I like the boat. The motor, not so much. Move like a snail for only 1 hour for an incredibly high price. Torqeedo has a lot of work to do before they are practical.

@@acuamundo187 It is because the boat can be assembled - you could fit a considerably larger boat on a trailer than if the design was rigid.

There are V-shaped "self-locating" slots on the hulls, such that the deck is fixed on the two hulls horizontally (at the plane parallel to the water). There are four compression latches that pulls the deck and hulls together vertically to fix the vertical position. No tools necessary for assembly.

1 KW is not 3 hp.

It is not. Read the reason why Torqeedo claims their 1kW motor is equivalent to a "typical" 3hp gasoline outboard: www.torqeedo.com/en/technology-and-environment/performance-and-efficiency.html
