I have used mine for the 3rd time now. It is fitting better to my body and doesnt look loose like in the begining. I wish it was a little bit havier but in the end I believe I’ll choose it instead of my pinack for kata. It is really confortable and suits perfectly after 3 sessions of heavy training and cold washes. Best regards from Brazil! Oss.
My Seishin Gi arrived last night and i was able to unbox it this morning! I was so excited to see the high quality for myself. It is absolutely beautiful and so comfortable. I didn't want to take the pants off because they felt so nice! Thank you for this wonderful Gi. 🙏
A fantastic Gi , before i wear japanese brand, a great quality. But the Seishin Gi offred a fantastic confort in every positions . It’s really amazing. Now i put my Seishin Gi for all karaté training. Thanks a lot Sensei Jesse
Sensei, the Seichin Gi. Would you use it more for kata or kumite? Also I think a great idea for the future would be to have a Heavy Weight Gi from Seichin. I love heavy weight Gi's, and I'm sure I'm not the only one here. :)
Jesus Sanchez The Seishin Gi is not specific for "kata" or "kumite" - it's made for KARATE in the dojo, including all training 👊 But if you want to talk about competition, most people use it for kata.
100% cotton is expensive, and gi use a lot of it. Most gi use cotton blends, which might be natural or semi-synthetic. The stitching on it is probably a superior quality (can’t say since I don’t own one, but stitching is a manufacturing cost), plus profit. $300USD is expensive but it’s something to save up for that you’ll probably love, like anything else, if you’re really into it
You seem like a pretty honest and traditional karateka...i wanna ask you. Do you honestly think Gis make a difference in performance. Like don't we make the Gi or does the gi make us? And how does it help in kumite versus a much cheaper one? Or is it mostly for kata
Thanks! :-) There is actually no equivalent in other brands, neither in material, features nor cut. Seishin is unlike any gi you've ever had! Check www.seishin-international.com to read more 👍
I'm so, so tempted by this. I recently bought a new Blitz gi but I haven't been able gel with it. Im loving the idea of the high waist of the Seishin because that's my pet hate on other gi - getting snagged while stretching/kicking/doing kata. I'll need to save some pennies to get a Seishin (as I've literally just bought my first home). Will there perhaps be any Christmas/New Year deals in the pipeline? Keep up the awesome work!
Okay, I guess I need to ask. I took Tai Chi Chuan training many, many years ago. I never acquired a Kung Fu uniform while training. I wish to start training again after thirty years, but I don't fancy the uniforms for this style. The uniforms remind me of pajamas. Here's my question. Why would it be a good/bad idea to use a Karate/Taekwondo/Judo uniform for Kung Fu?
Because in Kung fu, they don’t wear belts, they don’t use the material commonly found in dogis/ karategis/ gis, I may not be correct but I’m pretty sure Kung fu uniforms are designed to be comfortable for Kung fu. And finally, these karategis are intended for Karate.
Hi Jesse i love what you do and all your videos. Im new to karate in fact im doing my first grading on saturday. Im doing shotokan and i live in the UK. this gi would be perfectly suitable for dojo training? Not at all like the gi we have bought from our dojo. Thank you!
Hi Jesse, I have a Seishin Gi and I love it. I've been trying to buy a blackbelt from you as well but for over a year the embroidery service isn't possible so I chose a different (cheaper) brand. Do you think the embroidery service will be back anytime soon?
The Seishin Gi works well for kumite! But if you want to compete at elite level, you can have an even lighter kumite specific gi. There are other brands who offer this.
The Seishin Gi's unique cotton material is lighter than regular "kata" gi (it looks heavyweight but feels lightweight) which means the wrinkles are very shallow and disappear as soon as you start training. In three years, I have NEVER ironed my gi! And it always looks amazing, right? :-) You have to wash it correctly too. I can record a gi washing video for you, would you like that Lucia?
Nice gi sensei. Does it come in black and sleeveless? I cut off the sleeves on my Mikado gi. The pants is like jogging pants. I prefer to wear compression shorts with my gi kinda like MMA style. Pocket to hold a chocolate bar is so funny. This is why you are the best teacher. *bows*
Jesse, about Gi.. Which brand it's better at your personal opinion, an Arawasa Gi or Seishin Gi and why? I do karate too, Kushin Ryu Style, I don't like to do kumite in tournaments but I like to participate in kata. What do you think? I ask cause I have no experience in Gis specifically for kata. Domo Arigatō.
