I love that boot-up song so much. I just pulled my CDX out of storage a few weeks ago and it, sadly, no longer reads CDs or carts... Impossible to find parts for too :(
@@bucketsaremyfriend If the storage room is not in the right temperature and gets to cold or to much condensation this could rust and corrode the chips inside other wise if it still powers on? Try disconnecting the CDX take some rubbing alcohol and dab it on a Q-tip squeeze out the extra alcohol from the Q-tip make sure its damp just right Q-tip not to wet, then clean the Laser head lens lightly with the Q-tip allow to dry. Make sure you remove dust from the tray try using a dry micro fiber rag make sure it's dry, It'll collect dust like a magnetic device on the rag. Then take a paper towel get it wet with clean water, Then squeeze out all the water MAKE SURE THE WET PAPER TOWEL IS VERY DAMP. Then clean the dust and dirt inside the disk tray. Buy a SEGA GENESIS Cartridge slot cleaner for the system and Cartridges. If the disc are scratched it won't read them and the cartridges and cartridge slot is dirty. If this dont work then the Sega CDX has a bad fuse and it needs replacement. It can be fixed. 🎮🙏🏻☯️🧘🏼♂️⛩🌅🐲🕹
Dude that second Sega logo splash for the classics collection after the checksum screen; is that how Tee Lopes came up with Sonic Mania’s start screen music??
It's just the regular Sega CD startup. Sega should have done something special but this was at a time when most consoles did nothing at startup without a game present. Fun Fact: I believe the very first console with anything but a black flickering screen on startup without a game inserted was the Sega Master System Base. It had a warning message that told you to insert a game into the machine to play it. Also if you hold up and both buttons at the same time while staring at the warning screen (Buttons 1+2) you will find a secret game called Snail Maze...another first by Sega.
Does anyone know someone who could fix my CDX? Cartridge slot works, just doesn’t read discs right. I sent it off to one place for repair and they said they can’t find any lasers for them right now
@@jerryalexis576 yes, obviously it’s the laser. The repair place said they’re having trouble getting new ones now so I’m not sure if they’re even going to be able to attempt to fix it
