Not trying to defend shane or any of his actions but as someone who struggled with clinical depression for years seeing people pick on and make fun of shane and his hygiene doesn't sit right with me. I know shane is a fucking horrible vile human but its no secret he struggles with mental health and i can't help but feel people who also struggled would see these comments and feel so much worse due to their own personal struggle to get up, to shower to care enough to make them selves look presentable. I think we should keep focus on the actual issues with shane and his actions and not his lack of hygiene ect. It doesn't matter how rich you are or how lucky you are, mental health and depression and affect anyone in life.

The psychic twins and Jonbenet Ramsey joke reminded me that Jeffree has a tattoo of her and I'm reminded of how much I don't understand why we don't talk about that more. He has a *tattoo* of a *child* who was *tragically murdered* that he has *no relation to* because he thinks she symbolises the interaction between beauty and death. It's just so awful and yet it's like a footnote in his book of atrocities.

I absolutely hate how so many prominent voices and business owners in the beauty community are men. I feel the same way about it that I do about how hard the restauraunt industry is on women (being a female chef is extremely difficult as it's very male-dominated). It seems like it's okay for women to do these "feminine" things that are expected of them _until_ it starts being profitable. Then they're shut out. Like I'm glad that more men are showing that they are comfortable wearing makeup, as I think anyone should be able to express themselves with their appearance and things like clothing and makeup shouldn't be limited by gender. But it is just incredibly frustrating to see men dominate yet another industry where the main demographic is women.

Yeah, when Shane stuttered “how do we know we’re gonna sell any?”, that was purely for show. He wanted to come across as his usual insecure, uwu I’m so soft, why-do-people-like-me-even-though-I-have-millions-of-subscribers persona. The fact that his merch sold out just before this clip aside, brands usually do market research to gauge how much product they can expect to sell, which I believe was even covered in an earlier episode when JS mentioned the amount of units they’re making. Everyone has moments of self-doubt but as we’ve seen repeatedly, Shane does not put on that baby voice and force dry alligator tears out of his eyes from actual emotion.

I just realized, in all of this Shane plays as Jeffree's 'charity case' when he's an actual millionaire himself and in no means poor. The constant 'oh thank you jeffree' and fake crying for jeffree and acting bewildered by every small thing. Shane was his own brand, so he had to know how business works. Shane has a very unique and scarily impressive ability to understand the current demographic of tweens and teens and shift his content enough to get that demographic while not drastically changing who he is. He also knows his "rivers and lakes" well enough to create content he is comfortable with while meshing with his current demographic. Honestly, if he wasn't so problematic and controlling I believe he could have had a good career in YA media.

An angle that would have been more interesting for product sales: if shane accepted that the product would sell out, but was concerned about the quality of what people were getting. Speaking of privilege 🙄 Shane just moved like 20 minutes away from me to a multimillion dollar house and he keeps saying stuff about how affordable it is and how much cheaper it is than his old house and it's really rubbing me the wrong way. We're in one of those areas that goes from incredibly rich to low income within a few miles and it's really aggravating me to see him here and never once bringing up that for most of us the house he just bought will never be achievable for our entire lives. He's also acting like he's out on a farm in the middle of nowhere but there's a burger king 5 minutes from his house it wasn't hard to figure out where he lives now, he just has a lot of land because he has the money to live on a big ass piece of land in the middle of a suburban environment.

I never liked Shane (and he sealed the deal with his Jake Paul and Eugenia Cooney spectacles already for me before this series) but this color story in this palette had me SO MAD. I HATE when influencers and brands don't take my money seriously. Do they really think I'm just going to buy a palette that makes no sense to use?? Do they think my time is so disposable that I need palettes that have zero relation to my actual makeup use? Give me products that look to fit into MY life, not the other way around.

