Some stuff I wanted to add after reading some of the comments, particularly regarding the thieves' guns and lmao P3 guy has Armageddon. I think the idea that the thieves' guns won't work in this fight because they're 'not real' is totally missing the point. Of course they're not real, but in the metaverse (which is where they're fighting) they totally work as guns because the enemies believe they're guns. The more intelligent response to this is 'they don't work because SEES/IT could tell they are fake', which is very possible however you have to remember these are extremely lifelike guns, so much so that Iwai is getting himself into some shit for selling fake guns that look so real. If I shot you with a gun that looks real and for all intents and purposes shot a real bullet, your first instinct wouldnt be to stop and think 'this is a fake gun.' And even if they do somehow figure out they're fake, Goro was clearly extremely well aware of the fact that their weaponry is all fake (he uses a fake gun himself when he's in his Crow outfit), yet in the boss fight against him the guns work completely fine. It's fair to argue that Goro was losing his mind (he totally was) or its just a gameplay thing, but either way if a guy who factually knows the weapons aren't real still gets hurt by them then SEES/IT most certainly would. As for the other thing, I totally just forgot I wasn't trying to undermine my boy 3-kun. It's extremely weird to try and figure out a mechanical damage wipe like that, since in a not turn/damage based fight like this it's difficult to figure out how deadly this would necessarily be. Obviously its an absurdly potent attack but how big is its range? Maragidyne is an attack that hits 'everything' but theres no conceivable way it has an effective range of 'the whole fucking arena', same thing applies for Armageddon. And if he does do it, are his teammates safe from the utter destruction he would unleash, or is this going by pussy rules where teammates cant hurt each other? Plus Armageddon uses every single bit of his SP, so if he does use it he's gonna be fucking tired. It's a pretty weird situation to try and figure out so I guess it's up to your interpretation, if you think Armageddon is a wipe then P3 wins, if not then the results are about the same. Ok thank u.

(Honestly, it seems like all of the Phantom Thieves except maybe Futaba are superhuman physically. Persona 3: Minato (Cannon name), didn't offically kill Nyx, only the avatar. However, S.E.E.S is real strong and Minato has 2 main persona. S.E.E.S is smart enough to plan out stuff. they do experience fighting persona users, and Fighting investigation team Persona 4: The Invetigation Team did fight powerfull foes like Ameno-sagiri and Izanami. However, the only ones who who do think and plan are Naoto and Yu. However the do have experience fighting S.E.E.S, plus could dance all night Persona 5: Now the Phantom Theves are smart enough to do successful heist, hack all of Japan. They Successfully Killed the God of creation, Saved the world and have experience fighting persona users, and Satanell Persona 3: Hard fight Persona 4: Good game Persona 5: Would dominate I Have played all three persona games listed and has gotten true ending for all. A lot of you are saying p3 is weak because they couldn't kill but only seal Nyx away. I can't say we have an accurate description of SEES' power because Nyx is above all the most powerful. It isn't even a god it's... something else that erases gods. Gods reach out to Nyx to use its power. Nyx isn't something you can kill. So at the very least you shouldn't dismiss the p3 team because they couldn't kill Nyx. I'm very certain the other teams wouldn't be able to either... Nothing can. The best you can do is hold it off.

They can fight each other as much as they want. Them the P1 and P2 casts can roll up with actual guns, an entire group of people that can switch Personas, and Tatsuya 'I can stop time, survive the universe exploding and borrow the powers of Personas without summoning them' Suou and wipe the floor with the survivors.

Ok, just so we can be clear here: Joker's ultimate persona, in contrast to its name, is not actually Gnosticism Satan. He's closer to a representation of Lucifer. Ironically, Yaldaboth in Gnosticism is a FALSE God, and is more akin to an incarnation of Satan than Satanael.

