Dungeon Meshi's author made several bonus panels where she drew characters as different races (for example it has Laois as normal, as elf, as half-foot, dwarf and gnome). She drew quite a lot of characters in that way, the main squad, Kabru's team, Canaries and a few other characters

The horse that was eaten was named Anne. Senshi also named the kelpie Anne. He named the kelpie after his beloved horse and doted on it. And sadly, it was a tragedy that both of them were eaten. It must have been sad for Senshi to cook the kelpie.

In fact, last time there was a depiction of the griffin moving like a horse and Laios narrowing his eyes at the attack of its hind legs. By episode 22, he begins to realize that Griffin isn't actually Griffin at all.

Fun fact, it being a Hippogriff originally makes a lot of sense. When it attacked Marcilles' familiars, it used its hind legs in a way no Lion would, but horses are used to kicking their legs back to attack what's behind them. The subtle details are amazing.

I had to watch this episode twice. I was too stunned by sexy Senshi. 😂

Unfortunately, anime cut out my favorite gag that should've started a couple episodes ago. Shuro, before leaving the Dungeon, gave Laois one of the two enchanted bells. When you ring one of these bells, the other, which Shuro will keep, will make a sound as well. It's meant to be used for emergencies, but Laois immediately shoved it at the bottom of his backpack, where it shakes every time he takes a step, so now Shuro has on him a bell than never stops ringing. In this episode Laois violently shook the bell to attract Dog-tsumi's attention, so Shuro's bell started to violently ring as well

I feel bad for the changling children who got burned to death by their parents that were hoping to get back their children by killing the "fakes".😢

Time flies so fast when you're having fun, hope's we get season 2 as soon as possible! Also Senshi had to kill Anne twice (in his younger days and way back in lake's episode), that's rough.

It's been a pleasure watching the show alongside you guys! This show introduced me to your channel and honestly I've loved your reactions! Only one more episode left is going to hurt, but I'm excited to see more from you two in the future! You were correct on the whole assumption in the first place was that Senshi was haunted because he lived all this time uncertain if he had resorted to cannibalism of one of his comrades or not. This show really won't hold back on the realism of food and how all must consume to survive, regardless of the situation. Season 2 really can't come soon enough, this show should hopefully be completed with one more season, so fingers crossed! I always recommend the manga as there are tonnes of worldbuilding extras and fun little tidbits and infodumps, the mangaka really put her whole love and focus into this series and I can never recommend it enough!

This is the beginning of book 8. There are total of 13 books in the series, so the second season will be able to cover the entirety of the story when it comes out.

What Yaad said is the winged lion is the patron deity of the people in the country, and trapped deep in the dungeon. Laios is their sort of chosen one because he has the winged lion emblem on his sword. So he's not literally the winged lion himself, he's supposed to or destined to find the winged lion which is in the dungeon somewhere
