Palpatine’s plan in a nutshell: slowly turn the Republic into an Empire through the Clone Wars by villianizing the Separatists and also destroy the Jedi and get the galaxy to give up their freedom willingly.
In addition to destroying the Jedi he also would destroy their image to the people of the Republic through out the war, so that the majority of the people wouldn’t care if they were wiped out.

Good question, "How does playing both sides of the war (benefit) Palpatine"? First, by fueling the galaxy with fear, anger and hate, Palpatine is fueling his power,because don't forget that Sith gain their power that way. Second, by having this war and playing both sides, he's weakening planetary systems and also killing off his enemies in the process, aka the Jedi. Already, since the start of the war MANY Jedi have already fallen, aka, Episode 2 with the battle on Genosis ,how many died during the arena battle. This will make Order 66 a lot easier, because there won't be as many Jedi to execute.
This is not even the most important thing, Palpatine and Dooku provoked the war, and in this war the Jedi Order took on the burden of waging it as generals of the Republic army. This gave the jedi the appearance that they would control the situation, but in reality they were only losing the purpose and mission of their own order. From defenders of peace they became soldiers and the war absorbed their attention. Due to this, many inhabitants of the galaxy lost trust in the Jedi Order, which is why no one protested during Order 66. Additionally, the Clone Wars scattered the Jedi Knights throughout the galaxy, so Order 66 was also easier to execute, because apart from attacking Jedi temples, it mostly involved killing individual and scattered Jedi. Additionally, due to the war, at a crucial moment for Palpatine, many of the masters from the highest jedi council (primarily Yoda, Obi Wan and Plo Koon) were away from Coruscant, which meant that Mace Windu could only gather a small team of powerful jedi masters on site to confront Darth. Sidious. To sum up, Palpatine played both sides perfectly, using the separatists as pawns to create the right mood in the Galaxy for the creation of the Empire and the takeover of power by the Sith.
19:02 That's exactly what Palpatine did. He got all the systems fed up with corruption to try and leave the republic and form the separatists. This meant that he had basically had full control over all the world's left in the republic. He kept the fighting going so he could kill as many Jedi as possible before order 66 and so he could amass more power. In the end he successfully destroyed the Jedi and swiftly brought separatists world's under his heel.

