You know you must have done something right when you release one studio album and 30 years later fans from three different generations attend your reunion concert.
U got it bud ..demerson964@gmail.com..right attitude right music ..I'm 59 ..pistols since 12 years old ..bang some tunes over from the day ..WhatsApp 07760206399
Ditto, K. Ditto! ( I got suspended from my primary school for turning up with ....a pierced ear! I was 10 years old at the time.. Once a rebel; always a rebel.
American punks just never reached the rage of their British counterparts. And I say that cuz I was an American punk in the way back. One of the most eye-opening events of my young life while serving in the Army in the 80's was seeing Killing Joke in Hamburg... Lots of Brits stationed there at the time, and I remembered seeing normally buttoned-down British sergeants [equivalent to US SSG's or SFC's], pillars of Her Majesties Forces, just losing their eff'ing minds and screaming their throats out. Punk, REAL punk, is like the Beatles... a form of rock that spread and influenced the whole world but still remained a curiously British phenomenon.
@@gabix7488 Good point, but I think a key difference is that the Pistols weren't screaming at American society. There was a certain distance in the Pistols' protests that allowed Americans to treat it as entertainment rather than social rage.
Thanks for sharing. I was there. Bruised and battered the next day and for several afterwards. Amazing gig. Had some nights at the Brixton Academy. RIP Rambo.
Steve Jones just plugs in and cranks his iconic LP Custom to 10 and away we go. Brutal. Tight as, Cookey as always solid on drums and the 'Beatles' loving Matlock tight on bass. Brilliant.
Best intro and tune on RU-vid. God bless The Sex Pistols. Iconic band. Taught me to rebel, never take no for an answer from the establishment. Never let anyone walk over me, no matter how hard they were. Did me no harm. Now enjoying a successful career! RIP Sid.
did you fall for the authorization cv lies, did you don a mask as you were ordered to? didja get a shot you can't sue for liability if it harms you, a shot which all ingredients haven't been published for the people to see? really am curious. peace
God damn, I'm 50 years old and I still don't think I've heard a better song intro in my life. The guitar and then the drums kicking in still gives me goosebumps...every single time.
56 years young and I still get them goosebumps when Jones, Matlock and Cook launch into it.... that is until Lydon starts with that PIL voice, worked for PIL John but we miss the Rotton sound js
Gotta say, that guitar is just amazing... Sonically speaking, it is simply wonderful. John's lyrics are just right for it all... Elevates the whole thing. No wonder this song stands up to the test of time. Brilliant!
This f**cking video was my favorite in the past decade, don't ask me how often I watched it, I think too often, and this video stays my favorite in next decade! Sex pistols for ever! God saves the queen.
Never mind the bollocks is probably the only album that changed music in a big direction all at once , ever! They took everything that was done , threw it in the garbage and made music a fun show again. They even managed to add a little social statement on the mix without being whinie , a true genuine classic
It's the best double ever. Well, on a par with Exile maybe ( fans of mick jagger that white n as Jon snarls at one point). . The song Roadrunner sums it up. Delightful; original; rocking; dizturbing; seems chaotic but it is not. Genius
It was actually their single Anarchy In The UK that really changed music, released in 1976. The whole punk music scene was already well and truly up and running by the time the pistols released their album in late 1977.
I remember when the sex pistols first appeared over 40 years ago now ,i was 13 at the time and the buzz they created blew the then british music scene apart .Still gives me that buzz today ,enjoy on here if your not of that generation as back then it was quite something to see .
😂😂😂😂 brilliant!!! My mate met Billy connelly, asked him for his autograph, saying he preferred Robin Williams, Billy asked my mate I'f he had a pen to give him an autograph, my mate said "no", Billy told him to fuck off and ask Robin for a pen! 😂😂
50 maybe but not 60 - if this was 2007 they would've been in their early 50's at most. Also, check out Richard Thompson a British singer song writer and master guitar player - he's 71 and his last album 13 Rivers was incredible. Check out a track of his from the early 80's called Shoot Out the Lights - the electric guitar playing on that is insane!!
Sex Pistols allowed the doors to open up to raw music. Nobody can take that away from them, they shook up squeaky clean manufactured bullshit. The same needs to happen again.