Right? Even if I ignore my personal feelings towards SD and J* and purely look at it from an aesthetic POV, it's an ugly palette with no rhyme or reason to the colorstory. Reminds me of a story I've heard about some college kids going trick or treating. Picture it' halloween night. The doorbell rings, but when you open it, you find yourself faced with another door. It opens to reveal three young men dressed up as elderly ladies, exclaiming in surprise and and delight at the sight of you, complimenting your "costume", patting/pinching your cheeks, telling you how cute you look. You're given a piece of candy from each of them (and only one!) and they bid you goodnight, wishing you luck with the rest of the neighbourhood and telling you stay safe - it's getting dark soon. They shut the door and after a moment you shut yours. You stand there, looking at your unexpected haul and if you listen, you'll probably the hear the sound of three twenty-somethings moving their door step-up down your steps and on to the next house.

I’m from Michigan, people are constantly picketing Snyder’s house. It’s pretty incredible politicians can incite disaster in one place and then run away to live in a richer town. There’s a lot of outreach but flint is far from a lot of our big cities that try an help, yet we have the most fresh water out of all the states. I mean, as for makeup commercials, you might see one now & again for a huge brand like covergirl. But I feel like this makeup launch was advertised via instagrams like trendmood, also thru big youtubers talking about the launch, smaller news channels discussing Shane's docuseries like it was important or something groundbreaking ... if you don't otherwise follow any makeup news though, I can see how you wouldn't have known much about the release.

I'd say that they both probably shared the commercial on their youtube channels which probably got millions of views and comments. I'd figure they posted their favorite shots on their instagram accounts and other social media platforms. Also, the website youd go to when ordering would be completely decked out in shots from the promotional photoshoot, y'know? And lastly, I think when you order from Jeffree you get like, a postcard sized picture from the photo shoot in with your order (atleast that's how it was back in 2016, when I actually bought something from Jeffree's website.) (sorry about the two replies, btw. after the first one, I reread your question and was like "oh I really didn't even answer this question well at all" 🥴)

@@ath3na.64 lipomas can have genetic causes, but they occur in amy breed and are linked to diet and environmental factors. They're also not a severe health problem - they don't generally hurt and unless they grow in places that inhibit mobility they don't impact their quality of life significantly. Don't get me wrong - we ruined dogs by over-breeding them and breeding most purebreds and some designer breeds should be banned - but fatty tumors don't even make the list of health issues due to overbreeding.

I thiiiink they’re just lipomas and I’m gonna go get them checked at her next spot and just monitor them until then, but it feels very young. Maybe I’m feeding her the wrong stuff?? @@jazwhoaskedforthis even if we were qualified we can’t give you advice on your dog based on this information. There are lots of things that can cause lumps, and you’re doing the right thing by taking her to get checked and monitoring for any changes. It’s possible things like breed will factor in to whether it’s likely to be a concern or not too. Pretty sure a one year old could get lipomas though.

I had one of my worst mental breakdowns in over ten years, got put on more medication and into therapy with talks of hospitalization if that doesn't help. My family has been less than supportive, so I got yelled at while crying. I also recently had to leave my job due to mental health reasons. It's been rough. This video made me smile for the first time in I don't know how long. Hope you’re hanging in there. You are stronger than you think even at your lowest, so just keep fighting. Give yourself every chance. Even two minutes of trying to meditate or getting a little more sleep can help. When I’m at rock bottom (now) I have to throw everything at the void, even the tired trite self care advice, because I need all the help I can get. And I’m realizing that I should’ve been doing it all along. In a moment if you can be comfortable in a bath or laugh at a video like this, you just made things bearable for a moment. You just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other, moment by moment.

Throughout the clip breakdown of this series I've seen loads of people admonishing themselves in the comments for getting sucked into this and buying a crappy over priced palette. I think we should mention the context of it. It was in the midst of Jeffree's very brief window of not being cancelled after Shane's previous series where Jeffree talked about his rough childhood and self-harm. Not that this made up for the things he'd done in the past, but his fans and supporters really pushed the "Jeffree is s different person now" narrative that he wanted. Also, every single beauty youtuber was talking about the series. Even the ones who were like "I'm not going to watch it and here's a twenty minute video of why" were capitalizing on it. The hype was everywhere and if you were all into makeup at this time, there was no avoiding it. I had the hideous "piss, blood, bruise" mini palette in my cart on Beautylish but thankfully it sold out. Dodged a bullet there.
