Kelsey's husband working overtime selling a lot of stock through his Twitch channel. Continue supporting these two because they really know what they're doing and love doing it.
Really nice to see Kelsey's store going strong through these tough times. Hope all the Metal Jesus Fam are doing well and keeping safe. It will be nice when things get back to normal so we can see a reg and Jesus pick ups video again! 🤘😎
I’ve been binge watching your videos & the MJR crew throughout this whole Covid-19 lockdown and appreciate all of the info you share. Particularly enjoy the “hidden gems” videos. Glad some local game stores are finally open to hunt some of them down. Shout out to Radical Reggie and his great vids as well!!! 🎮🕹🤘🏽
Yup, did the same at three of my local stores. Spent around $4500 between games and consoles. Actually doing a video and photo shoot for one of the managers to give him some exposure here. Got some amazing pickups for the gaming rooms.
Army of two was one of the first 360 games I've played with friends and man. Definitely a modern gears of war kinda feel for sure! Loved it when you keep playing the game to pimp out your guns and make them look so nice. Probably one of the first games to introduce that concept of pimping out guns I feel like.
All respect to Jason and Kelsey. You are two of the best people in the collector/proprietor hobby. Thanks so much for just being you and doing what you do.
I would so love to hang with MetalJesus and his friends to play games with. They all seem so cool and down to earth. This type of circle of friends is priceless and genuine.
Some more context for those of you not familiar with the popularity of NCAA 14 right now: there is a very popular podcaster from Barstool Sports named Big Cat, who started streaming this game on Twitch. Because there are no sports on TV, a ton of people have been watching it (100k+ per day). He has developed a storyline with his video game coach, and it's been huge on Twitter.
@@richardg5301 Well, masks arent a rule everywhere :) Here in The Netherlands, there hasnt been a lockdown and nobody uses masks (only in public transport a mask is required)
I visited Washington for the first time last month, and it was awesome finally seeing Pink Gorilla after learning about them on your channel! I even saw Kelsey! I totally forgot about Another Castle though 😭
Kelsey's comments on the rise of prices online is super interesting - it's concerning, but it makes sense, as algorithmic pricing generally inflates the prices on everything. Hopefully, as we reopen and meet in person (in shops and at cons), this will help counter-regulate the plague of the algorithm.
There is such thing as a 'supply & demand equilibrium algorithm'. But the way you used the word in your sentence, I am sure you have no clue what the hell you're talking about.
@iTheGeek Not with the likes of Amazon. Someone explained it once about their book, I think it was, on Amazon, that no one was buying but someone had one for resale. Because of the way the algorithm was working it kept upping the price of the book over the months. I think there were two copies and the algo was playing them off each other. Annoying as I can't find the reference now.
@iTheGeek maybe do some actual research, as I have on the nature of algorithmic pricing and how it influences the secondary market - then maybe we can have a productive conversation, instead of your troll-y nonsense.
@@TheStevenWhiting whoa. thanks for posting this! similar things happen on auction sites, maybe not to this degree, but prices still get artificially inflated.
if you play Bionic Commando, my recommendation: play it in hard mode, the mechanics of the game makes so much sense there, you have to be very careful to sneak enemie behind, and stike very agresively...it becomes another game, trust me
It's really awesome to hear Pink Gorilla / Kelsey are trying to keep prices reasonable, even if that means keeping things off the shelf and away from resellers right now. Thanks for a great video (and staying safe while doing it)!
I went to Washington a couple years ago and was dying to check out these stores, especially Pink Gorilla, but never made it there. I can't wait to get back out there to see and help support these awesome stores.
Independent stores will start to return to the UK from Jan 2021. The EU's red tape and high rent strangled small businesses on purpose so we had to purchase goods from Europe. Thankfully were just a few months away from real free trade again 👍
Had the biggest smile on my face when I saw this in my recommended. My favourite type of video, by my favourite RU-vidr? Yes please. This was a joy to watch though! I'd love more. There aren't any retro game stores in my country, so I like to live vicariously through these, haha. It's especially fun now that going outside is so stressful
Love your channel so much man. Metal jesus rocks is just so chill that I can slip off on mistake from these epic vids. Most chill and kindest voice I've heard
I've been meaning to get to Pink Gorilla, since I haven't been in like a year. Hit up Another Castle recently and scored some great classics. But Kelsey is right - there are a lot of games that are getting to prices that raise my eyebrow. They shouldn't be as expensive as they are because they aren't even remotely rare. I've taken a break from eBay lately because of it.
