Welcome back, Diane! So glad you are sounding back to normal. Loose paintings that concentrate on color and not so much on form are so much more enjoyable for us non-artistic people who just love color. 😊

Dear Diane, thanks to you I began painting with watercolor. I really enjoy your art style. Also I like the way you explain how to paint since it is so easy to understand. I am 50 years old, live in Russia and a beginner. Love you!

I really like the sound of rain and thunder, I listen to it when I’m in bed, so when I hear it when watching you paint, I go into a trance like state, it’s because I’m conditioned to sleep when I hear it, which isn’t a bad thing, since I live in Manchester England, known as the rainy city! Thank you for taking time to show us how you create a beautiful painting, so freely, easily, without any drama, just softly and relaxing! As you just go with the flow, I think you’re a wonderful artist! 🙏🏼🙏🏼👍🏻🫵🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️👏🏼❤️👏🏼

Thanks so much Tina for your kind words which are much appreciated - funny to think of you going to sleep because of the sound of rain - I remember lying awake unable to sleep when camping or caravaning because of the loud rain falling on the canvas or roof! It still keeps me awake LOL!

So glad to see you back! Between Covid and the storm, it must have been a rough few weeks. We all want to know that the animals were okay, too! Thank you for the landscape tutorial ... you make it look so easy. I'll give it a try.

Listening to the rain as it comes down where I am and the rain where you are, was very relaxing. This painting turned out lovely. I love the fall and all the colors. This scene reminds me of Colorado or where I live now in Washington. Thanks so much for sharing.

I made it to “Diane Time”! (Working in the house all day in prep of coming holidays.) This project reminds me of my drive down the highway yesterday, when I was awestruck by the fall colors. And, thinking to myself, I thought, if only I could recreate the beauty in watercolor. Thanks, for all you do!

I love this loose painting. I must learn to control the water better. When I watch you add lines on top of something you just painted (without letting it dry) it doesn’t spread too much. I think I use too much water. I’ll have to practice …also I need to pick up more pigment so my painting doesn’t look washed out. Thank you, Diane, for some wonderful instruction.

In my head, of course I know you do practice paintings, but when you showed your various practice sheets, I thought, oh Dianne does prep work(and of course that you have immense talent and years of experience) before she does her seemingly ‘off the cuff’ videos. It reminded me that I have to stop getting so down on myself for not getting things right the first time….EVEN though in my head I am fully aware of this fact!!! Lol ramblings of a fan.

Thank you very much! Just the thing I needed to see and watch and copy today! I'm still (hopefully not forever?) struggling with looseness, quick but precise brushstrokes and the right amount of pigment in each loaded brush that I can see in your movements. I'm constantly trying to apply this way of getting colour to the paper in my own painting. There is such a fine transition between too watery and too opaque that I haven't mastered yet - apart from a lucky serendipity now and then.

That is a beautiful little landscape. And the colours are stunning. Landscapes are a nightmare for me, but on a smaller scale like this, I think I’d be ok. Hope you’ve cleared up after the visit from Ciaran (the storm) And that thunder sounds lovely. I love thunderstorms. 😊

I'm inspired by your palette arrangement - not that I need another one, mind. Too many palettes have divided areas - I'm always looking for ceramic palettes without any, for the unpredictable colour mixing you get.