As you witnessed in your last reaction there are additional scenes in the episodes on Disney +. For instance there was a whole scene with Boil, Waxer and Kenobi in the beginning of episode 20, but in the version you're watching it cut up the scene. There was also a whole scene with the Tactical Droid and the Gutkurr creatures, but that scene was cut out pretty much entirely.
@@GamingWithJas-ff4yf Yah, it's weird. I remember there were DVD releases of certain arcs (mostly S1). I had a few of them and they did edit scenes out for some reason, IDK why. Cause in the full Season DVDs, all the scenes were there. Also you can more easily tell, since basically all the episodes in the show is 22 minutes or so. So if it's less than that, then scenes were cut. Like how the scene explaining the organic decimator was cut in S7.
The first episode of this video is one of my favorites, idc if anyone gets mad but that little twilek girl appears in another show. Rebels. She makes small appearances. She wears a bit of clone armor from the ones we met, and has a drawing of the little doll. I’m glad we get to see she survived and fights for freedom, like her brothers the two clones that she ran into.
19:27 He was letting the war play out and using the clone wars to gain Anakins trust and brainwash him so by the end of the 2 year clone war he would be able to execute order 66 and kill the Jedi with Anakins help. By the end of the clone wars the Republix and the Separatists both lost the war and Palpatine had succeeded in his plan. In later seasons the reason the clones betrayed the Jedi will be revealed. Edit: I'd also like to point out he was waiting for the clones to get stronger and the jedi numbers to decrease, if the jedi were to bond and create trust with the clones then it would be surprising after 2 years that the clones suddenly betray them on their missions.
Dooku warned that cyborg guy to not fight with Mace Windu. Dooku of all people knows that Mace is someone you shouldn't fuck with. Mace, Dooku, and Yoda were the best of the best in the jedi order. Each of them are capable of challenging Palpatine as near equals. There is also a big debate on if Dooku or Mace Windu would win in a duel. Here's how I see it. As a jedi Dooku would win. As a sith he'd lose. There are a few reasons for that. Mace Windu's fighting style can weaponize the dark side of an opponent against them. And since the dark side has significantly aged Dooku his stamina is greatly reduced. Those two reasons give Mace an advantage if they ever met again in the clone wars. Dooku tires out from a prolonged duel while the dark side of Mace's opponent gives him a temporary boost in power. While Dooku is arguably the best duelist he would not be able to withstand a prolonged fight against Mace. As a jedi he wouldn't have those weaknesses and would win. Mace molded himself into the best jedi to deal with dark side users but he rarely got to use that talent.
The Clone Wars has 2 main objectives 1) Increase Palpatine power within the Republic until he is able to fully take over and turn it into the empire. (Which he can ensure that the Republic wins by playing both sides). 2) Weaken the Jedi and kill off several of them. It also establishes a bond between the clones and Jedi making it easier for order 66 to kill them off.
3. Taking control of as many neutral systems as possible by making the Separatists enslave the planets so that the Republic could "free" them and offer them protection from the evil Separatists, giving Palpatine control of pretty much the entire Galaxy.
Love the star wars content Don, love from the states!! Also please watch Andor! It is amazing. Got some good action but its more of a star wars story. It has Cassian Andor from Rouge one, it goes into why he joined and how he joined the rebellion. Some of the best modern drama in my opinion. Ever episode had me on the edge of my seat! Cheers!
Basically what Palpatine is trying to do here is increase the size of the army for Order 66, to have a loyal army once he converts the Republic into the Empire. Also there are a lot of other big players that he needs to get control over, like the trade federacy and the Banking clan (this clan handles most of the transactions in the galaxy and is responsible for the credits). By playing both sides he can create conflicts that require involved parties to make decisions he needs as preparation for his take-over. Also sending Jedi as generals to the battles may cause some of them to die which is he ultimate goal
It makes a lot more sense to look in the Chronological Order, bc many arcs are cutted in many Episodes and if u look CW from S1-S7 sometimes u watch an Arc begins but then u are in a whole other arc next episode etc etc. Particularly between S1-S3, from season 4 the CW makers paid more attention to keeping the arcs together
If I recall correctly, another big part of why the episodes are out of order is because of the production schedule, I remember watching some behind-the-scenes type videos on the Clone Wars and the animation crew talk about how the Grevious-Kidnaps-R2-D2 arc was actually the first one they finished animating, but it ended up being put in the middle of the season, so the animation quality on that arc is especially bad compared to the rest - they just hadn't gotten into the groove of things yet and for whatever reason shuffled around the episode release order. The timeline you have to follow smooths out eventually, I think the creators of the show also realized it was becomming confusing for people, they made an effort to just keep stuff advancing in a single direction instead of doing flashback type episodes.
We often don't see the separatists winning because the show is heavily focused on Anakin/Ahsoka/Kenobi and 501st legion,and they basically always win. However without Palpatine's intervention in episode 3 the Republic would have lost the war simply because of sheer numbers and a stronger economy
The Jedi are peacekeepers. They aren't supposed to be soldiers. By putting them in the position of generals and military commanders, he took them farther and farther away from their center. Weakening them as a whole. With the republic, he gradually gained more and more power by being granted "special powers" by the Senate as the war progressed, until he was able to turn the Republic into the Empire. He also used the Jedi to accomplish this. With the separatists, he was able to consolidate the private resources of the galactic republic and the separatists. for himself. Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sideous was playing all sides against the middle leaving on and only one winner. Him.
Palpatine needs to play both sides because the separatists have to go as well,and in controlling both factions he can plan almost everything,like which jedi send against which armies etcetera. For example he specifically forbade Grievous to engage Anakin,the reason is that because in episode 3 it's implied they never met before,the in-universe explanation is that Palpatine feared that Grievous would have tried to kill him because of his hatred against the jedi