I love it when Steve starts it all off with the first strum of his guitar and the look on his face like hell yeah let’s get this fucking party started. It’s awesome
One of my favorite bands there so good I remember hearing these guys for the first time and just loving the energy and everything about them I wish they would reunite for a tour I would love to see them
Buddy Holly you mean like we did in 1914-1917 and 1939-41 so you fat fucks could sit and stuff your idiot faces with hamburgers? 😂 You have such geniuses....look at your Orange shitgibbon president!
Yes - they are a fantastic live band . Jones and Cook are the heart. Those gents are just metronomes. With Sid they were lesser, with Matlock (as it should be) they are just wow.
Adore this man! There will never be another Johnny Rotten/Lydon 💛 He is the most authentic, true, upfront, organic human I've ever seen. His story, presence, and music is pure gold! I wish I could just sit & have a lager with him & just chat. He's my dream Uncle! So badass but TOTAL sweetheart!
This band will never be repeated. Total genius. Love Sex Pistols and other more modern subversive British acts like Idles, Akala, Kate Tempest, Slaves, Sleaford Mods, Bob Vylan, Allflaws
Fabulous! Love the scene, the vibes of the audience, Johnny Rotten, Matlock, and the buzz this generates in my head. Sex Pistols deserve and have the world's most dedicated fans.
Possibly the most important rock musical piece of our time, not only did it shake up the limp pop and disco music at the time it also introduced the power chord in a big way, bands like Sabbath and Kiss were using the power chord some years before but the Pistols really brought it into the main part of the songs, rock music totally changed after, groups like Deep Purple, Scorpions and especially Thin Lizzy changed their style from a blues to a more punk feeling, without the Pistols there would have been no iron maiden or def leppard, the sound also influenced American bands such as Motley Crue, Wasp and of course Guns N Roses, of course Im not a punk but I really appreciate what these guys created in terms of a musical sound, it cannot also be underestimated how many people were influenced to pick up a guitar , I still play to this day and I have to say I am totally unfluenced by the Sex Pistols
at 53 now i was 12 in 1977 this band and the whole punk movement had a massive impression on me. it blew the whole music industry wide open to new radical ideas which went on to spawn the rivival of ska/ two tone/ new romantics and so on a massive part of my upbringing which i still adore and play to this day so ty the sex pistols ... and pretty vacan,t is still the best intro of all time.
@james morgan I've seen scum in a suit and a tie.... these are pistol- leers happy to drink from the cracked paper cup of British punk rather than the goblet of pretentious bollocks rock.
the best ever start to a song in musical history....i hear this and it stops me in my tracks....this is real music ....kids of today listen to this and educate yourself in how music should be played....
Saw em in 96 at Finsbury Park. The power and energy they produced was incredible. Their sound was so ahead of its time back in the 70s...NMTB was an absolte game changer.
You simply had to be there......and I was, me an my son, at the front! Goldie overstayed his welcome on the decks warning up the crowd. If they hadn't opened those stage doors at that moment then the crowd would have ignited!........Tension like you've never felt, before or since! There always be an England....Yes indeed!!!!!!!
@@pappaslayer1804 I can image that from my place in front of TV. Sheeer class! I have replayed that intro over and over again. This Blu-ray is the only concert i've seen without skipping any songs, except Judas Priest - Epitaph and AC/DC - Let There Be Rock
And there certainly were some C-nTs in that audience!. Glad I was around back in the '70s unlike half that lot. Pistols version of I'm not your Stepping Stone was always my fave.
For a small group of young people out there somewhere today there is a fantastic opportunity to grab it all by the balls and shake it up. It's wide open now for them things have gotten so bad..
Punk is my life and has been since 76 , now in my 50s and still listen to it everyday, the Vibrators were my band but I saw the Pistols twice and they blew my mind and when you see stuff like this it just takes me back to the 70s when we had no hassle just music, o and a few fights.
andrew colley Te envidio !! i have 15 years ! and i love this music.. cuanto hubiera querido ver a los sex pistols en los 70s with sid! but aun tengo la esperanza de ver al vocalista !
