I've been making reversible dresses for a while now (using a velcro closure under the belly) but the wrap around ribbon is a game and style changer! Thank you for the idea, can't wait to try it! If you are new to dog dress making the trick is mainly finding the bodice part that fits your dog correctly, hold on to that! The skirt parts can be modified in many, many different ways and with just about any pattern you want, or free style it. For my own dog, since I know what fits her, I do not use a velcro at the neck, I've learned to modify that several different ways and be sewn closed completely to just slip over her head. This lends a lot of creative license. You can simply sew it shut, make it criss-cross, or make it longer and sew it shut like a bow, etc. I've also created several different collar patterns to fit the bodice to add more variety. Don't forget you can sew on a D-ring for a leash, or a couple button holes to snap a leash into for well mannered dogs, then make a matching leash :) As for this video I'd like to suggest that you iron your fabric flat before you begin to cut and sew it, and iron your seams as you go so it all lays flat and neat. I also developed a one stitch method to attach the skirt easier in one go. If you dont have hot glue (never tried that, does it hold up through the laundry?), there is the iron-on fabric glue tape to use, or just fabric glue. Awesome video, thank you so much! What are your dogs measurements for the stencil?? My sister in law is having a baby so I made a teddy bear for the baby but I have so much fabric left over I want to make a matching dress for her dog but she can’t know. You guys have the same dog PLEASE HELP😭
