It’s because white feminists have known for awhile that feminism is about power. It’s about control. The previous system is collapsing, we are in the time of nihilism. Thus everyone is competing to dictate the next system. Who controls the laws, the balance of power, the meaning of things. Feminism is about structuring that new system so benefit themselves. Hence white women taking over the mechanisms that are molding that new system.
that's damn right. I wouldn't be surprised if Andrew himself looked up to him. And I'm sure Akaash does. A genius. You don't have to agree with him and I will also say that this was far from his best, but he is great at what he does. Sometimes, I disagree with Chappelle, but that dude is a GOAT, no doubt. To new fans, check out his Bill's philly rant. He roasted the audience to perfection, that even they switched from booing to applauding. I don't think any other comedian can pull such an act off. He made history that night.
Bill Burr has been in the goat discussion for a while now... ever since he carried the podcast on election night 2016 ...My man is probably the funniest man alive right now
You forget there's a good 10+ other comedians there if you watch that. Just shotgun blast after blast after blast from Burr. When he made fun of Rogan it was the best. Rogan almost fell out of his chair a couple of times.
Bill burr has fallen off dude was the goat awhile back. Look at his first few specials 10 - 15 years ago dude was a destoyer. Went down hill after he got married.
I think Chapelle is the best political comedian who tackles the big issues, but Burr is the best observational comedian who handles every day issues. But that's just my humble opinion!
Chapelle goes deep on the topics that we need someone to discuss on that level. Topics we make up our minds on on a cursory ‘headline’ level that he knows we should spend some time understanding and uses comedy to do it. Burr is the guy who hits on all the shit you mumble under your breath, but through a genius lens. He adds like 2 or 3 layers to what you think is a simple annoyance.
I think the "sucking audience" is because it was a limited audience because of C-19. It would have sounded better with a full audience but it didn't matter because MY laughter was so much louder! I had to pause the video a couple times! LOL!!
@jon castro The Universe is truly choosing him as the iodiosyncratic superstar of today. You can't script that stuff, Bill Burr is being rewarded by the miasmic funnelings of the Universe's hive consciousness for being so gosh darn ballsy in his normal material. Most comedians are several tiers below Burr.
Dude the line "White women swung their gucci booted feet over the fence of oppression" killed me. The number of complex commentary on social class, privilege, and overall assholery compressed in such a few sequence of words is mind blowing. It wasn't enough that it was profound but it was hilarious on top of that. Yeah GOAT all the way
Bill Burr's monologue was Burrfection. He's a legend. He also wrote for the Dave Chappelle show but i think the real backlash came bcz he's also been married to a Black woman for a long minute.
@@Okutox he would have been good but idk if you listen to his Black Phillip episodes he probably would have been cancelled lol. I love him though and that show is hilarious and true. I miss Patrice
@@Lukas-mu2tw in the 2010s yeah he'd be cancelled but Chappelle exposed them and now we all know they're just paper tigers. Patrice would be killing the podcast game
@@Okutox I agree Patrice would be killing it in the podcasting world. I still think the me too movement would try to cancel him though. People have only become more sensitive
He will and if he doesnt return to the mainstream he's fine. He has a very strong fanbase, not as big as other comedians, but the loyalty is strong. Love the guy.
Their loss if he doesn't. The greatest comedians are not safe comedians. Guarantee clips from this episode get way more clips than safe, woke hosts. It's only been 2 days and I see in suggested videos to the right that Burr's monologue has 4.7 Million views. Big deal for a show that no one really watches anymore.
I seriously thought that’s what most people thought about “woke” white women & how they kind of snatched actual activism from people that are suffering.
Bill Burr has been the GOAT for years now in my book cause what gives him the edge over Chappelle imo is the fact that his racial absolutely kills despite him being white.
Bill Burr has BEEN the goat. Anyone who has been listening to the Monday Morning Podcast for a few years KNOWS just how god damn hilarious Bill Belly Rolls is. Glad y’all finally came around.
I'm a huge Bill Burr fanboy for years so I'm used to his edgy jokes and after watching his SNL I actually thought the audience wasn't that awful they laughed and clapped for most of his monologue mainly because I don't think Burr went full in, anyone who knows Burr Rant knows how powerful that can be.. I love this man God bless him
He did it because he knew cancel culture couldn’t do anything about it. He has his fans already. If anything, he’ll get new fans for being so real and raw!! #BurrtheGOAT
@@ShiningLight411 yeah man, you could tell. When I busted out laughing, it took them a few seconds. That uncomfortable chuckle that slowly turns into a laugh. I thought that was funny too.
