Idk if I would really recommend as it’s been AGES since I read it, but for middle grade you could try EarthFall by Mark Walden. It’s about an alien invasion in London and they use this frequency to convert the masses into mindless workers and our main character Sam (definitely didn’t read this coz the MC had my name😂) isn’t affected by it so is kinda now alone and trying to survive and hide from the aliens. The it goes from there. There’s three books and I only ever read the first one
Margaret Peterson Haddix has some good middle grade scifi! It's definitely more on the dystopic/speculative side than like space and aliens, but I loved her as a kid. Also I just read Wasteland Woes by Isaac Cooke-Khan which is a mg dystopic novella and it was super sweet. The Calculating Stars is one I keep hearing about and it sounds so fascinating.
a lot of ppl have recommended wool to me but im so afraid of it haha iohhhh im very curious about Aliens Vazquez!! it's very rare that i read horror scifi but i'll give it a try!!
Oh? Why does wool scare you? Maybe I can help alleviate the trepidation. So far aliens Vasquez has had very little horror so it at least is easing in to any horror elements
@bookswithtofucado I would say it’s more d heavy in tone than dense as scifi if that makes sense. It’s definitely not science forward and super approachable for people who enjoy dystopian (and even folks like me who don’t spend a ton of time in that subgenre)
@@mychaoticshelf I’m really worried the strikes are going to kill for all mankind 😢 but oooh you’ve read lost in time? Is it going to be the fun silly time I’m dreaming of? Lol
I’ve just discovered your channel and I’m in love with your content!! Queer sci-fi lover here!! A memory called empire is an ALL time fave (and wayfarers of course 🫡)
