Transphobia is being normalized and quite frankly I feel hopeless. I'm afraid this keeps happening. The rise of transgender people being murderd this past year is horrific. As a transgender man ftm, I can only hope that things will get better. Idk if they will though. Considering the current climate of things and with very vocal far right extremist like Matt Welsh who are incredibly hateful towards transgender people, I can't see it getting any better any time soon .
THIS WAS IN BRITIAN AS WELL. As a british person i can confirm the treatment is although improving towards LGBTQ+ communities, the hatred is so prominent especially with our heavy religious history. It's hard to simply be who you are as a queer young person. It honestly scares me
Fellow Britsh person here. I looked into this a lot and some of the things said were awful. You had news sites dead naming her, people calling the kids that did it heroes and so much misgendering. There is a lot more that happened but it was overshadowed by amount of support shown when the murders went to court.
As a british northerner, it really sucks up here when it comes to stuff like that, with the Tories wanting queer youth in the UK to be silenced.. messed up country.

As a transgender man ftm, this is one of my fears, that I could get killed for just being myself. Right now I'm stealth at my job, because I'm afraid of coming across the wrong person at the wrong time. No one should have to live in fear of being murderd, beaten or raped for who they are or live in fear of having their rights stripped away from them. It's a very twisted world we live in.

Dude I’ll never understand humanity. Killing someone? That shouldn’t ever be a situation. The amount of cruelty in this world is disheartening. I'm a 20 y.o. semi-closed trans man, im only open to my friends and my classmates in uni and i live in Turkey. And seeing these kinds of cases in supposed to be more democratic countries just makes me more scared about coming out fully. She was just 16 and despite she had a loving and supportive family that couldn't save her from those pshycos. Just a couple days ago in Istanbul another pshyco stabbed 16 random people while walking down the street all night, just for the shits and giggles. I'm just so scared for my and others safety. This hit me so hard, even before I watched the video. I was going through recently posted videos from my subscriptions and saw it, and I genuinely had to pause for a moment. I’m a trans guy, whose deadname was only one letter off of Brianna’s chosen name, and my oldest sister is trans and looks so, so similar to her. The moment that thought crossed my mind I just..couldn’t I guess. I’m only two years older than her. I remember being 16, and I had only just figured myself out at the time. It’s just so saddening, knowing there are so many kids like me out there that didn’t get the chance to make it this far.
i already knew about this case but in class we learnt about it and i heard people say behind me say that they saw her all the time on their tiktok and didn’t realise she was killed until that lesson
one thing that’s really upsetting too is that when you search her up, one of the top 3 asked questions is “what is briannas male name” i swear people don’t know how to mind their own business
