For whoever's sake!! May everybody benefit from your brilliant mind and generosity. Noone, ever, explained to me nothing as you do buddy. Thanks a lot.
This is why I think it’s so important to have a looper pedal, best purchase I’ve made as it’s made me suuuuch a better player. The pentatonic scales I was trying to learn and practice didn’t make any sense cause I couldn’t hear how they actually fit into/onto a backing progression. Now I can hear how it works and it’s completely opened up a new door for me. I told myself after I got my new amp (Orange Dark Terror) I would do it justice by actually making an effort to learn more about guitar playing and your vids have helped so much with that, thanks for all these great vids Steve!!
I use the TC electronics Ditto by the way, easily the best, simplest looper pedal out there. Didn’t want some complicated big pedal, and that’s where this pedal shines. You should do a review on it Steve!
Awesome tutorial man. Im an intermediate player on acoustic. Been playing for about 5 years. Was wondering if you could point me to some of your acoustic lessons. Thanks and God Bless!:)
Your a madman Steve! What else is there to do in Fargo but play guitar in -21 degree weather! Thanks for your videos. Is it true every one drives a pickup truck in Fargo?
Thanks for the quick answer! I've been doing that for a long time, too. Hope you understand what I mean, English isn't my native language. I feel it only stretches my muscles in general, but doesn't improve my ability to stretch those fingers by "flexing" the muscles. Let's say I want to play a pull-off lick on the frets 17, 15 and 14 (part of the main solo in Master of Puppets), with my third finger on the 17th fret, second on 15 and first on 14. I just can't play it clean because at that speed, I don't have the "time" to get my fingers in position, stretching them like that causes a lot of tension in my fingers. It's so simple, I just can't seem to do it. And that's funny, because I have no trouble at all playing the Tornado of Souls solo, notorious for it's 12-19 stretch.
You hit it on the head with me. I practice scales and watch lots of videos but no melody when I play. I memorize licks and riffs to play songs but can’t just randomly sound musical on my own. I just keep hoping one day it will just happen and I will make my own musical solos. The concepts of CAGED system and chasing chord progressions are still beyond my comprehension. I know this stuff isn’t easy but I am determined that I will understand it all one day like you.
How would you describe Hendrixs, Page, EVH, Rhoads, and Lifeson just to name a few all “getting it” at such a young age? And being musically advanced so early in life. Just blows my mind thinking about!
mr. Steve in your music theory for life series are your tests and certification you speak of a paid thing. ive been watching and got to lesson 8 for a week one quiz and its not on the video.
