So sena took over nolan right? I had a few Nolan divices . What i loved was that it had a moving sensor (technology now being owned by sena). This had the benefit that if you put away your helmet (or picked it up) it turned off after a while (or turns on). Now sometimes i forget to turn off my sena and the battery goes dead. Please implement this technology.

I am most interested in the aspect of the better sound. I have a 20S that I use for audio since I ride alone. I wear earplugs and have been very disappointed at the lack of volume to overcome the earplugs which I use to keep the wind noise down. Has the sound been improved in volume?

Upgrade helmet and you won't need earplugs.

@@jaimereyes7480 No Helmet will be as effective as earplugs. I bought high end helmet and i still have to wear earplugs for ambient noise cancelling

Jaime Reyes That‘s not very intelligent advice. 1) There are different helmet types geared to different riding purposes and styles. For example, dirt bike/ADV oriented helmets have visors which increase wind noise. 2) Even the most quiet helmets such as ones developed by Schuberth are loud enough to cause minor noise-induced hearing-loss over time. That’s why earplugs are always advisable from a medical perspective.

I gave up on being able to hear the speakers at highway speeds when wearing earplugs. If I'm just cruising on local roads, the volume of the 30K is enough to overcome my "nonoise" brand earplugs. If I know I'm going to be spending time on the freeway (70mph+), then I switch to bone-conducting headphones, which work amazingly well and are not affected by wind noise. I'm glad to see that the clamp kit that comes with the 50s still has the headphone jack!

I use wired earplugs with my Sena. Good sound quality and greatly reduced road or wind noise. Get BigEar BE-1Cs (~$350) if you want/need custom molded. Get PlugFones (~$25) if your ears tolerate regular ear plugs. My current favorites are RiderBuds (~$150) because of the multiple tip options and motorcycle specific design.

The R is ok but imo needs vlogging feature - microSD audio recording of conversations - for video editing. or get your camera stabilization to match GoPro 10 hypersmooth

The main difference between the Sena 50R and 50S is the use of buttons for control on the 50R and a dial on the 50S. Also, the 50S has a slightly higher-capacity battery, delivering an extra hour of Bluetooth and Mesh talk time. 2 sec from Google....

My wife has a Sena Outrush helmet ,I have not been able to link it up to my older 20s Sena headset or my motorcyle, mc dealer tells me other customers have had the same issue with this particular helmet. If I upgrade , Will the 50 series be able to link up with the Sena Outrush helmet.

Finally was able to get mine paired to both my Indian Roadmaster and my cell phone. As well as getting the wifi adapters up and running.

Will your Sena finally connect to Gopro 7 and 8? It is a time of change to profit from sales. A large number of Vlogers are waiting for this. When will the Polish language be available?

To my knowledge that is a Gopro issue and not a Sena issue. Gopro does not want you to use generic only Gopro.

Hi volks and greetings from germany where we are waiting that Sena 50 goes online for purchase (not yet available) Just a quesiton - if i have the 50s and my brother has the old 30k - can we still enter mesh together? So is Mesh 2.0 (from 50s) compatible with Mesh 1.0 (from 30k) Thanks

On May 1st the 30K users get a big firmware update to mesh 2.0 then yes. Until the 30K user updates, no as they run on a different mesh platform. -Alyssa

SENA You need to update software to be able to cancel Wind noise if rider has a helmet where the front of the helmet can flip up and the wind goes louder in the microphone.

With the mesh will a rider be able to disconnect and reconnect without having to stop and repair with all the other helmets ?

I believe when establishing a mesh you can have both an open mesh and private mesh. An open mesh allows for anyone who comes in range to be invited and can join at their leisure. A private mesh will require an invite. If you dip out of range you will reconnect when within range as your Sena will remember the mesh.

for the 30k: everybody holds their main button until: "intercom paring comes on" then ONE person presses th button ONCE and everybody will connect, or you go into mesh by opening the antenna und pressing the button below the antenna once

My friend and I just upgraded our 30K's to Mesh 2.0 Horrible!!!!! The range is about 100 feet and then you lose intercom contact or it cuts out all the time. We turned off Mesh and switched back to bluetooth. When is Sena going to get this right?