Persona 5 Royal: I'm about to mess this video up

I think SEES is being underestimated here. For one, they fought in the most intense environment. The Dark Hour had the same physical drain that the TV World has, but it gives the smallest boost. It just allows more persona power/abilities than non Dark Hour time, but not even on the level of the TV World. Evokers are needed only due the Dark Hour being more harsh, as in the TV World they had no need for them. Meanwhile the Metaverse flat out gives the Phantom Thieves more abilities and options. We haven’t seen SEES or the Investigation Team operate in a similar environment. SEES also has the strongest individuals. The biggest advantages the Phantom Thieves have are Futaba, Morgana, and Joker. Everyone else is normal, and Door-kun’s solo fusion spell ability should put him on the same level as Joker. Aigis alone is a massive powerhouse, and most of the SEES members should beat most Phantom Thieves in an equivalent one on one. Plus, Fuka counters any kind of stealth the Phantom Thieves may use. The Phantom Thieves strategy relies on Joker and Morgana. Those two are the brains of the operations, without them, the rest of the team loses a lot of their tactics advantage. While SEES has weaker overall teamwork, each of them function well in isolation. The Phantom Thieves also had the advantage of scoping out their targets and taking time to plan. SEES didn’t get that opportunity, they had to wait until the full moon and improvise every time. They didn’t even have a Morgana or Teddy with built in knowledge, they were working almost entirely blind until near the end. They also have several characters that can fill the leader position in case Door-kun can’t, with Mitsuru, Akihiko, and Aigis all capable to lead. SEES is extremely adaptable. Overall, a lot of the things that make SEES look weaker are muddy. The Dark Hour vs Metaverse, the operating blind, the more individualistic members, and console limitations (flat PS2 environments vs the extremely stylish PS4 stuff) severely muddy the comparison. Phantom Thieves may still win out in the end, but I think SEES definitely has a chance.

For Goro Akechi, I believe he solo’d the palaces by being sneaky and assassinating his targets. And if this is the case, it’s possible for him to be sensed especially by Fuuka, who specializes in sensing life, especially shadows and personas.

I vote Goro joins the investigation Team for game balance reasons.

P3 is the only protagonist to use 2 personas at a time so he's pretty damn strong and I think goro should be in it cause keep in mind aigis is somewhat a wild card user in p3 until fes and they have shinji whose a tank, better fighter than kanji, and has no weakness except a kid and a bullet from a hippy Jesus

So, my personal breakdown would be... Protagonists - Door-kun (Universe Arcana and has the ability to form fusion spells, Armageddon and Infinity are on their own OP, could make it even more OP if we went by Portables rules and have them be usable items with no drawbacks) > Joker > Chad Narukami Support - (from the perspective of combat assistance) Rise > Futaba > Fuuka Mascot Character - Morgana > Teddie > Koromaru (Unless you consider Aigis the mascot character in which case I say she beats Morgana) General team composition - Phantom Thieves > SEES > Investigation Team Now... One thing we could do is include the velvet room assistants for each protagonist to see how that would effect things, in which case Velvet room assistants - Margaret > Elizabeth > Lavenza Another thing to consider is ultimate personas in which case I say... Ultimate Personas - Investigation Team (Naoto has shield of justice which blocks ALL damage for the entire party, Chie has Dragon Hussle which buffs the entire parties attack, defence and hit/evasion, Yukiko has Burning Petals which deals severe fire damage to all opponents, also its worth noting that their 3rd personas allow them to absorb the element they are strong against, and the Investigation team also has special team moves such as Yukiko & Chies and Naoto & Kanji's) > Phantom Thieves > SEES

After Royal this becomes even more imbalanced since the phantom thieves get Akechi back as an official member and thus should be on there team in this and they also get Sumire and while she’s the same level as the other regular thieves that isn’t Joker/Akechi/Futaba she’s still an extra member to help. They also all get tier three personas with OP abilities and there the only team with access to traits.

I just realized something from watching a play-through of the Persona 5 dancing game and that I have a renown light of the P5 group and Futaba as a Navigator that she is a million times better than Rise because during the Social Events of Mona and hers that she can sense they are not alone and can sense the members of SEES and she even has a conversation with Fuuka. Rise couldn't even do that heck during P4AU she needed Fuuka's help to see through the red fog to sense her own team members.

