I have this for exactly one year now. Bought because of your and Bruce's review. I have not been disappointed. Wore as my daily watch, took it on walks, on hikes, besides simple cleanings I've not had to do anything to maintain it. Looks just as nice as when I bought it, including the clasp, which surprised me. Would buy again without hesitation.
Wow, what a great looking watch. Probably the best Seiko diver I've seen yet. I like that they resisted going too far and just kept it straight forward. I'd absolutely keep it on the rubber strap. Thanks for sharing.
I saw one when I was in Montreal last month -$800CAD. It is a very nice and super comfortable on wrist. I was tempted to buy. Thank you for another great video :)
I wasn't going to get one of these (I already have 5 other variants of the MM200) but I picked up pre-owned mint one for $400. I'm surprised how much I like it. I like all the others on a bracelet but I agree about the rubber strap. I think I'll keep this on a strap. Really glad I bought it.
What is your opinion of the Monster? Personally I do like the watch but I have a hard time calling it a Monster. And I love monsters. I guess it's the outer shape of the bezel that I prefer the old models compared to the new one.
Looks great, would love to see it side to side with a new Turtle so see the size difference. I saw this watch new, yesterday, at a watch store here in town for $750. CAD!
I just received one yesterday. I do have 2 complaints. On my 7" wrist the strap is too long. The tip extends into the lug folds when it is on. The bigger issue is the date wheel is not centered and the date setting mechanism feels irregular at best. Some of the dates center others don't. The eBay vendor agreed to take it back and send me a replacement when his next shipment is in. I'm a little afraid of that. BTW, in case you're wondering, I found it for $725.
What do you think about the SBDC065 Great Blue Hole? I got offered a brand new one for around 840$ USD. It looks amazing but im not sure if its worth it over the 061/063 which is also pretty good.
Looks good, really good. However I personally sad to hear it is 43mm case. Just had a bit of missed expectations when so called Willard looks small on my 7 1/4 wrist. Comparing to perfectly sized 45mm Turtle. Same small effect will happen to this one. So, looks like Sumo pepsi can fit wel with its massive apperance. It is only my opinion😉 Thank you for review 👍
Gnomon has the bracelet. Seiko Bracelet for Prospex SBDC061/63 - Ref. M01X431 × 1. I put one on mine and it looks and feels amazing. I suggest watching some videos on adjusting the bracelet as it uses pins and barrels; if you don’t put the barrels in right after removing links the bracelet will come apart.
Picked one up for $670 Brand New shipped. Not a perfect watch but damn I love it! And yes everyone it's true, the watch wears slot smaller then the size spec. I've got a 37mm Captain Cook looks awesome on my under 6.5" wrist, but yet this 44mm watch looks good too!
Nice watch! I'd buy it but $950 holds me back! Also I'd throw it on a NATO strap. Cause I hate Seikos rubber straps. Lug width is too small imho. Compared to an SKX.
Yes, Seiko divers are all ISO/JIS certified. This is the PADI edition, which is literally "Professional Association of Diver Instructors" so it wouldn't make any sense to not be ISO-certified.
Seiko has me so pissed with them lately, with their horrible qc, new overpricing, and downgrading the SKX, while uping the price, but this watch is just plain cool. As much as I hate Seiko now, I would definitely buy a SPB087 if I had the money. That is a watch that would remind me of why I loved Seiko so much! OH, btw, I would not want a marine master 300, due to having to remove the movement through the front to regulate it, and I would have to regulate it, possibly a few times before it were perfect for me.
Gnomon has the bracelet for $200. I picked one up and it looks fantastic. Make sure you know how to adjust the links as the bracelet uses pins and barrels.
That hour hand is the worst. I’d save a little more and get an actual marinemaster. Btw have you noticed the metal part between the bezel insert and the crystal is unfinished steel? It really stood out to me when I owned a MM200. Like you, I’m a fan of that part of a watch like on the sinn 104
Nice watch but you people paying these elevated prices for Seikos must be millennials and youngsters. Didn't these Seikos used to cost 300 or 400 dollars a few years ago ? Seriously though, I compare how much you pay for run-of-the-mill timepieces with the hundreds I used to pay: I gave 350 UK pounds (in 2011) for a Hamilton chronograph with Valjoux movement. £1250 for a Girard-Perregaux rose gold chronograph. And you people seem to be happy paying 900 bucks for Seikos !?!?!?!?
So weird because most of the time when people are using a Camera it doesn’t really pick up the color difference with the loom but that is night and day difference. You must be using a really nice camera
Nice, but I prefer my skx009. Had the original PADIMAS with wave dial, black/blue coin edge bezel. Meh. Date didn’t situate in the center of the window. Returned. Plus, it was kinda big. The more I see from Seiko, the more I love my skx
i had the padimas too this watch is bigger but wears smaller. theres a big thread on WUS explaining the phenomenon of sbdc050s vs the 060s. one pic they had really shows its the belowling out of the case. because the bezel is only 40-41mm so it kinda wears like a smaller 40mm watch. but long lugs.
PADImas has a diameter of 42.5mm edge to edge of bezel, this one is 41mm. The case dimensions mean almost nothing with Seiko's polishing and case design; the polishing is specifically used to reduce the whole appearance of size, which the new MAS ones do not really have.
Just looked on eBay while watching this and prices were near $1100usd for it. Personally I'm not seeing it. Nice looking watch to be sure. But I don't think its a 4-figure watch.
That’s an absurd price for a 200m watch. Nearly $1k msrp is laughable. Stop being such a pro Seiko fanboy and start being honest in calling Seiko out for rediculous pricing.