Ordered the Junior gi and it doesn’t have the high waist quadruple loop waist, it has a regular height elastic waistband :( why?!!! This is so disappointing!!! Description of the junior says High waist quadruple loop.
Hi Nina! We noticed kids were having difficulties tying the strings of the pants.... They kept falling down and their parents had to constantly help them tie them again. 🥋 So now all kids Seishin gi come with an elastic waist, so the child can easily put their pants on themselves. (And they stay up!) 😄 I apologize if this wasn’t made clear in the product description. It should be. May I ask from which webshop you purchased the gi? Thank you! 🌟 Regards, Jesse
The Seishin looks awesome! I think that next year I will buy one, this year I am buying a Hirota (buying one karategi each year). I want to give you an advice: Please stop saying karate in an american way! It sounds very bad from a karate practitioner. Saying Karate with an american accent is like saying anything in japanese with an american accent. Try that and you will know what I mean. Anyway, congratulations with the Seishin and could you please upload some videos with you practicing some Karate? I have never seen you doing any karate and I have been following your website and your youtube channel for some years now.
I am sorry yes it different ... in the case of Seishin since it is based on one's tall so it is best to have either in my case 180 cm as an exact size or 185 cm to have an extra room for movement.
Dear master Enkamp, first of all, I want to thank you for all you have teach to me, regarding the seishin uniform, I'm just about to present a very important exam, and I want to wear a GI proper to the occasion, seishin GI are still in sale? And most important, is it available for Mexico?
Does the dirt on the collar stick after you wash it? because i tell you what, having a super white clean gi with dirty collar does not look nice! Do you offer custom embroidery on the chest/label? Also, im concerned about the cotton, i have a Tokido heavyweight TSA and just noticed the fabric on the arms' creases and pants starts to wear off after only 3 years of use! I would appreciate it if you could answer my questions before making the investment or to direct me to a source which dwells on this..Cheers!
Have you ever seen me with dirt on my collar? :-) If you wash it regularly, that's not a problem! Custom embroidery is only for Seishin black belts. When it comes to durability, I cannot speak for other brands. Visit www.seishin-international.com to learn more.
Hai Sensei Jesse, im considering to buy one. Between Seichin Okinawa Edition, Sechin Gi and Seichin Supreme, which one is the heaviest and thickest material?
Hi Jesse, I've been talking about this gi in my club in Bath UK. People seem to have shown interest in knowing more about it. Is there any place where we could try it before buying it?
Hi Eduardo-san! The Seishin Gi is mainly sold online. However, you will be able to try it at the upcoming WKF World Karate Championship in Austria if you are there. In the UK, the gi is distributed by MAK (Martial Arts Kit) and Hajime Hiro. I'm sure you can visit them to try it on. That being said, if you order from www.seishin-international.com and it doesn't fit, just send it back! Make sure you don't rip the plastic :-) Cheers!

Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to go to Austria but I'll check these stores and see if I can try it. I might be ordering a few for the club after that. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
Hi Jesse, how many ounces of cotton is it? I just bought an Hirota Gi, the Pinacle Serie, which is the highest quality and I do not like their low waist pants. it always falls down when I do katas,. very annoying. Should I go with a high waist? My old Gi had an elastic waist and I just love it and still use those pants with the new Gi. Thanks...Ossu.
Hello I have a question how do u recive a gei like that n also how to get in the Olympics in 2020 once it starts like is there a way to do or something else ?
Profesor, buenas tardes, me podría informar el precio del uniforme para Kata que usted patrocina en éste vídeo... Mi estatura es de 1.70 y mi peso es de 80 kg. Espero su respuesta... Gracias
i like the gi and the concept. i just dont like my gi having a sticked logo on it. i also dont appreciate the lable saying wkf approved. i'm sure many more people will buy this gi when the lable is held traditional and the logo at the neck is removed.
Okinawa Edition is lighter :) Better for sweaty climate, and consists of poly-cotton (ad opposed to 100% cotton) to prevent it from sticking to you. Hope this helps!
