HDPE plastic is the perfect material for non-stick molds used for resin projects. Its non-adhesive quality does away with the need to use any kind of release spray or duct tape. Furthermore, the molds are completely reusable, with a potentially infinite number of times that the mold can be reused.
So, if you´re sick of:
a) the time it takes having to make a different mold for every project,
b) having your mold stick to your project when it comes the time to remove it or
c) having to tape your mold prior to pouring the resin, then a HDPE mold is definitely for you.
One of the points to consider when choosing a HDPE mold is that the thickness of the HDPE is often overlooked. HDPE is an expensive material however only the surface of the HDPE comes into contact with the resin.
Consequently, there is little point in going to the expense of purchasing very thick HDPE molds, at considerable extra expense, when really all that you need is the HDPE surface.

We are also able to sell our molds much cheaper than our competitors as we have done away with unnecessary extras. Small bubble spirit levels are notoriously unreliable, particularly when attached to the removable sides of the mold.
The molds should be placed on a sturdy flat surface, this flat surface should then be levelled using a long spirit level. This will then negate the requirement for adjustable feet.
All the sides of our HDPE molds are machined cut to size and secured with threaded inserts and bolts which allow for easy assembly and de-molding.
Plus, the sides are straight, not tapered like some of the welded HDPE molds on the market, leading to less wasted resin and less finishing work. The molds can be constructed in under a couple of minutes.
As is the case with the majority of molds the only additional requirement is the sealing of the edges with a standard silicon.