@@elliottjones8354 Watch him on Conan and tell me you dont see a difference. I'm not judging either. He is in his 50's and has two toddlers now, with a real opportunity to make generational wealth for his family. I would do the same.
@@gregcullers7883 he has too kids now? Iv seen it No punches pulled Those jokes hit my midsection both externally And then internally from laughter Even the sam Adams skit was all him And the sports caster skit too He was on fire And if u truely have an open mind it was a great night ... I give Chris rock a pass bc the entire staff was rustee from covid
Who is gonna tell these 2 dudes that this monologue was actually woke as shit and Billy is really pretty far left? I realize it's probably hard to grasp for you two, but Billy was being a bit more clever than "women be NAGGIN! Amirite fellas?". Dude's wife is a black woman and he knows all too well how theres a lot of privileged white women who have co-opted these movements for equality. And he's specifically calling out the white women who think they deal with the same shitty treatment that black women have to. When in reality, it doesn't even come close to comparing.
Personally, I remember hoping that Burr would host SNL years ago... by the time it happened, I thought that he was too good for it... That being stated, I watched it live (despite not watching SNL on TV for 15 years), and he delivered. The cold open was extremely dumb, but he and Jack White destroyed when they were on...
Who's ever been to good that they shouldn't host Saturday Night Live Chappelle did it Eddie Murphy did it the list goes on basically everybody at their highest point as a comedian you do not host Saturday Night Live if you ain't been killing it
My Mount Rushmore of stand up comics is: 1. Bill Burr 2. Patrice O'Neal 3. Dave Chappelle 4. Young Martin Lawrence Runner-ups are: Steve Harvey, Bernie Mac and Chris Rock. Just my opinion. Feel free to add yours.
Bill Burr is one of the most consistently funny comedians out there. Even when he’s not trying, just having a simple conversation, he’s more hilarious than 98% of comics doing stand-up
Bill knew what he was doing. He knew he couldn't go off so he just dropped a couple of bars and breadcrumbs and still lit Twitter on fire. Well played. Very well played.
Dave, Patrice and Bill are my top 3. They somehow manage to make you learn about life/how people act while making you laugh hysterically at the same time. Geniuses man
Just watched it and followed Bill since I was a kid. Bill was doing lightwork and still had me in stitches for 7 minutes. Dude is absolutely a master at his craft. Legend tier imo since he's from the Patriece o'neal crowd
They are easily some of the best of all time too. I think Louis is the best comedian in terms of pure comedic skill. Bill and Dave are naturally funnier.
Chappell is, in my opinion, more honed of a comic than Burr. Now with that being said, is Burr a better writer? Maybe. But it terms of jokes that land and land hard, Chappell is a murderer. Burr is more quick to a punchline than Chappell.
I think Chris Rock is still hysterical but he just didnt want to be doing a set for SNL at all, pretty much phoned it in. He was there to promote a movie
The point about Rock being a brilliant guy who found a way to hack stand up is SPOT ON. The guy is more an intellectual than just a funny man. But he twists that intellect into brilliant comedy.
Louis CK is playground comedy... Hes not on bills level. Please show me one funny bit by CK where he's not talking about penises or jerking off. CKs materials is trash
C R Louis CK’s comedy is on such a higher level than Burr. It’s not even close, man. CK is the closest we’ll ever get to having Carlin back. And, honestly, Burr has had the same material for like 6 years now.
@@cr6203 Louis has way more quality specials than Burr. I love bill burr and he’s definitely one of the greatest ever, but a lot of his specials are repetitive. He talks about thinning the herd in every special. Louis has strategic masterfully crafted jokes. Burr is more of a rant/ conversational style comedian. Both amazing.
Bill Burr is nowhere near as funny as he was 10 years ago. Paper Tiger was pretty dull and this SNL routine wasn’t all that. Louis is on a different level. Let’s not forget Stanhope. If you want highbrow comedy it’s got to be Stuart Lee
C R it might be immature but it’s a least semi original material structured in a great way, the man influenced his entire crop of comidians including burr and everyone after him don’t rewrite history because he beat off. bill burr on the other hand has been doing the same material the same way since he was on O&A it’s tired.
