WST
Mike, not an easy tree! But WST did a great job on getting that poplar on the ground safely! Great that you n could help.the neighbor out and save them.money! Nice Job!
Hi Craig! That was a dandy of a tree indeed! I thought that one through awhile before tackling it. A good result and my 84 year old neighbor still had some cushion in his mattress that night. Thanks for watching my friend! WST
Hey Overrev Kev and hello Vancouver Island! Hope all is well my friend. I agree, that WST character is alright…… Thanks for watching as always. We appreciate it. The Real WST
Hi Phil! Hope all is well in the mountains of NC! My family is very close to this neighbor. We do a lot for him as he is in his 80’s and on his own. When he told me it was going to $1k, I told him I would do it. I got some fun and he saved some cash. Thanks for watching my friend! WST
Very clever idea on this video! You had me laughing at various time throughout. As for that tree, that was wild how that came apart. I would have scratched my head on getting that one down. Nice job. Stay safe Mike!
Hi Woody! I am glad you enjoyed the video. It was something different to do and experiment with. The narrator works cheap and may get an extension on his contract in 2022. Trust me, I was scratching my head. That is one reason I did not do a regular video. I had to keep focused on what I was doing. I was disappointed in the footage I lost in the After Dark segment. My cameras just don’t like extreme temps. Thanks for watching and the supportive words. Take care! WST
Wow that stump was ugly! The tractor saved the day there. Love the commentary style video😆 it’s very funny. That coaster looked so cool! I wanna see that after you sand it and put some stain on it.
Hi Logan! Ugly is a very good way to put it. Without the tractor, I would have been taking a lot more risk. The narration is a new thing for me and wanted to add a twist with doing it in the third person. I am going to put the 14” coaster 🙄 in the shop to dry. We will see what it looks like. Thanks for stopping by! Hey, you got a truck? That is awesome! Congrats! Take care. WST
Hi Mike! It was something different to produce. I lost footage in the after dark part due to the cold. I have to figure that out! Cameras hate extreme cold. The logo thing was brought up, but I would sure hate to replace Husky Squirrel! Next tattoo! LOL!!! That would be a hoot! Thanks for watching my friend! WST
Hey Cherry 🍒 Man! Hope all is well my friend. I have to admit I was sweating a tad in the beginning. I had to look long and hard on how to tackle this situation. Done and I’m a little smarter for it. Thanks for watching as always! WST
Hi Del! Glad you enjoyed the video. It was something different to do. Trying to spice it up here and there. The narrator may get an extension on his contract for 2022. Plus, he works cheap! Thanks for watching my friend! WST
Hi Max! What? There was no beach ball emoji? That is the size I felt mine were when I agreed to take it down! It was fun once it hit the ground and a good days work. Thanks for watching! WST
Hi Chris! LOL!! Nope, that was a WST on WST production. My neighbor is 84 years old and literally hid in the house for that project. It was 15 degrees F and I don’t think he new which way that tree was going to fall! Safer for him to stay away. Glad you enjoyed the video. I took a page out of your book with the voiceover and just added a twist of doing it in the 3rd person. Thanks for watching and inspiring me. WST
Don’t ignore the crap wood quality of poplar. They make nice log benches if you cut them down the middle. They take oil finishes and have lots character. Gotta think out of the box. Lol.
THE STAN! I am going to reserve judgment on this comment, due to my ignorance on the quality of poplar as a good wood for anything. I will have my crack staff of Google researchers verify the validity of your statement and we will get back with you. How’s Tuesday? As for the box, WST is square in the middle of the box currently…. As always, thank you for exercising my brain and entertaining me. Take care my friend and stay warm. WST
Especially liked the comment ",...he might be carving his initials, I dunno,..." I'm still chuckling over that! Another informative/entertaining video n the commentary was excellent; must be in the blood. Kudos for helping your neighbor, well done WST!
