If you’re thinking of buying a lavalier microphone for RU-vid this is the mic you want. The Sennheiser AVX MKE2 mic is amazing. Not only does it have amazing audio quality but the AVX system will automatically level out your audio before it goes into your recording device. I’ve saved so much time by not having to post-process my audio. When you’re pumping out at least one video a week plus client work not having to worry about audio is a huge plus. If you choose to invest in this microphone system I only have two minor complaints about it. The first is that it runs on proprietary batteries meaning that when they run out on set you can’t just pop in a fresh set of AA batteries. On the plus side they can run off a USB power bank. The other negative is that you can only use one transmitter and one receiver as a set. I wish that Sennheiser made an option which allowed multiple channels to transmit to one receiver. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase. This is going to be my go-to mic for 90% of my videos going forward. #lavmic #sennheiser #youtubemic

Thanks for watching. How does the Sennheiser sounds did you like it? Did you like the sound of the Sennheiser or the Comica mic more?

Great video. :) I got a pair of these and the handheld mic. The real advantage of these vs. the others that you mention is the frequency they use. These are far more stable in cluttered wireless areas and go through humans better. The others fall out if the transmitter and receiver is blocked by a human body. I think you can get an AA adapter for them btw. But you can also get spare batteries for them instead. I personally dislike AA batteries as I never know when they run out 😅

Thanks for the comment. Appreciated :) I'll have to do a human body test next time I test this mic. lol. How many bodies can it go through. I'll look into that AA adapter. I've never heard of that before. That could be helpful for me. thanks for the heads up. Ya that's the trouble with batteries you never know when they run out. You just have to keep checking the battery indicator to see it there is enough charge left. But I feel like the power banks might be the best choice. They hold the most charge and would probably last the longest. It might be interesting to make a video about it.

thanks for the review! Only thing, I've heard that the receiver doesn't actually run from phantom power, rather it uses the phantom power to turn on and off the receiver when you turn the camera on and off.. :(

Well whoever told you that obviously never read the instruction manual. Sorry for the late response by the way just catching up on come comments I missed. If you plug the receiver into the camera or a recorder it will turn off and on with the camera/recorder and it will also use the power coming from phantom power to run the device. However, the receiver will not charge via phantom power it only charges via the USB port. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the comment. I haven't used those systems before so I can't say anything about them. From what I understand those systems don't use the AVX technology that auto gains the incoming sounds. Also I think those systems allow you to have more mics hooked up to one receiver. But like I said I don't know too much about those system. Maybe one day I'll buy some G4's and test them out against this lav mic.

Hello, I've watched several videos on this unit and it seems a good choice for long conference calls, that I have to do. I've been using a bpsh1 broadcast headset for awhile now but they're making my ears raw and ear drums hurts for certain frequencies, no matter the volume level. Nevertheless, could this system be connected into a audio mixer such as, the Yamaha MG16XU. Moreover, as I've been looking on the web they do make a battry pack from them that takes AA, it's called the Sennheiser B 30 - Battery Sled. Nevertheless, I know it sounds like a dum question, but the reason I ask is because of the auto gain that the unit uses, how would this effect the gain on a audio mixer. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Yes the AVX system auto adjusts the gain coming from the mic to level it out. When recording audio directly to cameras or mixers it would be a good idea to to turn off any auto balancing features. If your mixer and mic are both trying to adjust the audio automatically you'll get some strange distortion. In regards to the battery pack you can buy the B-30 if you want but both the transmitter and receiver will work while plugged into a USB power bank or USB power source. They won't charge while they are on but they will work normally so that's probably the better option. Hope that helps.

Still rocking it? Any benefit of using a zoom f3 with it at all?
@vaskoobscura_
@vaskoobscura_ Год назад
Yup this is my main mic for 99% of my video work. I'm not knowledgeable on the zoom F3 so I can't really speak on it. I would assume it has better preamps then the R5 but again I don't know.

can you connect multiple transmitters?

Each transmitter can only connect to one receiver. If you want two transmitters you'll need two receivers.
