I dont think the greens comprehend how happy the public are at the changes to the mining laws, Me being able to go and sluice in a river without need for permits and spending thousands and thousands is great news.
@culminate100 oh I agree completely, protect the environment and work with it, giving the public the right to use suction dredges could cause issues if the miners completely strip mine the rivers but there would be no point in doing that, heck truth be told most of the time I go out prospecting it's to see nature and relax

We mist be allowed to exploit our natural resources to remain a first world country. Then when we are wealthier we can then afford to implement more green technologies for the benefit of our environment. We also can't help the people of Aotearoa if we cannot create wealth.
To find the size and accessibility of nz mining land and territory you have to consult google, its still unclear exactly what we have here because much of the land has not had core drilling in all places, we have however got a reasonable guess. And its not much in global standards.

The greens are correct regarding the seabed dragging. That is an Absolute Truth. We should stop dragging the seabed. Why is society only focused on money? Inflation is out of control due to the need to feed the returns on the stock exchange, and the currency fluctuation investment people derive wealth from. Once a feeding trough is established, few ever want to take their snout from it.
