Wheelstands, burnouts, crashes, cool cars and fast runs! My favorite Highlights from Saturday's qualifying action at The 9th Annual Shakedown @ E-Town, Saturday October 8, 2011.
I was a kid on the coast of WA, mid 80's. Disney had just re-released Bambi so that's what the McDonald's toys in the happy meals were. My brother bought me a happy meal, and the toy was friend owl. Then, he took me to a drag race. I remember the bleachers were painted red. I was so pumped up, I was racing my owl toy up and down the bleachers, pretending it was a 600 horse racecar. To this day, I still have that owl, red belly and all...... LOL. Some things you don't outgrow.
My Dad Took Me To The Track A lot,I live in Canada,So Were Talking The IHRA! A couple Times a Year,In the Late 70's,Big Daddy Don Garlits would be racing.I Remember Bob Glidden,Charlie Woodward,In His 63 Polaris Max Wedge Hemi,Running 11 Flat! I was Hooked when I was 9! Today I Race In Outlaw 10.5,My Best Is a 4.35,Im Usually Around 4.70-80's,Still Love Racing!
Hey I was not there but watching your vid made me feel like I was there. Totally awesome cars and car turnout. I like your focus and quality, razor sharp and you stuck with it. I think if one of the teams came to you and said could you drive this pro-mod for this run you'd be strapped in Yes...... Thanks!!!!!
@MrGotsquashed - He's out of Maryland. I ususally see him running at Cecil or Capitol. Decker's Salvage (maryland also) runs a blown Camaro and I think they know each other if you want to contact them for more data. Take it easy.
