Your enthusiasm is infectious! Wish I was as young as you and had the energy you have. I'm sorry to see you had "drone" blood catching it. I'm proud to see you are so skilled to sail a 31 foot boat by yourself!
Wow just found ur channel, and I'm smiling big time, u are such a buzz Woman, best fun, and love ur awesome personality. The way u teach us and explain what ur doing is really well done, thanks for sharing 🇦🇺🤪🐕🐶puppies are best. 🐾
Glad to see you back, I find boating helps with coping with personal losses. My wife and I also have our boat in Dana Point, we love the harbor and back anchorage, We pass your boat all the time and look for you and your cute dogs. We have two smaller dogs also, Hope to say hi sometime. Love your solo sailing
Glad you’re back. I thought you weren’t going to do RU-vid anymore. Life happens and I am glad you have returned to the sea. Sailing is great therapy and reminds us what is important in life. And that drone catch was epic. You should’ve shown it multiple times in slow motion! Girl power!
Great save on the drone, you did that like a Pro! I’m so glad to see you’re back & you’re okay. I hope you’ll be sailing & doing lots of videos, I really do enjoy the way you’re explaining how to make things happen, it’s understandable! ❤
Nice to see you back! :) You may have done this already, but in case you haven't, you could try cleaning the luff groove in the mast and lubricate it with dry PTFE. I had a hard time getting the mainsail up on my similarly sized boat. Had to winch the last third, and even that was hard work. But after a good clean and lube, it is a fraction of the effort and I can now hoist it all the way to the top by hand and just use the winch to tighten the luff up.
Congrats on your sailing journey. I’ve had an H310 for 15+ years now and see you trying and learning rather than sitting on the sidelines waiting for the “perfect”. None of us are perfect in our skills, but I like how you go for it and take the experience and move on.
Seriously, I've had the H310 15+ yrs and have tackled most of her gremlins DIY. If you're working on an issue and want some input, please reach out.@@CaptainChrista
Hopefully you will start sailing around the world soon! I really enjoy how detailed your videos are. All the existing sailing channels just skip everything involved in operating the boat. I love learning from you. Keep up the awesome videos and focus on investing your energy in your life and passions.
Im sorry you have been having problems. Take care of yourself. I just found your channel, so im looking forward to more videos. I would so love to do what youre doing. I dont think i could live on a boat full time tho. But it would be a great way to save money.
Great episode flying by drone. Finally . Good job. Greetings from beautiful tropical paradise island Kauai, Hawaii. I wish you fear winds and following seas 🌊 ⛵️
Glad you're Back. I must admit I left thinking you quit and I was lucky to see a comment you made. Have fun you went through a rough patch. Sorry and can't wait for the next video.
Great to see you back out on the water. LOL. That drone is going to end up in the drink, even with your cat like reflexes. Experiment on land with a small diameter plastic rod under the drone that is attached with Velcro . You may have to turn the obstacle avoidance sensors off. I haven't even worked up the courage to fly my Autel Evo drone off of my little sailboat yet. Good luck.
Snatching the drone was insane! Not sure if catching on the foredeck was an option but then you could use the sails as protection. My God what a catch though. Mad sailing skills too,
You made it look easy! Curious where all your knowledge comes from? I'm teaching myself how to solo sail up in Bodega Bay and it ain't easy. Well impressed with your confidence!
Hi my friend. Glad you worked thru your personal difficulties. Life is a balancing act of compassion for others, while not losing sight of yourself. Wish I understood that when I was your age 😂. I solo sail in SoCal too, and I have done a few donuts myself. Maybe we’ll cross paths. Looking forward to your next trip, stay safe.
Haha yes I’ve learned that over the last few months! Omg haha well if you see a boat out there going in circles it’s probably me 😂😊 where are you out of! I’m planing on going to Catalina soon!
@@CaptainChrista You might be ok in the US, but this was in Croatia we tried to do it and almost got a ticket. But, Based on the Article 17 of the 1958 High Seas Convention, you're at a lot more risk of getting approached and boarded if you have it out. So, I'd be careful while flying it while sailing. If you're moored or anchored or in your slip, I'm sure it'd be no issue.
HELLO FROM AUSTRALIA!! wow thats a nice boat you have. you are doing something right in live to have such a nice yacht at such a young age. stay beautiful :)
@@CaptainChrista I'm thinking a couple weeks. Have to finish a couple projects first. You know how boat life goes fix one find 4 more things that need it
Where did you get your knowledge from ? Very cool to see you doing this on your own, and very impressive. I worry about thinks in my Pontoon in my little lake lol
Thanks for this video . Have you thought about sailing to the Channel Islands? I know you sailed to Catalina already. I will put that on my bucket list after I get my 27ft sailboat. PS. Dont ever let negative people take away your joy. Life is to short
It been a while since we seen you for sure. Hope all is well with you. I was hoping you would be on here longer but that’s okay. I would love to be out there with you.
Those drones are a pain. I don't know any DJI Drone flyers that hasn't lost one. The Splash Drone is the best water option, but they can cost like $1500 to 2k.
I see some people glue/ epoxy a lightweight stick or pipe to the bottom of their drone to make it easier to catch and keep their hands away from the finger munchers. 🤕
@@CaptainChrista If it were me I would glue/epoxy a nut to the bottom of the drone then you could screw in a piece of lightweight (aluminium?) threaded bar which could be removed when you are going to land on terra firma.
Yes, had a sailboat on treasure Island in SF payed the berth to the marina, then payed a berth tax and boat VALUE tax to the City and county of San Francisco, like to know how it is in your area like Dana,Newport, Or long Beach area?, thank you.
