Kobe also deserved at least one maybe both of Steve’s MVPs. I agree Tim needed at least 1/2 more MVPs but voters had fatigue because spurs were one of the most consistent teams from 2000-2014 and I think that in itself undervalued Tim’s performance throughout his career.

It wasn’t until 2013 when coach pop opened up the offense and they started shooting lights out from the 3. That's what the award should be. It should be what's the team's ceiling with player X and what's their floor without them. That's how you'd ascertain their "value".

Since the MVP is a regular season award, we can’t take into account the playoffs hence we can’t consider if a player is so valuable to his team to make them win a championship
