I congratulate you on the "lifting" of your years-long burden, Deanna! I am just involved in the "burden" part of my issues right now myself, which started in around 2010, but definitely got going in 2013. I am praying and hoping that I'll experience that "lifting" of my own by end of May or so (am just since yesterday seeing an inkling of light at the end of the tunnel), so that I can start focusing my energies on sewing and quilting the yards and yards of fabric I've been (somewhat obsessively) accumulating since 2012. I have subscribed to your YT channel because I agree we need to support each other (even though it looks like you now have 1.4K followers... I guess you passed the 1K mark in the last 8 days or so -- CONGRATULATIONS on that too!!). Going to watch your jelly roll rope rug video next. Thanks! ~Diana from Toronto

Love those rugs you make. Keep up the good work. I really want one of those bowls. I can see just fine. You are at a perfect angle and i can see what you are doing. Its hard to teach when your body is away from machine. Just love what you share, keep up the teaching. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi Deanna, I too like what your making & you're so excited it feels a bit chaotic. We all appreciate very much that you take the time to share you great ideas, you are definitely FUN! My ideas for the rope: A. Turn the vinyl to the 'suede' side; or use fabric scraps they don't need to match. B. Hot Pads for those casseroles (if any of us still cook!) or give 2 as a gift, wedding shower? C. In stead of coasters: "Mug Rugs" & gift them. I give felted wool tied w/twine, ribbon, string & a tag "Mug Rugs/Hot Pads etc., D. Make a 3 piece desk set: small bowl for paperclips, taller one for pens, more oblong one for scrap paper for quick notes. That rope is stiff enough to do all that, a nice gift. Put pens, pretty paper & paperclips from $ store set. E. Try dying the rope! Watered down Acrylic Paints, water based inks even food coloring. Experiment on a few pieces. I'm always looking for a handmade gift for friends. So thank you so much for the jump start on the brain Deanna!

You can also cover your rope with long skinny strips of fabric and stitch it in there really tight to make piping. Then you can use that piping to "edge" a quilted bag, as an accent. You can look it up on RU-vid, I'm sure there are tutorials on piping-making!

Thank you so much, very kind of you to read my comment & reply. Do you know where Dianna is selling her fabric? I'm not tech savvy, tried her FB link & was lost LOL I also hope you're felling much better.

Hi Deanna, I'm new to your channel and finding it real fun. I have a suggestion, it would help if you faced and held up the items for us to see at the camera and not the monitor (computer) so we can see. I know it can be hard to remember as I get ass backwards with it at times to. I look forward to more of your videos!!

Deanna is really trying her best, I feel. She is new to the RU-vid tutorials and still getting the hang of things as well as working on the improvements. If we could be a bit more patient and offer constructive advice I'm sure things will get better.

Huh. I've never seen these types of rugs, and think they're kind of cool! (This fabric caught my eye in the "Recommended for You" section of YT, because it is very similar to the fabric line I used to make my first quilt, a modified "Jelly roll race". But I'll bet I spent more on mine than you did Deanna... shipping fabric to Canada is pricey, as you must know from the story you told). I think you could make a set of "chargers" (those placemat-like circles to put under your place setting for a dinner). Or a heavy-duty tote bag with this technique (but maybe softer rope). Years ago, I saw a woman make a fabulous bag using only the thick seams of old blue jeans, attached together in a long long long "rope". I aspire to accumulate enough old jeans to have enough seams to try it. Better get to those Thrift stores and start collecting, eh? Thanks for posting this video. ~Diana from Toronto

Marlene great point to make thank you! I was introducing how to sew with rope because we are doing a Jelly Roll Rug Sew Along and I wanted to teach everyone the basics of keeping the rope flat. Then teaching what happens when you start sewing your rope at an angle. The Jelly Roll Rug gets to the size of 39 inches by 40 inches and it is really important to keep the rug flat so the rug doesn't roll or becoming wavy in a way that can't be ironed out. Here are the links to the Jelly Roll Rug Part One video facebook.com/stitchesquilting/videos/10156029532868819/ and the Jelly Roll Rug Part Two Video facebook.com/stitchesquilting/videos/10156041157103819/

Sandy Thomas thank you Sandy for the feedback. I try to stream live to RU-vid, Facebook and Instagram at the same time on three different devises... but I think it’s time to invest in the software to record on one devise and the software pushes it out live to different platforms. Plus.... streaming to three different channels uses a lot of data from our internet. So... I may actually save money! Thank you again for your feedback and encouragement. It’s time to grow in the right way!

Hi Deanna, A couple words of advice for your live streams if you will humor me. I have had the same issues with streaming to multiple channels before. The best platform for that is restream.io and it will save you a lot of effort. Make sure that if you have multiple streams going on you have a way to share comments between platforms as it confuses people that are not seeing comments from other platforms. Also, make sure you are talking from a single camera for all streams to ensure that you are talking to all of your viewers, not just one set :) well I hope that helps you out a little. Keep up the good work and have fun sewing! Pop from the Mom and Pop Quilt Shop

Mom and Pop Quilt Shop POP!!! Thank you sew much!!! I appreciate you recommending a platform! I was just chatting with another sewing blogger that it’s time to get something to help me stream. I couldn’t remember what I researched before and I wake up and there is your kind comment recommending a platform! Yay! And additional tips when implementing that platform! Wow! I can share comments at large for each platform to see! Thank you Thank you!!! If you have any other tips please let me know. My email is deanna@stitchesquilting.com

for everyone yammering on about how bad this is, her talking etc, exactly how many of you are on youtube? make your own hollywood approved videos perfectly before you are bashing someone .. and DUH she wasnt asking how to do something because she didnt know how... she was asking how some one else did it... again DUH... not everyone does the same thing the same way... I just came across her video todayand actually learned a different way to do something ive done since childhood...

You need to find out all of what you need to know before doing your video. Asking how to cover the rope isn’t very interesting to those that tuned in to see your method when your not sure yourself what your doing I. Sorry but you need to go back and watch your videos before presenting them and looking for answers from your viewers. Learned nothing here.
