Hi Richard, Great video!! I have an R7000 with dd-wrt firmware running, but I have forgotten my password, my question is "Do I need re-install the Netgear firmware first and then re-install dd-wrt firmware, in order to reset the dd-wrt password? Or will the 7 second reset accomplish the same thing?"

After I installed the Netgear flash bios per your instructions, I got to the point of being prompted for the userid and password. Just like you, I had problems with the default for both. I pressed the reset button but that did not work. I have tried turning off the PC and router and rebooting but to no avail. I tried a different browser and still it will not accept the login. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Boot the router up completely (till the lights settle down give it 5 minutes) then hold the reset button for 7 or 8 seconds and try again. Also connect it to the modem on the Internet WAN port too. It's seems to want Internet connectivity as part of the password process. Thanks I overlooked it Thanks for your reply, when I download the firmware and connect the router to my imac I will not have internet because this is the only router I will need internet to complete the installation isn't that correct if so how will I be able to complete the installation

If you can't access the internet because your router is not functioning, you can connect your iMac to the router directly see this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MUvy9v1JWp8.html if you can 't achieve that connection you could use the "hot spot" on your phone to connect the iMac to that or go to a public WIFI to get the firmware or use a USB thumb drive at your friend's home to get it that way.
