@@MediCali951 the officer made the choice to continue the pursuit , that’s why it’s under investigation now . They called it off but he kept going and 2 min later he crashed, what exactly did I say that was disrespectful? , his own police station said they called it off , then he crashed later , yes he was in pursuit while they called it off , but for whatever reason he did not stop , he continued . How is that being disrespectful? Smh
Sincere condolences to the family, the fellow police officers and friends of the lost police officer. Hopefully, the other police officer, who was injured in the crash, will make a full and complete recovery. Clearly, I have no words for the deceased suspect. These high-speed pursuits are deadly. In the past twenty years or so several thousand people have lost their life; innocent citizens, police officers and suspects. It underscores the need to have police cruisers equipped with remote engine disabling devices which would prevent the suspect vehicle from continuing to be operated. If we can control spacecraft going to Mars, surely, we can do this. To those who are already thinking that this device would another step toward a state overreach my response is this: study your history, there are many examples of true police state controls. With the legal protections in law and the awareness of citizenry in general this is not on the horizon. In the trucking industry we have speed limiters, and we have no issue with this. We have mandatory seat belts, and we have no issue with this. As it is now, we lose over fifty thousand lives each year on the roads of the nation. That number would be much higher without the seat belts. While we are on this topic, with regard to fatalities caused by drunk drivers the penalties should be very high, minimum mandatory thirty years across the country. As it is, half of all fatalities in crashes on the roads are caused by a drunk driver. This is a staggering fact. Thanks for reading. Hopefully, again, the injured police officer will recover and continue his/her career.
Yes, they are...very true. Protesters get to go home at the end of the rant. Following a hearse, a medical examiner's van, a caisson is literally the end of the road. A moment of silence for you, drexlspivey3047, as you ponder life experiences.
Monday morning quarterbacks and back seat drivers sharing their opinions automatically pointing fingers and shaming those in uniform involved, witnesses telling their version seem to detach themselves that a person lost their life, who happened to be a police officer who worked to protect and serve his community. While the other is fighting for his life all caused by another who lost his life who did not care for the safety of others who chose to break the law, his choice cost a police officer his life another to suffer and fight for his and he paid with his own life. My condolences to the family of the fallen officer on his last watch and prayers to the family of the injured officer and to the family of the suspect, you should have cared more to raise him to be a better person and what he caused you should be ashamed of him none of this would have happened had he pulled over and taken responsibility.
Speeding is out of control in our city, because of that we los a officer, we need to stop the speeding now Look at 54th st ,Euclid & Imperial ,Euclid & Logan ave .
What a waste of tax payers money's. That's life people die everyday and we don't shut down streets for the whole cities citizens to mourn. Also a police officers job is not that dangerous. A street bum has a more risky mortality rate. The street bum has all the population plus the cops
I can't understand why some people are blaming the police for a hard chase. They argue that no chase, no accident. Just imagine that you and the members of your family are kidnapped. So, the police should let the Kidnappers go with you and your family. Just imagine that your one million worth of car was stolen from you at gun point, and you quickly informed the police officers nearby. And they told you sorry, they would't chase him. Disobedience comes before a chase.
HERES A HUGE COST OF OUR TAXPAYER MONEY.....WTF.....Have them use their own cars....What a waste. They never have this crap when an office shoots an innocent civilian......
