I always found it weird that Riley became studio head first, because in season 2 it was said Emily was 16, so even if each season is a year and Riley was only a year younger than Emily, she can only have been a max of 17. Who the hell puts a 17 year old in charge of running an entire competitive dance studio?! Especially after they’ve just won Internationals so their reputation is supposed to stay strong, like please😭

To think that The Next Step has been around for over a decade is absolutely crazy. I feel as if it's getting to a point where you can really see the impact it's had on people's development. For instance, I started watching TNS when it first aired when I was 6 and I'll be turning 17 in a week. At that time I was being bullied at school and seeing a bully's perspective, such as Emily's in the media I consumed, helped me to gain empathy for the people who were mean to me. I was wondering, do you have any interesting experiences fans have shared of how TNS has impacted them?

I have a question about tns. When James had to compete the list to ‘win’ back Riley there was one number that he couldn’t do. I think I was number 7. It was always joked about how difficult it was to do. What actually was that number?

19:07-19:20 - I completely agree about Jiley being toxic. As much as I loved them when I was younger, you really start to notice how unfit they were for each other when you’re older. And funnily enough, it was indeed because of both long distance and cheating on each other as you said😅 20:35 - I also thought that dream sequence with Alfie and Riley was cute. That’s a good parallel you made comparing that scene with Richelle dreaming of her dancing with Shad. He’s such a good singer. He has a very beautiful voice.

One thing that always stuck with me about Jiley is how James always emphasized trust, and that he trusts Riley. He mentions this when Eldon's wondering why he can't get a stable girlfriend.

15:08 This being older for the troupe thing is slightly touched on in season 6 with Noah, I guess it's one of the few times they've applied that rule to some degree in the show (season 6 is such a great season btw if you ever want to react to it, probably one of the best seasons of the show)

Great video, I loved it! However, I personally prefer reaction videos where we see your genuine live reaction of the scenes rather than a review where you look back at what you've watched. I get that this is easier and this way you can dig deeper into the story but this was just my thought. You're amazing❤

I loved Jiley as a kid but think now as I’ve grown up and rewatched the show I’ve realised how toxic it was and how a healthy relationship shouldn’t look like that. I think the reason Jiley was so loved by the fans was down to the on-screen chemistry Brit and Trevor had and probably the age-old will they won’t they trope that everyone seems to loves in tv series.

i didn’t care what i looked like in dance until i was 16, and this ballet teacher was SO JUDGEMENTAL - literally the first thing she said to me and 3 other girls was “you’d look so much prettier with makeup on” and after that i literally wore makeup everywhere because i felt so insecure about it, which doubled up with the people on social media having fabulous makeup and me barely knowing how to apply bronzer made me so stressed out (glad to report 7 years later i’m not wearing makeup very often and have learned it absolutely doesn’t matter)

My question : Have you ever been curious to check the next step in other languages? I've always wonder that since I grew up in Quebec, watching the show in french so it was weird for me to hear the original english version in your reaction video. If you never did, go check it out! i am 17 and social media is actually the worst (yes i am still on it way too much), it made so many things in my life worse and things to do with my mental health and mental illness that i’ve struggled with just got worse after looking at triggering things on tik tok or twitter. Because i had social media from like 10 years old my mental health just declined from when i was around 11/12 and i’ve struggled with it ever since. I’m not gonna say that the only reason for my problems is social media but i know it played a huge role in it. and also in dance i have massive self esteem issues with thinking i’m not a good enough dancer after watching other dancers in social media

You're definitely not alone in feeling that way. I didn't have social media and I also struggled a lot with self esteem issues. I sometimes still do today, though it's much easier to work through as I've gotten older.

I'd love to hear more about acting! Not an actor myself but I've done a couple of plays here and there and I find it fascinating! Also it's so interesting to hear how they changed the theme of the show from dramatic to life lessons kinda vibe. My QUESTION: I remember in your reaction videos to Season 1; you said you were extremely insecure about what other people thought about you (as any teenager is). I've always felt like when it comes to acting, you needed someone else to tell you if you're doing an okay job or not, except in your mind (or at least for me) I could never fully trust or believe what other people say. How did you trust yourself and find that inner confidence to believe that you are a good actress and that you were doing a good job? I feel like since Richelle and whatever his name is (Chad) were in the same studio and on J troupe together at one point, she’d probably be aware of his talent. Especially because the music studio used to be next door to TNS and Chad performed for A-Troupe… So idk if it would be that weird if she said “go for it”, like they’ve known each other for a while. Not closely buy ya know. 😅

can’t wait to see the reaction for episode 4!! this was definitely one of my fave episodes of the seasons :)) the show will be developed more in the upcoming episodes, and I was just confused as you when I watched this episode haha, but it will be developed and all the questions will be answered. the challenge is what TNS did in season 2, and when Michelle taught the choreo, it actually reminded me of Daniel and Stephanie teaching the dancers the choreo for a troupe auditions in season 4. and also the breaking of the 4th wall moment with Izzy and Daisy reminded me of James giving the promise ring to Riley in season 4 as the last scene of the season 🥹 in regards to the pilot, there’s actually only a few pictures that have been released on the next step’s wiki, and I can remember one of the past cast members of TNS actually did say that the pilot can never be released due to legalities which is a shame… another question ~ what did you feel about the development of characters in TNS, especially in season 1-3…

I would love to hear your thoughts on the Riley James and Alfie drama from season 4 and Alfie’s character on the show as a whole? (Personally if Alfie didn’t kiss Riley when he knew she had a bf and Riley wasn’t with James, I’d love Ralfie together I also think Alfie had the potential to be a better character if they didn’t make do some of the things he does, maybe his behavior comes from being a prince and always getting what he wants?)

(I want to move there when I’m older) - What season is it in Canada at the moment? (It’s summer here in the uk) - What advice would you give to a self taught dancer who wants to improve but can’t go to a studio? - What were some setbacks that you faced in your competitive dance life? - What advice would you give to someone who wants to start acting but is really shy and also doesn’t have any acting classes in the area? - How can you reflect on what you’re doing wrong and improve if you genuinely have no idea and no one will tell you?
