And then have your mind blown when he was the *real* phantom menace and played everyone for fools. The real person I'm mad at is Lucas for not having the balls to play it through to the end, utterly ruining his character and making any justification for his stupidly goofy behavior fizzle out entirely. On the other hand, when he compared Gollum to Jar Jar, my only response was, "No, no he's not"

Theres a big difference between gollum and jar jar, mostly ones antics where endearing and entertaining and actually had an intended purpose in both the books and movies. The other is pointless shameless pandering to children that even children don't like him and had a shoe horned cameo in the sequel and if you removed him nothing would change significantly.

There were only 2 zones in the first game and they boiled down to kill the warchief after killing/ converting captains. I assume them betraying you was introduced to mix things up in SoW, though a lore reason would be this is a while after the first game and sauron is prepared or you

And in a way maybe you are actually weakened a bit. If you consider that Celebrimbor put an essence of his life force to create the new Ring and that somehow. Lose an army of Orcs you have already made. Also its different thing mind control that happens here and Sauron's domination with the Rings of power over the Ringwraiths that were Once men. For example Dwarves were not even affected by the Rings, just became greedy. So its possible for Orcs to join you and then betray you, only for the sake of survival.

They're a lot weaker at the start of SoW than at the end of SoM because Celebrimbor put most of his power into the new Ring. You might notice that you can't brand without it. My theory is that's why orcs can betray you now

Gollum in the books is great. Gollum in the movies is great. Gollum in any other LoTR related media is garbage. He serves no purpose in Middle Earth outside of his interactions with the hobbits. He just happens to be an easily recognizable character that doesn't require you to pay for likeness rights. Is he Jar-Jar? Not quite. He at least rocked in his movie. The extended media is misusing him and crapping on his legacy.

Even Tolkien admitted there aren't that many in Hobbit and LotR. Take Arwen: she's one of the worst-written females in all of literature, and he knew it. The movies tried to 'action girl her up', but admittedly there's only so much that can be done with a character like that. He wrotr _incredibly_ traditional female roles, and he tends to only ever have them in those books to drive the plot forward for other characters Silmarillion is honestly where most of his best character development is though

It's not like they have to pay dividends to shareholders or worry about enticing investors to make these AAA games. That is the root of the problem, and the reason so many smaller game companies go bust or get bought out. AAA games cost as much to make as a Hollywood blockbuster these days, so they have to take less risks with the story and gameplay, and come up with ways to milk money from games, because if one game tanks the company will probably go under (unless it's a mega company like EA), and because they have to be able to show a steady, constant income to get investors to put their money behind the project. Not to mention the need to fund the millions they now have to spend on marketing. Microtransactions are an utterly inevitable consequence of the upward trend of the cost of making video games. Until such time as the technology becomes cheaper, or gamers stop demanding ever better graphics and ever larger open worlds, then games will only get more expensive and microtransactions more pervasive. Because guess what, they're a business and they HAVE to make money.

I beat the whole game within a few weeks and I dont have internet. The grinding isn't all that bad it's just repetative but once I hit the shadow wars section I didnt even need to grind at all. soooo...

Eowen isnt nearly as much of a figure in the books as in the movie, Galadriel basically bows out of the entire ring war, and Arwen didnt break the ringwraiths at the ford in the books, it was a male elf named Glorifindel I don't really have a problem with people adding strong female characters to Tolkein after the fact, but let's not pretend that he wrote them in the first place

You make good points and it's honestly only after I wrote that comment that I read up in detail how the characters are in the books and found that you are indeed correct. They don't get to do as much as the film versions. Still I'd argue that they are strong female characters particularly Eowyn. And in the Silmarillion their are heroic ones like Elf Maiden Lúthien

No the witch in the game is Shelob. What they were saying is in the lore there is no evidence that Shelob can change shapes. Her mother Ungoliant is the one that was a Maiar and can most likely change shapes

The only problem is it needed more humans in the game Mordor felt like a shreck apocalypse with all those orcs. If we had more humans I’m missions that would’ve been better. Still good game though.

I did about the same on hardest difficulty. You can just conquer the orcs that are attacking your fortresses, no need for grinding for good ones.

They know that some people wont want to spend that time and just buy the loot boxes. They padded the game to sell you the ending faster. Thats shady af..