Hello Mark! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. The narration is new for me, but I didn’t want to write a script. I wanted it to be interpretive and how I saw on the screen. Plus, I thought the 3rd person angle would make it more fun. Glad you liked the initials in the tree yarn. That was a Hail Mary and I wasn’t sure it was full of grace! Thanks for watching and commenting. That means a lot to us! Take care! WST
Hi John! Sorry to disappoint, but that was WST narrating himself in the 3rd person. I like to throw the viewers a zinger here and there to keep them on their toes. Glad you enjoyed it! Take care my friend and stay safe in the snow out there! WST
Who do you use for your voice overs? That guy seems like he knew exactly what you were going to do next.🧐 That popular does seem very light and easy to cut. Nice entertaining vid as always Mike👍🏻👍🏻🐿🔧
Hello Todd! I got this low rent fella to do my voiceover. It cost me lunch and and some lemon juice for the voice. The guy was good and damn near uncanny in his insight of what was going on. Poplar is a easy deal. It cuts like punky hardwood would. Not use to that. Thanks for watching my friend! WST
Hi Kenny! Well, I think you are onto something there. I think WST would have noodled the tree on the spot if it made sense. 4 out of 5 podiatrist say poplar noodles are more effective then Dr. Scholl’s You can’t make this stuff up. Thanks for watching my friend! WST
Definitely not sweating in that weather.. Hopefully they made you some cookies or a something homemade to enjoy.. But I would be the guy not to be expecting anything in return..
Hi Daniel. This is not Little House on the Prairie where Pa comes in from working the fields and Ma has vittles on the table. I appreciate you sharing your dream with us, but it is just not reality! Anyway, I always appreciate your outta of the box thinking. I’ll let Mrs Tears know. Thanks for watching!
WST did a great job taking down that dangerous Poplar. I always resort to machinery when I can on such jobs. Poplar is very abundant here in Virginia. It's my least liked wood to burn.
Hi Clint! Hope all is well in Virginia. That tree was a dandy the way it came apart. It almost resembled a tree that got a lightning strike. I think it was a combination of the cold and the wind. There is so much moisture in poplar and when it freezes and stresses, BOOM! She blows! I agree that poplar is very low on the wood list. Thanks for watching! WST
HAY MIKE I WONDER IF I DIDN'T HIT THE COMMENT BUTTON BUT ANYWAY YA I'LL TAKE YOU UP ON ONE OF THOSE COOKIES, I THINK YOU SHOULD GIVE W.S.T. A RASE FOR A JOB WELL DONE... STAY COOL MIKE... PEACE...
Hey Gringo! Hope all is well my friend. I would love to send one your way. Give me some time, but I won’t disappoint you. Thanks for the raise. Mrs. Tears is going to ecstatic! Take care my friend! WST
@@gringopines3476 BUSTED! I always read all of Mikes comments just to see if he’s talking crap about me! 🤣 I’m not telling him nothin!😆 Make me happy and pay it forward brother! 👍🏻
@@FirewoodMidwest GOOD FORM ROD, GOOD FORM... I'D LIKE TO DO SOMETHIN' NICE TO SHOW MY GRATITUDE... WOULD YOU HELP AN OLE BOY OUT, AND GIVE A LIL HINT OF HAPPYNESS I CAN SHARE WITH YOU LIKE YOU DID WITH ME???
Hi Harry P! He’s a good neighbor in his late 80’s. He’s on his own and as a family we help him out quite a bit. He’s retired Navy and Michigan State Police Captain. You should hear his stories! Thanks for watching. Much appreciated! WST
Hire that commentator, he was a natural. Great "after dark" video of you not showing us doing anything after dark except selling merchandise. How much for the coasters?
Hi Grandpa! The 3rd person narrator may be signed to a contract in 2022. The results are favoring this. The After Dark video should have been longer, but I lost video and audio in some parts. The camera shut off due to it being 0 degrees, not including windchill. I will be bringing back After Dark on a warmer night. Sorry about that. Coasters are $10 plus shipping 🤣It’s poplar, so I’m not sure how nice the wood will be once dry. Thanks for watching! WST
Love watching you videos but I can’t align with the climbing on the forks to lasso a broken tree. Your life is way too valuable. Especially on your family.
Hi Kevin, I completely understand your reservations on the safety aspect of this job I did. I don’t take risk like that often. I appreciate you watching and for your comment. Take care! WST
