I wasn't the guy who initially commented about the crystal oscillators. I did make a comment on his that I'd like to see the real small ones done, as I've not been doing this as long as most. I've watch all your vids so I "was" aware of the screw driver technique, I even grind it down but about 4 months ago the tip broke and I didn't fix it or remember your previous advise. So on the real small ones I've been crushing them too recently. Time to get the grinder out! AS USUAL YOU DIDN'T DISAPPOINT, GREAT VIDEO!!!!

Man, sometimes it takes me 3 hours to watch a 1 hour scrap out video, which is not a bad thing because I learn so much. I can't help but pause when Ben shows the model or part numbers of anything he scraps, open new tab - quick google search (hmm, that's interesting, I wonder how much it costs???) ebay search (wow, that's cool) rewind, recap. Next item same thing.

this guy has to be one of the few scrappers in his area/country, the amount of increadible chips he gets is amaiz, so much so he could afford to be picky about what he takes off the board n dumps to ewaste the rest. he could literally stack golden 24k bricks to the ceiling in his home. thanks for the vid e-ben, im always watching while doing the same here in los angels.

wow ,, that projector is amazing , ok people say its not worth much , but its not about the money , its about the history , people just don't make stuff like that any more and should be kept,, thats way i feel any ways , and i'm no expert!

Wow, what a dope, scrapping pullable logic IC's for gold when their value to electronics hobbyists is ten times that. Reminds me of an eBay seller who tried to recycle the useless control cards from a system, but threw the £100 backplane and the £300 rack in the bin.

Hey, i just come across this video of yours. I used this AAS many many years ago. Can't believe that they are still around. The mirror was used to receive light through a flame. That gave a reading on the element you were recording. In my case, gold. You did a good here. I am still stunned they are still around

Lately I find the comments section of Bens videos slightly more entertaining.. His critics "eBay powersellers" and "vintage component collectors" are quick to demonstrate their "knowledge".. yet fail to understand the definition of Ewaste/scrapping and what's of value to Ben is to provide value to his followers. But what most people probably don't know is that Ben has "intelligence".. his videos are high quality, consistent and engaging.. he has "youtube/Google love".. so while the shortsighted critics are busy posting futile comments, Ben is busy building an empire which already pays dividends.. awesome direction, keep up the smart work dude. the atomic absorption machine is usually attached to a computer that runs a program to actually analyze the data. the part you have just draws up the chemicals and then vaporizes them. The computer is what actually does the hard work of analyzing hahaha (have worked with those machines before)

Interesting projector - have you considered contacting GE and asking about it? Since it doesn't have logos, it might be a prototype. They might be interested in buying it back for a museum. You do some very interesting scrapping projects.

Yo Benny Talaria was the brand name of a large-venue video projector from General Electric introduced in 1983. There is a non working one on eBay selling for parts @$245 plus $1000 shipping cost from the U.S. I'm not sure why the shipping cost that much but yeah that machine for sure worth $$$money$$$. Check it out on eBay. Find away to turn it on and see if it works, might be in the thousands of it does. Please keep us updated with the progress. I'm dying to know what you can get for it. Cheers keep up the good work.

Early prototypes typically don’t have all the country specific warnings. AU has a notoriously difficult regulatory system. Companies spend years getting past them. Bravo on not firing up vintage gear. I buy lots of it cheap because people flip that switch. The remote is called “a dongle box.” GE and others perfected these with big iron industrial cranes. CA 1950.

the gold banded small flat oscillators are gold, most others are mostly silver but can have gold too, there's older ones with gold bases, they would have a little gold inside too

At 25:54 they have the very porous tantalum pentoxide. It's porous for higher capacitance. And at 27:45 that big 40 pin chip is an Intersil IC7117 display driver and appears to be about 81 to 83 vintage which gives the build date of the AAS.

if u hav any old electronics u dont want to scrap try getting in touch with the youtube channel MrCalsonsLab he makes vids on all old electronics n repairs them it might b a good alternative to make more money than scrapping certain items he also has a knack for digging up all available info on the product too or try one of the restoration channels too or u could always try EEVBlog

colleges n universities r a very good source for scrap electronics cos here in the uk they get charged for their e-waste to get taken away n even then its just dumped n scrapped for steel n aluminum and they tend to hav entire orders of 50-100+ pc's that they replace

@@eWasteBen Oh Ok. I will try to get a photo of what I found. They look like crystal osillators completely gold but smaller than normal so was not sure what they are. I want to say that you videos and channel are excellent. Your videos are what got me into ewaste. My wife and I always await your newest videos. We now have regular clients that are mostly computer stores, tech companies, and we even get van loads from local Apple stores often. That is where I found the tiny gold crystal osillator looking things. Thank you for brining your expertise to the world. Does titanium scrap have any value? That burner head (this thing here 13:58) is some kind of titanium alloy. There is acetylene flame and there can be really acidic environment so it is not aluminium.

The optics in that AA were worth a fortune. The gauge you destroyed at the start sells for about $50 US. Please do more research. You’re destroying history.

Get a heat gun and toaster oven. At 375-425 F you can scrape all the parts off a board. If you study a little, work eBay, etc., you’re going to make 100X what you get from “gold recovery.” I guess I get bent at your videos because I see you destroying parts I have been searching for daily - for decades. You’re destroying things of significance, loosing money and, worst of all, teaching others to do the same. Sit back. Do some research. Be part of the community of restoration experts. Gods forbid you invest in a quality tube tester. I know several guys making six figures US just by learning something.
