I moved into my first apartment yesterday and ordered a Wayfair foam mattress to be delivered on move-in day. I thought I was getting a great deal at $315, but my back and hips hurt so bad. Shane keeps adopting animals and yet Ryland is the only one that takes care of them. Ryland feeds and walks them while Shane sleeps until 2pm and then Shane wonders why the animals like Ryland more. I can’t imagine how this dynamic is going to work with a child. Ryland is going to be a single parent and Shane’s going to be the weird manic guy that tries to buy the kid’s love with weird presents that are a reflection of his likes and not the kid’s.

It made me dread my birthday as a kid because they always gave me tickets to go with them to something they were obsessed with that I hated and they made a huge deal of if with like limos and high end hotel suites, so there I was, stuck with a manic weirdo, at a concert or red carpet I didn’t want to be at, miserable and uncomfortable, having to pretend like I was having a good time because they spent so much money on me. Luckily it was a relative and not my parent. I couldn’t imagine living with them.
How Shane treats ryland is exactly how my husband treated me. I would laugh it off as sarcastic banter but after a while, it just hurts. Don’t let people treat you like this. I’m in the process of getting divorced.

Shane is not at all equipped to care for a child. I feel so sad they're bringing a baby into their toxic mess of a relationship. I feel scared for Ryland, because Shane already treats him badly imagine how bad it'll get when he's "locked down" with a baby. Shane already attacks and belittles him for his "feminine" side, imagine how bad that could get when he moves into the role of childrearing (a role clearly linked to women). I'm not a huge Ryland fan but I still worry about him and the baby in this situation. I hope they reconsider.

As a Mother of 2 I have to say … the idea of shane being a father gives me anxiety and makes me want to cry. I’m ashamed to say I use to watch his videos until it became increasingly clear how disgusting he is as a grown adult. The idea of a child being left in his care… with no supervision makes me want to puke.
If it's any consolation, I don't thing Shane is ever going to be alone with that child. He's so squeamish about ... everything, I think Ryland is going to do most of the parenting. Imo they are both toxic and codependent..and neither of them are ready to be dad's. It's going to be a HUGE mistake for them and that poor child. One of the things that makes me SO ANGRY is when someone feels the need to make someone else feel stupid for things they like and get excited about! What asshole would want to turn someone’s happiness into embarrassment? Especially a FRIEND? My parents did this to me and I felt so stupid and embarrassed, and it made me very self conscious to share anything about myself with others.

Mine wants everything that smells like me. I know in my case its less "eat everything " and more "chew object so much it looks like he ate it". My doggie has been getting better but it's taking way longer than it should.
Teaching my huskies Leave It Al has been life changing, because now they’re so use to me telling them that command for dog poop, cat poop, horse poops etc, they finally don’t approach them anymore on our walks!
It worries me that they said that as someone who works with animals as well. Makes me think they'll use that excuse as justification for letting their dog become obese or poison himself/herself by eating something toxic. These people should not be allowed to be guardians of animals or children, especially after they let that kitten die a horrible violent death.
Well that’s why they’ve already k*lled a kitten so it doesn’t surprise me he said that, also, I think they feed and let eat their dogs anything and that’s bad. I have a little black cat and even if he’s curious about my food and some of it is safe for him, I always refuse to share it with him because it has some other shit that makes them sick when they get older such as salt (cats have very delicate kidneys) or grease or whatever.

The scariest part of Shane becoming a parent to me, besides all the disgusting things he's said pertaining to children, is that everyone seems to forget this man has seriously scary rage issues. He screams and shouts and swears over the smallest things, he's aggressively negative to Ryland, he used to shout at drew and garrett all the time in the squad videos they did... I'm so worried that if that baby is having a crying fit, he'll just start screaming at it and the trauma from that will be horrible.

Honestly the IVF and surrogate world is ran by money. I doubt shane would pass a background check for adoption so I wonder if maybe surrogacy was a more lax way to go about it?
Not if they are paying for a private surrogate, they made it through fertility testing already I believe. But ya it's going to be a biological child it's not like adoption unfortunately. And the one that does adopt doesn't go through the same adoption process as a child without a biological parent involved unfortunately. It's really just about having the money to do it.
If it's a private surrogate then there's no governing body in charge of it. His very well documented background is probably one of the reasons they aren't adopting
Even the adoption agencies/fosters do not get them background checks. One example the couple that adopted like 5 kids and drove off a cliff with all of them in the van 😢 this shit is wild

Listen I’m a CSA victim as well and I don’t believe that he was genuine in his edgy jokes nor that he’s a sexual predator. He picked the most insane and horrible comedic jokes to tell for the sake of shocking people. Obviously a pet or a baby is the most extreme examples you could bring up. I’m not going to lie, those kinds of jokes online were pretty common back then. It’s normal to react with disgust now, but I just think people are reading way too much into them and taking them as fact instead of edgy horrible jokes. I’m not well versed in how that works - I assume they went through some sort of agency that links couples with surrogates. Would the surrogate know their info? I’m assuming it wasn’t privately arranged since they said they haven’t met her, so it wouldn’t be a friend of theirs or anything. I would think they don’t give their full names or anything until they meet in person and agree to move forward? But that’s just my assumption and I don’t actually know anything about it lol

From the sound of it, they’re doing a private surrogacy. As far as I’m aware there’s not really background checks and assessments of character or anything for that.
As far as making videos about the early stages of getting a surrogate, that could be a great idea if that were actually the focus of the video! Having a baby through non-conventional means, especially as a gay couple, can be really confusing and difficult and I could see how watching another couple go through the process and talk about what they did would be helpful. But another couple, not them.

And Ryland is Shane's little boy. I'm sharing this because I'm tired oof being the only one traumatized by that. If I had to learn that then so do YOU.