When you mentioned no outside bullshit I just imagined Haru and Mitsuru getting into a Yakuza 0 style money battle. I'm sad that this is not a thing.

Mechanics wise Persona 5 wins due to having more type coverage and being able to dodge nuclear energy, and survive that one big bang equivalent burger attack, and if we count dlc's the P5 protag has all of the protagonists non ultimate personas and some other unique ones.

Goddamn, I never realized how weak the Investigation Team was compared to the Phantom Thieves and SEES before... Also, am I the only one who wants a Persona game where your team is an a coliseum of sorts and you have to fight your way through other teams of Persona users (maybe in a tournament setup or something)? I know the Arena games sort of had something like this, but I'm talking about with the main RPG format. I can't really see something like this being a mainline Persona game, but I could definitely see it being a spinoff or as a special dungeon in one of the main games.

Strongest Team: Phantom Thieves. Best Coordination: Investigation Team. Strongest Protagonist: Minato Arisato. What might make this fair is if you take out the MC and their aces like Aegis, Junpei, Naoto, Rise, and Makoto.

It's like Batman vs Superman. It all depends on how much planning time Phantom Thieves got. EDIT: Nah, I take it back. Didn't think of Futaba hacking Aigis. That shit's on lockdown.

Oh yeah, about Aigis being hacked, I do remember saying that after the answer she cannot be, but everyone is forgetting that she still cannot really be hacked to harm her teammates or even let them come into harm, even when Icuchki or whatever his name was commanded her programming to do so as a sacrifice in the journey she still overcame that to save them. I also said this earlier, but the P3 Protagonist was using exclusively his own power to overcome Nyx, who was accepted to be Eternal and unable to be killed, cause she is death. In the answer it is revealed that not even his own teammates were fully supporting him and the world yearned to die. Even Igor said that he would never imagine seeing this power within his lifetime, that of the Universe Arcana. He does not need Armageddon, and he would likely not lose Aigis even if she was hacked to begin with. His power of the Universe Arcana (which transcended a persona and enabled him to create an Eternal seal that could overcome the wills of all of humanity for all Eternity, alongside become immune to the almighty attribute without a persona) just makes him broken, he found a way to win a fight that literally could not be won through death, Since death cannot die, and where P5 needed the wills of all of humanity to destroy a being humanity created, the P3 protag could fight the wills of all of humanity and arguably even his own friends who supported him to battle a being who had all of Humanity’s support. If we include any form of any of the protagonists, P3 outclasses them. By lore and by feat he does things that soar above all of the other protag by leagues, hell he wasn’t actually even given the Wildcard, he developed it. He just became what he was, over being given the power by the ultimate antagonist to just use friendship to roid it. But yeah, his Ultimate form which is supposed to possess anything between fathomless or actual infinite/omnipotent power without needing anyone else or even a persona would just sweep the others, his weaker forms also reflect that same ability in just awakening to his power and being at or above the rest of the cast; he’ll even Tartarus exploration would lead him to be the only combatants against bosses due to raw power and adaptability, this is pushed further especially through how he like the rest of the P3 cast don’t need to be in a special world to be super powerful, they are always as powerful and can always summon at any time, and unlike P4 or P5; they nurtured and trained in a state where everything was more difficult and even the world itself basically fed on their wills, so going into the TV world or metaverse would likely put them at the same if not higher levels in every trait, since again every fight or series of fights (including Nyx) had to take place within an hour, unlike in P4 or P5 where they had several hours if not half a day for one fight, every fight took place within seconds or minutes. So not only would Aigis illogically be able to be halted by Futaba through an actual feat done during the journey where she ignored her programming and commands to kill the cast before the answer where she transcends being a machine, but the rest of the cast just had more required of them and fought under conditions and with requirements that already outclassed the rest of them, if not just outclassing them in raw ability and strength, if the P3 cast could take blows from and damage Erebus, and combat death itself (both against the wills of the world/even their own wills mind y’all), that would outclass blinding oneself