Wow that exhaust is nice, can’t beat a shotgun exhaust on a Scrambler.

That's looking awesome mate. And the sound.... the sound..... so fruity. Can't wait to get the Squadron together to get the full stereo effect. Through a tunnel! 😂 And motocamping, and now adventures! BRING ON THE SUNSHINE!!

Bike is looking and sounding great mate 🙂 Am looking forward to the camping trip... although it feels like half the year will have gone by then... hopefully there will be other awesome adventures prior to it, even if just single day ones! 🙂

Love the Street scrambler. I took one for a test ride in May 17 when they first came out. At 5-11 and 19 stone it felt a little on the small side for me but a cracking bike I would still love to own. Getting older iv lost the need for speed and this bike is back on the wish list.! Theres room in the garage for another bike and they are now affordable so hey ho. 🙂

Huzzah!! Gorgeous… No such thing as pipes being too loud??!! I wouldn’t tail tidy it, it looks nicely proportioned as it is? How about spraying the black panel behind the new triumph logo khaki green or gold? Just a thought! I look forward to riding with that this year! Tally Bally Ho!!
@Phil480
@Phil480 6 месяцев назад
Good shout on the panel, I have a bit of gold filament, might try that. Your thoughts on the tail tidy does surprise me!

@@Phil480 normally I’d say tail tidy it, but as I said, looks lovely proportioned as it is and also gives you more space for camping stuff!

I never noticed the front fender looking out of place till you pointed it out. I thought briefly that you'd stuck VW beetle pipes on 🤣 I remember taking a Suzuki out and put fuel in it. Wondered why it wouldn't start even in neutral with the side stand up.

Bring the spring. You said it. I've had enough. It's like green laning but on normal roads. On a sportsbike........

I ride mine in all weathers so kept the standard low level front mudguard and also added a mud flap. I re profiled the mudguard with careful use of a heat gun to more closely match the bigger front wheel on the SS. It came with the Triumph high level guard when I bought it and was the first thing I removed, completely useless!! A tail tidy is out for me, virtually zero protection from road crap in wet weather. 👎I've kept the OEM silencers as they're plenty loud enough for me and look quite good IMO. I've had loud pipes on bikes in the past but now find them a proper PITA on long rides. I fitted the Triumph shorty levers and find they really improve feel.👍 I also found the OEM rear "carrier" is also grade 1 useless so ended up making my own to fit in it's place. I upgraded the mediocre front lighting to LED for much better night time performance. I stuck with the OEM mirrors which work great but come in for a lot of stick regarding their looks but that doesn't bother me. Bar end mirrors can also work well but are a liability when filtering through traffic. I've never really thought much about the "Street Scrambler" badging so left it be. It also came with the Triumph aluminium sump guard which helps keep the bottom end clean and is very useful for jacking the bike up!😀👍. I have tried it on a couple of very tame green lanes but with a 90/10% road bias, anything more serious and it's way out of it's depth. Not the fastest bike around by any stretch but still a great ride!👍

Good idea with the mudguard and mud flap! Short levers! They are definitely on the list, I forgot I wanted those haha. Aluminium sump guard would be another good addition, actually I wouldn't want to take it on any lanes without that protection at least.

Yo, on your previous Scrambler when you fitted the Beetle pipes, did you re-map it yourself or go to someone? Cheers. (I just did the Beetle mod 🙂)

That's looking significantly more scrambler-y! Are you having any issues with airflow through the radiator? It looked like the raised fender was blocking a lot of it.
@Phil480
@Phil480 6 месяцев назад
It's early days yet, and with it being much cooler here I don't think it's going to be an issue. Will see what it's like in summer. If it is a problem, then I can just cut it down if I was to keep it this way.

Have you had any more starting issues? If it's the original battery, over 5 years old, I would put a new one on.

Phil any problem with heat on the legs with the high pipes? I’m short like you so wanted to know especially when I’m stop at a light
@Phil480
@Phil480 6 месяцев назад
Not for me, the heat shielding does a good job. I also wear kevlar lined jeans which probably helps with a bit of the heat protection.
@bjornbusuttil5581
@bjornbusuttil5581 3 месяца назад
What about a pillion....legs will be ok with the pips,?
@Phil480
@Phil480 3 месяца назад
Probably not, as there is no heat shielding against the pipes where a pillion's legs would go. However that is not an issue on mine because I've removed the pillion pegs and kept the little luggage rack that sits in place of where the pillion seat usually goes, so I have no intention of taking a pillion.

Where are the bar-ends mirrors from?
@Phil480

They were already on the bike when I bought it. I'm pretty sure they are the TEC ones
@trevorphillips3055
@trevorphillips3055 6 месяцев назад
Hi Phil, did you fit the yss rear shocks? What do you think of them?
@Phil480
@Phil480 6 месяцев назад
No, they were already on when I bought it. I do want to try a stock version of the bike to see what the difference is, as I think the YSS shocks are a bit too firm (some bumps can be harsh) and have been set up for a lower ride height. They are adjustable so I'll have a tweak around with them during summer.
@trevorphillips3055
@trevorphillips3055 6 месяцев назад
@Phil480 Definitely worth a twiddle, hope you can make it better. 👍🏻

Is it significantly louder than stock exhaust? I am considering buying it myself, but dont want to get tired on longer trips due to noise. Should be easy to install baffles?
@Phil480
@Phil480 2 месяца назад
It is quite a bit louder than stock for sure. I’ve not done any long trips yet, but so far as long as I’ve got my ear plugs in I don’t have a problem with the noise. I think I saw they have done a new version now which comes with removable baffles.
@OverEntusiast

@@Phil480 You are right but unfortunately I believe its only on the scrambler 1200
@Phil480
@Phil480 2 месяца назад
@@OverEntusiast ahh, well hopefully they will do one for the 900 soon. I guess you can fit some universal baffles further into the end of the pipes and drill a hole to line up with the securing lug to hold them in place but seems a shame to drill them.
@OverEntusiast
@OverEntusiast 2 месяца назад
@@Phil480 Ill send them an email to see what they can do. I agree, would be a shame to drill holes. Thanks for sharing

Arrow exhaust sounds and looks better than that brother but your Bike rocks
@Phil480
@Phil480 2 месяца назад
I didn't think they did an Arrow one for these? The official one Triumph sold was a Vance & Hines, which does sound great! The previous generation Scrambler had an Arrow option, which was an awesome sound.