Just saw the new released vid where it is announced that 'old' 30k will receive an update by firmware to get access to Mesh 2.0.....with this informaiton i am wondering if it would be clever to spend 100 more/piece only for getting the quickcharge + audio handsfree control + better Speakers. Because rest is more or less the same then. Anyway will go for the 50s as soon as it is available in Germany.

My mates in Australia that still have the cardo units drop out all the time when we ride and won't pair sometimes to other makes. Never have those problems with Sena. I have seen reviews that come out of Europe saying that Cardo units are better but our experience is Cardo sucks. Got a couple of friends in the US and Canada and also say Cardo is old hat and problematic so they all switched to Sena. I have a 10C and its awesome for the last 5 years and used it in all weather conditions. Perfect tech for touring.

Believe the jog dial style is geared more towards street riding whereas the 3 button configuration is geared towards adventure type riding

Sena should update the Software for orher Sena devices. I got the 30s and the 20s evo. They both don‘t do their job. And please get a Modus to pair with Cardo devices.

Might want to skip this and not be their test monkey...again...I bought a 45k bike and they gave me the cheapest model they had made exclusively for that bike on a Harley. I upgraded and got a SRL-01 made exclusively for the Shoei note 2 helmet.....once again...complete difficulty with set up, com connects and voice activations....Again reached out to Sena.....stood in line....Got treated to a robot response telling me to follow the instructions......Fantastic customer support. No buy backs, no upgrades, no make it right customer service at all....after buying 3 different units and having problems with all of them....Its time to move on. Possibly I can be helpful in getting the word out to save people the hassles I went thru.

Never been able to get the Wi-Fi adapter to work, the 50 R is complicated, there is simply too much to remember for each function, too many button pressing combinations. Constantly keeps trying to connect with another rider even though I'm riding on my own in the middle of nowhere. If you have to carry the instructions around its too complicated.

Now that it's been 5 months since this review, is the 50S worth paying $605 for the Due 2 Pack & if so why or if not why?? Had the Cardo FreeCom 4X & had to return them. They wouldn't pair with the other rider/unit & the app was useless, add to many buttons & combos presses/pressing, a small dial & buttons to press/use with no gloves on let along impossible with gloves on. I use a Daytona half helmet but looking for a modular helmet under $350 that I can instal the 50S in. Any suggestions??? Thanks ahead of time to you & anyone else who weighs in on this.

The 30K does have a firmware update available now to add this. However, the 50S and 50R also have the new speakers, direct access to siri/google, 8 languages of voice commands, Bluetooth 5.0, and 9 channels for Mesh. -Alyssa

Worst Customer Service Ever!! Bought one of their expensive helmets thru a retail shop. Couldn't find an accessory so ordered thru Sena. Got nothing but hassel. Impossible to get anyone on the phone. Sent request to cancel order which was ignored. Finally had to dispute charge with my credit card company. That got their attention. Never again. I returned that damn helmet.

sena has a big issue that they just simply don't acknowledge the s20 just shuts down every few min ( and you need to switch it on while driving this can only be noticed when talking to the other rider and is very annoying )

@@bernardlock2728 lol it doesn't matter Sena will say anything to sell their products, I purchased a 50s after I spoke with their customer service, who at that moment, said yes it will connect via intercom mesh to any 30k.......well turns out not true, it WILL do it, but in the future, not in the present...

Firmware updates still horrable. Nothing works, Device manager app, doesnt matter! I think there is NO reason for Sena to fix this....Stone Age! If my friends didn't have Sena, I'd be gone long ago. Current Sena 50R brandnew buggy stuff

This by far the worst configuration setup for a comm application, i have the harman/kardan and Im having a really hard tim figuring out the install as SENA has not updated there documentation for the new application. Also you have removed the spacers the only one large spacer I would need a mid level spacer. Really disapointed and you 50 S is not cheap. Support sucks Im actually thinking of returning this unit for a Cardo I disliked it so much.

sena 50s is complete piece of junk. Battery is showing fully charged on sena utility then as soon as i connect to helmet it switches off “battery low”. I had the unitnfor six months. When it was working frequent disconnect issues.
