@@veronicacrabtreehill6608 I mean, you would think that people just by seeing that the king's guard is the person on horseback, who is holding the reins, is the only person who should handle the reins because if someone else does it while the guard is on horseback, it could be dangerous to everyone around. It's just obvious. But I get that some tourists are hopeless. (Sorry for the whole parragraph 😅)
@@pabloc.b.9837 You're giving tourists too much credit. I imagine those of them who know little to nothing about horses are thinking "these leather things make a good support/prop..." or "these string things look kinda cool - wonder if they sell them in the gift shop?"
Life time horse owner here. I get it. People have no clue what theyre doing when theyre hanging on to any part of the tack let alone the riens. Or how aggravating the constant rubbing tickling and waving of hands arms clothing etc is to a horse. Most seem not to ever have clapped eyes on a live horse. Luckily, and of course, they are exceptionally well trained but they can all have a bad day. But the general tourist doesnt seem to have 2 operative brain cells to even have a 2nd thought about their actions. And theyre so shocked when theyre told off. So IMO they need a barrier to keep people back plus a pictogram tourist sign with something like a horse with a line drawn through it in a circle to avoid language issues. But my big question is, ok take your picture, but what is the freakin obsession with all the touching? Why do they need to hang on to the horse the rider and any of the kit thats in reach? Not only is it rude but its really wierd.
They don’t speak English, so why doesn’t those people like the person who is doing this video explain to them, you can take photos but don’t touch the rains.
@@tonicaron7585 Probably won't work unless it's translated into dozens of languages. It's a privilege to get up and close for that memorable souvenir photo but so many abuse that privilege. Maybe introduce a barrier for a few months and then the bitchin' and moanin' will start.
That’s because the don’t understand, they don’t speak English, those who do who are their could tell take photos, don’t stand to close, and don’t touch the rains. Anyways there should be a sign to say so, but in saying that they can’t read English so it wouldn’t help.
Where is the the black horse not sure of his name,he bites if they get close grabs hair and pulls backpacks to the ground. Haven’t seen him in a while he certainly get the message across. Still they should know the Guards and horses are on duty.
Have these so called tourists never heard of the word Respect! Would they walk up to a uniformed guard/soldier in their own country and disrespect them. Applause to the Kings guards for their diligence and perseverance. If they want to pet an animal they should get a dog!
How stupid can people be? They take liberties with touching the reigns and then stare back at the guard when he admonishes them. Keep your hands off the horses, they are on duty. When are they finally going to post a sign that says DO NOT TOUCH THE HORSE or STAND BACK FROM THE HORSE.
The horses are not a tourist attraction... the reins control the horse. So many, who dont comprehend how much patience and skill it takes to train these horses, think they can just grab the horse for a photo op.... The people on top of the horses arent mannequins, theyre trained soldiers....
People are just so damn stupid and rude! What makes them think it's ok to grab the reins? No one would grab a strangers dog by the leash yet they go and grab a guards horse! No brain activity in people!!

Personally I think the horse should just step on a foot or toe once and then the problem may resolve itself from nosey visitors grabbing the reins. No reins no brains😂
I suppose it all depends on the guard as to how much they will tolerate. I've watched where multiple people groped, overly touched, and got way to close and the guard did nothing.
I would appreciate knowing why so many people feel the need to touch the horse? Sometimes it's the guard as well. Thank you to someone that can explain this awful behaviour.
I wish the guards would yell at the Karen rubbing and sticking her hand over horses mouths and picking up strangers chilren would get told get away from the horse like this!
@elsestelema6273 I've noticed this too, the horses have enough to tolerate with their ill fitting bits, yet alone being yanked around, guards should either just yell at people or move the horse gently.

There should be a regulation against tourists touching the guards and the horses. The respect towards the guards and their mounts should prime over the public’s amusement. All of those who had been shouted at, deserved it greatly!
Why do the tourists get shocked when grabbing the reins, then laugh at the guard & horse! None of them ever ask for permission to touch the horse or say thank you! So disgusting!
I know this is old but: Troopers in red tunics with white plumes are LifeGuards Troopers in blue tunics with red plumes are Blues and Royals Troopers in camo are either. Blue beret Blues Red beret LifeGuards Troopers in khaki uniforms, flat forage caps, breeches and riding boots are in number 2 uniform - formal not ceremonial. Gentlema in the blue uniform with riding crop and 3 chevrons on the sleeve is the CoH Corporal of Horse and the troopers immidiate commanding officer (note that all ceremonial rank insignia is on the epaulettes on the shoulders) Black and yellow uniform with shako cap and riding boots with a bay horse seen sometimes when the blacks are on leave belong to the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery who take over the guard at HorseGuards in that time.

It is so funny that I just saw your comment. Just this morning someone at work asked me why it mattered if a tourist touched the reins and my answer was "the same reason you don't touch the steering wheel of a car you are not driving... just like the driver of the car, the rider is put in a situation in which he/she no longer has control."
I don't understand why these people must touch the reins. I wouldn't even touched the horses at all. I have been in London as a tourist myself many times, and I don't want to disrespect anyone.
What is the matter with people. Most all are just stupid and have no idea of the dangers. I wish they would close off all tourist to this area. So the kings guard and horse stay safe. 😎❤️👍
I hate these dumb tourists 😢 they are treating the horse and the guard like some kind of tourist attraction. They should never be allowed to touch horse and guard 😡😡😡
