This is my recently received custom Serek Armitage bass guitar equipped with G&L MFD pickups and electronics. It is beautiful in every way, and if you don't like it, then you are wrong.
Switches (top to bottom) - Pickup selector, Series/parallel, Passive/Active/Active + Treble boost

Nice! I appreciate the various tones you get out of that one. I just bought a custom G&L ASAT & can't wait to play with the tone controls on it. It's the one bass I have with more than simple tone & volume controls.

Good lord, AMP, this thing with both pickups in parallel gets the maddest sounds. This shit scoops better than an ice cream scoop, sound killer. The question I have is what's the weight of both your Serek basses because I'm definitely a light bass only gang, however I do graduate in a year and I'd like a uh... graduation gift idea :{D

Thanks so much! My Armitage comes in just under 10lbs. Not sure on the Lincoln, but I would guess around 8.5 or so. They make the bodies pretty thin so weight shouldn’t be an issue with any of their basses.

Some beautiful sounds coming out of those G&L pick ups. What timber has Serek used on the fretboard and how thick and comfortable is the neck ?

Thank you! Mahogony body and maple neck with jatoba fretboard. The neck feels great. Very comfortable in the hand.

Dang that is some CRUNCHY tone. Really sounds good with the overdrive (what are you using for the dirt?) I would love to hear some series/parallel comparisons. Are each of the pickups wired that way individually or is it both pickups together that can gp S/P?

Thank you! No extra overdrive or anything. All of this is recorded on the same Amplitube preset (Fender Bassman-ish) and the only things changing are the bass settings. The pickups are wired individually for series/parallel so that works even if you only have one pickup selected.

It’s 34”. Due to how strong the pickups are, Jake recommended full scale to avoid intonation issues.

Does that have the G&L electronics in it too? How does this sound and play compared to the L-2500?

It's more different than I thought it would be, but both basses have a similar character. The neck pickup in particular is much much better on the Serek though.

Is that basically a l2500 in serek body? Like is preamp cut only? It would be cool if they made it boost/ cut in active.

It's about 3lbs lighter than my L2500 which is significant. Before I ordered the bass, I had an artist do a mock-up so I knew it would all look alright. I like all the models Serek makes, but the Armitage was one I've always had my eye on. Is the bass 34”? I’ve been thinking about getting a 32” 5 string Serek because I f’d up my shoulder a few months ago

Yes, this is 34" scale. I originally had this mocked up as a 32" scale, but there was a concern that with how powerful the magnetic pull is with these pickups, it may cause intonation issues. That said, this bass is still under 10lbs and I played a gig last weekend with a regular strap and it felt really comfortable. The G&L I have would cause me a lot of shoulder pain unless I used a really wide strap, but not an issue with this bass.