and fighting against control, especially since those both had at least their own casts’ full support. It just isn’t a contest from confirmed lore and feats, even if severely lowballed. Igor would not call the Universe Arcana unfathomable and something beyond what he thought he would witness in his lifetime, and call the P3 protag the best guest he ever had if he was not unfathomably powerful or as Igor said Infinitely powerful and capable of defeating what could not be defeated; where nothing is outside of his power or understanding, and then just ignore saying anything of that scale outside of how P5 overcame terrible odds that were rigged against him (which aren’t even of that scale) if P3 was not a class of his own. Hell he even remarked at the insane potential of the P3 protag when looking through his being at his personas. He is a class his own, same as his companions. Like people look down on Ken for being a grade schooler, but he could still combat death and a terrible apathy, many look down on good boi Koromaru, but he can literally inflict death via fire and darkness and is immune to both, and is one of the few characters confirmed to be capable of killing shadows with no knowledge of and experience with his persona (the other one being Akihiko and the guy from Arena), Aigis is a powerhouse, Akihiko is a powerhouse, Mitsuru has had more experience in this world than any other character ever as far as combat with shadows go (save again the guy from arena and Strega), Junpei is impossible to kill, Yukari is apparently able to shoot you no matter what you do due to wind control, Fuuka is apparently impossible to harm when within her persona, and as much as Shinji gets a bad rep due to dying to bullets (fired from a magnum and several of them btw), people do forget how weapons are amplified by their persona users, that is why they can harm shadows with them, not everyone had to use their fists like Akihiko, so weapons would also grow more powerful and capable of harm through the same reasons, meaning that a bullet is more than bullet level when fired by a persona user. We do not know how powerful those Magnum rounds became. The only real feats of the casts that P3 would lack is that the other two casts fought wildcard users, only exception being that those wildcard users were not using their full potentials (or even that much of it since no Igor or friends), and they even needed to fight together to stand a chance, where the P3 cast was only experienced with Strega as far as Persona users went. But again, Adachi wasn’t really all that strong and only used one persona, and Akechi naturally was strong, but still only used two personas and was not near peak potential. We are also forgetting how SEES members who stayed active after the answer were still fighting shadow anomalies and phenomena as they arose (meaning other events like the dark hour among other things that we never saw and could still be pretty bad) in small groups or even splitting up. So how powerful Akechi is for soloing palaces May not even be all that much compared to even 1-2 P3 members for being able to tackle phenomena that could be easier, as bad, or worse in small groups or while split up. And as much as that is post answer as an example, we are ignoring how that strength was what they possessed potentially even a year after the answer (since there dealings post answer are revealed in Arena), with a year or two more of doing more of that until Arena. So again if they are capable of similar if not greater strengths soon after what we see (knowing how they aren’t that much stronger in the answer cause of playing strength catch up after a long break) to Akechi. Before the Answer (since we aren’t counting how most of the P3 cast has Megidoloan alongside Aigis having the Wildcard) a lot of the P3 cast could just fully heal, most of it actually, and two of the others could apparently regenerate (if we let Shinji breathe), and the other one was apparently super difficult to hit much less injure. This is far more than the P4 cast, and the P5 cast only has two real healers, one of whom is basically made of Paper. And most of the P3 cast can also remove resistances before the answer, meaning that P4 damage absorption personas and P5 nulls mean nothing, everyone can be hit at full force by every P3 character at all times, which hurts bad if you consider only starting personas or only evolved personas for the protags, since break spells are P3 cast staples. That would then potentially eliminate all protags save P4 due to OHKO weaknesses if we do no evolve for them, and not to mention Fuuka is literally incapable of being harmed in her persona like how Futaba is difficult to reach. People also enjoy ignoring how Labrys is an older and more vulnerable model than Aigis, and Aigis May be incapable of being overridden in those ways, and Futaba May have to physically interact with Aigis to do so if even possible, making her very vulnerable.