By the way - thank you for how you're handling the price craziness, Kelsey. Especially holding off on selling Switches and that kind of stuff. Resellers are killing those of us that are still trying to pick up games during this pandemic.
That guy that was helping you at the counter at another castle off 99, same guy who helped me a couple days ago, very good customer service, just thought i'd share that because i found that kind of cool, shoutout!!
I told my friend to buy a 2DS when the Switch’s prices went up, but the prices for those went up as well. Even the cheese wedge model is more than it’s $89 retail price.
Seen a similar situation in the second hand vinyl market. Prices for absolutely everything has gone up. Good to see you back out there! Love your videos.
Dude!!! I missed your game hunting videos. When I heard that the retro gaming stores in Quebec were reopening I also immediately went to check out and grow my collection with caution of course.
Why can't I have friends like Metal Jesus? Instead, I'm surrounded by nothing but jokers, ruffians, afternoon farmers, and grumbletonians. A real bunch of foppish white-livered ninnyhammers.
Just want to say a big thank you for setting a good example to your audience by wearing your mask and abiding by recommended health guidelines. Refreshing to see people being responsible!
Nice to see you on the hunt again.I have a retro game store in my area but their prices are stupid high for even common stuff. So I mostly do thrift stores, yard sales and flea markets
Watching this from Sweden, and this really made me realize how little life has changed over here compared to the rest of the world... Yes, people (at least some) are scared, and yeah we're socially distancing and a lot of peoople are working from home, but there's no problem getting into stores, almost no one wears a mask and yeah, bars and pubs never closed. So well, not the point of the video, but eye opening for me.
I recently picked up Nino Kuni for ps3. Been nice to go back to last gen and play games I missed. Btw I love the new edit style! You have the best "game pick up" vids to watch. Rock on brotherman!
I played Army of Two with a friend. I remember that it is pretty fun playing with a friend but I can be challenging at some parts. We never beat it though. I remember single player being tougher because it's another AI. They don't always follow the plan that you've laid out.. 🤣🤣
DPR recordingz yes. It’s in there, I did open the bundle box and everything is there, registration card, safety instructions, controller and the jewel case which is still in its wrapping.. Previous owner, I do know personally and owned an arcade room a while back - but you are correct, it is pointless having something and not knowing if it’s truly inside so I opened the box for peace of mind.
Christopher Last Name I agree with you on that, I do have a long box copy of the game already which I play, don’t really see these bundles around often, it’s one of my favorite games and it came from a buddy of mine.
Love watching these videos M.J R. even if you live on the other side of the USA it is nice seeing and hearing recommendations thanks again glad you are back looking for video games
The Sorrow id actually LOVE to know how it has affected him personally. I understand not wanting to talk due to fear of offending but eff that noise. People are allowed to have an opinion and im curious of his. :)
I really enjoyed this video. It was simple and not overly produced. I also really liked the interview with Kelsey. Maybe you could include another interview with another a different store owner.
Seattle, specifically the region around the city, is where the virus originally broke out in the country. It was terrifying. We locked-down for over a month before it became “politicized”, and while we have gotten new cases like everyone this last week, the actual curve for new cases is has been manageable. It’s not perfect, but most people up here outside are wearing masks and being safe. For perspective: We were #1 in cases now were like, #22. While we’re far from being in the clear it’s been gut wrenching and frankly sad to watch other states the last few months react to the virus.
Hey, thanks for your video on the local Seattle game store scene. Looking for normalcy amid the pandemic. I'm not going out, but I'm happy to watch your channel.
And yes definitely do more Retro Hunting videos Metal Jesus! I spend too much time at home waiting to watch something new for entertainment! LoL! Thanx again for the video!
It's a minor thing, but I think it's rad when you point out when you buy a game just to share with your nephew. I do the same thing with my best friend. Sometimes I'll buy something new just because it has co-op.
Loved this video. Please do more visits to local game stores. I have done a lot of game shopping on eBay , but really miss hitting up our local retro game stores.
Great to see people supporting retro game stores. I’ve been spending as much as I can (maybe too much) at Core Gaming NH. Just trying to do my part. Also, I remember Army of Two being great; start with that!
Missed these kind of videos man! For the Co-Op games you picked up, i highly recommend Army of Two. It has some very unique sections that really makes you feel like you are two close friends watching each others backs.
It's nice to see Seattle getting back to a new normal. When things opened up here in Spokane I burnt through my game money in about 2 hours. It was like being a kid after he got birthday money. Great video Jason.