From your opening, you are CRAZY to think that Bill is separate from Chappelle. They both are long time friends and the flip side of the same coin. There is Richard Pryor, Carlin, then Dave and Billy as far as social comedic commentary GENIUS!!! Dave and Bill cover most peoples perspective these days.
Bill Burr has been this way his whole career? People know who the host is before they go. If they went and knew what to expect and still got offended, his point about them being off earth makes more sense.
Couldn't agree more on Bill.. you gotta love that he does his thing regardless of the PC pressure. He's just comedic gold, his gold digging epidemic bit is still my favourite clip of all time.
To say that Bill Burr is a “New Goat” is disrespectful. Bill Burr been a goat. He never changed coats & always stood on his box. Chappell is God Status for the record.
Best comment in here. Bill’s content and style is epic and worthy of goat status by itself. The fact that he never changed or refuses to, pushes him over the top. His shadow has more of a spine than most others have in their bodies.
EXACTLY. Well said both of you. Anyone who is just now thinking that Bill is the ‘new’ goat; clearly hasn’t been rockin with Bill too long. His resume speaks for itself.
Bill Burr and Norm MacDonald are definitely two of my favorite contemporary comedians. They have very different styles but both of them are able to cross that line that you think they'd never cross. They both happily make fun of the PC crowd.
"Black people like edgy comedy" is straight truth. That is why I don't get/dont have respect for folks who support injecting PC culture in comedy. The vast majority of minority folks have a level of edginess to their humor because that's the point. You can watch a ton of black stand-up and non-black standup and one thing you'll see with nearly all of the black stand-up comedians (who are actually good) is that their material is edgy. There is a reason you dont see a Kat Williams or Eddie Griffin in some pro-PC, upper middle class white establishment trying to do their comedy. That just wouldnt mix and that audience isnt right for it and yet that type of audience is the type to get most offended by any sort of real stand-up comedy.
@Ares Malgus I agree most common sense people enjoy edgy comedy and understand the core point of it is making fun for absurd beliefs. I just talk about black people specifically because that fact goes so against their narrative and the types you describe would never admit to that fact.
Bill Burr is fantastic and I respect that he didn’t change who he is as a comedian to bow to the masses on SNL. It was the best opening monologue in years. People can complain but he dishes it out evenly.
I feel the exact same way. I listen to every one of Burr's podcast episodes, love his specials, but I DIDN'T think the SNL bit was his best, straight up. It wasn't because I was offended or some bullshit, I love his style, but he has just written better jokes imo, not sure why people are admiring him for this compared to his other better stuff though
@@tylerasmith52 I found the SNL bit funny , but you have to remember the audience sucked and this was on SNL where most viewers a white liberal soccer moms.
@@tylerasmith52 Burr's monologue wasn't even close to doing this, but just like there are comedians getting on stage and regurgitating "woke" and cancel culture shit for applause instead of telling jokes there are also comedians getting on stage and spewing anti-cancel culture shit for the same reason. They're just pandering to a different audience. I think it's the people who consume anti-woke comedy who are admiring him for it. Personally when I listen to comedy I am interested in hearing clever and funny jokes, not a lecture of opinions I agree with.
@@banny8167 you must be either stupid or deaf then. Those lines about blacks getting shorter appreciation month than gays are nothing short of brilliant. And the way he hits with the wearing masks bit is amazing. "aNtI-w0k3 crowd" are you an uppity white chick? Dafuq
let's talk about the elephant in the room the woke audience didn't get offended. Some white bloggers. did .Check the youtube video, the likes, the comments. Check the retweets, so many people praising, so many woke people of color praising.
It was EMBARRASSING to hear some of the SNL audience feel uncomfortable laughing at Burr's jokes. Glad to know the key SNL demo is the pearl clutching triggered Karens. He was DEAD ON.
I get the Rock is smart that found funny and Burr is more his normal self thing. In another universe, Chris Rock is funniest guy in the office or because he went home an created jokes to match all the employees and clients he;d meet at work. Whereas Burr is the guy getting everyone in the warehouse in trouble for laughing and making it obvious no one is working because he starting talking about shovels and HR.
The crowd not laughing made it even better for me. What he said on SNL was nothing compared to a 8 minutes on a Thusday Afternoon Just Before Friday Monday Morning Podcast.