8:16 they need to have a certain amount of something called midichlorians. You can look it up im not that knowledgeable about them other than the creator of star wars inspired them by mitochondria.
So Clone Wars kinda was just kinda serialized, they would show episodes at random on Cartoon Network so the order didn’t really matter back then. Wasn’t until like end of season 4 that the series became more linear So you could technically watch season 1-3 in any order you want but I wouldn’t recommend it cause the show has arcs where like 2-3 episodes are bundled together in one story
So in short, I’d recommend just watching it like you would any show, don’t worry about chronological order cause it doesn’t matter. By the time the chronological timeline matters, they already started making the show linear
Also it’s just a better experience to watch Star Wars the exact way every fan did, in release order, you get to experience Star Wars instead of just watching Star Wars…
Let's never talk about Star Wars canon. Yeah there was small inconsistencies in the old EU but it was mostly consistent. As good as Clone Wars is, it fucks with the canon way too much
@@rxdntpto There are quite a few things but I'll name a few 1) Anakin's Status: According to the original Clone Wars Microseries, Anakin was made a Knight much later into the Clone Wars, much closer to the events of Revenge of the Sith. The Clone Wars he's watching seems to portray it as him being promoted not too long after the Battle of Geonosis 2) Barris Offee and Quinlan Vos: I'm grouping these two together as they basically suffer the same problem. While Barris is mostly kept in tact, her actions are way out of character even if her reasoning is sound. In the EU she was one of the most renowned healers of the Jedi Order and acted as a field medic until she died during Order 66. Meanwhile the only thing accurate about Quinlan Vos is his name and unique force ability. His personality is a total 180 going from a very dark gruff Jedi who was friends with Obi Wan to a much more goofy guy who Obi Wan seems indifferent on at best. Also the main storyline he's known for and his romance with Ventress literally cannot happen in the timeline of The Clone Wars cartoon since by the time he shows up in it, he would at least still be under cover and at most fully turned to the dark side as Dooku's apprentice 3) The nerfing of Greivous: This one I'd a little petty by comparison to the others but it's also one of the easiest to point out. It's no secret Grievous is entirely incompetent in The Clone Wars but also his voice is exactly the same as it is in Revenge of the Sith, implying it's always been like that. Prior to this show, not only was Greivous an absolute power house, taking down Ayla Sukura Kiadi Mundi and Shaak Ti all at once, but he was also weakened because Mace Windu used the force to crush his lungs, hence the raspy voice. What may seem like small changes at first actually completely fucks with the events of the EU. Don't get me wrong, I love Clone Wars on its own merit. But it completely fucks with the canon it was originally a part of

George Lucas literally made the Clone wars so how can you say its not canon. 2) The EU isnt canon , so i have no idea why youre comparing Barris and Quinlan to how they were portrayed there. Also Quinlan was in 1 episode so it really doesnt matter. 3) Alot of people say Greivous is nerfed but i think hes portrayed very realistic in the clone wars. Like the only times we see him lose is when he fights Obi, other than that he wins against most Jedi like Kit or Koth. We cant forget that he isnt force sensitive so thats why hes not overly dominant in fights vs force users, but still effective with his Magna Guards.

The Clone Wars micro series as well as the comics in which characters like Quinlan, Ventress and Barris made their appearances were all a part of what is known as the Clone Wars Multi-Media Project. A canon series of comics, video games and cartoons made with George to fill in the gaps between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. So yes, the micro series as well as the entire Clone Wars Multi-Media Project was canon pre-Filoni 2) Even if we say the EU isn't canon (which it was unless actively contradicted by George), the Clone Wars was specifically stated to be a part of the EU despite contradicting it on multiple occasions 3) Except the original Grievous could go toe-to-toe with multiple Jedi Masters. Now he can't even kill Kit Fisto of all people? Part of what made Grievous so intimidating was that he he couldn't use the Force and yet could slaughter even the best of the Order. CG Grievous is just a buffoon who's all bark and no bite
@@connorharnage6697 youre not making sense. Youre saying the comics and the micro series used to be canon which can be true but youre acting like George Lucas is some Disney exec. It was contradicted by George bc that was his vision. Star wars is George so you saying he contradicted it makes no sense. He cant contradict his own creation. And honestly im happy that the comics isnt canon bc it wouldve been too much material to ever consum. I respect as a cool collection of star wars tales that arent neccesary to consume. Now Greivous is a different thing. I feel like lots of people dont understand him. At the end of the day hes a normal being. Whats makes him able to go toe to toe with certain Jedi is the lightsaber training he received from Dooku and his ability to overwhelm Jedi with his 4 lightsabers. But hes voulnerable to the force, so his best bet was to put jedi under alot of pressure when fighting through his 4 arms and magna guards and therefore not allowing them to concentrate and use the force. Also Kit Fisto was a jedi master and practically retreaded. I just love Greivous cause of his confidence that he can beat everyone. Theoretically anybody can go through lightsaber training but i doubt theyd be as effectiven as the General. And the only times we really see him lose is vs Obi. As you can im very passionate about Greivous😂, hes one of my favourites. so if you actually read through everything than fair play.
