In this video, I go over all the differences between my Shelby GT350 and my friend's GT350R. Both are unbelievably great cars, but which is the one for you? Thanks for watching! Feel free to check me out on instagram: @exoticars19
What's up y'all, yesterday my friend drove his GT350R in town for a photoshoot and I thought I'd also make a video to talk about the differences between the GT350R and GT350. Thanks for watching! Oh and to see the pictures from this shoot feel free to check out my instagram: @exoticars19
I prefer an R but would be completely happy with just the 350. Over time I would slowly upgrade my 350 closer to an R, starting with the rear seat delete, rolecage in rear (as is in that R) and more aggressive wing and wheels (as in deep dish and not black, probably silver). Both beautiful cars.
Man, I'm so happy I got mine for what I did. 2016 Shelby GT350 Dark Grey with Black stripes. 10k miles for $52,000. Gotta say I like the lightning blue as well. Going to buy a Type R wing as well as resonator delete.
The price for the gt350 compared to the R value is lesser due to the fact that the R is more lighter and faster than the normal Gt350. Right now you can find a gt350 for atleast around 30k or under that. I found one for 23k, but I'm still undecided on it. If I do get it will respect the tradition and will possibly remove the wing(because I'm not a hug of spoilers when it comes to muscle cars) and the carbon fiber rims because I know one day there will be incident that will scratch my rims and I will Have to pay a buck load just to fix them or get them replaced. I will also paint the car the same color and add the same stripes like the the blue Gt350 shown in this video.
For me I'd take the regular 350 over the R because I'd be afraid to daily the R because of the carbon fiber parts, and I might actually use the back seats. It's still phenomenal on the track
Personally I'm saving for the gt350 like yours but black with white stripes or avalanche with black stripes. Not the r because I don't need a track car and I need my rear seats I haul my gf and all my sports gear and 55-60 is enough for me on a car.
Just for information sake, I purchased my 2019 350r in Ford Performance Metallic Blue with 6700 miles as the third owner for 69k from an Audi dealership in May 2021. It’s was and still is in mint condition. Absolutely love the car, hard to say if I got a good deal or if it was a fair market value price.
Great video. Liked and subscribed. Some other differences include the calibration in the software correlating with the unique suspension and aerodynamics on the 350R. One of the many examples found in the MagneRide calibration of the GT350R details the smaller interior piston orifices inside the dampers of the “R.” The software is also precisely calibrated to reduce harmonic frequency of the carbon fiber wheels on the chassis compared to the standard GT350. The bushing durometers are also unique on the GT350R and respond differently to the “R” suspension components. There are more differences in the two cars than meets the eye. For those that think you can transform a 350 into an “R,” it’s more than just bolting on a larger front splitter, larger wing, and CF wheels.
Coming out in '16, GT350 original pricing $49,995 with a $1300 tax addon, as for the GT350R pricing was $63,495. All pricing with preferable customizations of course due to change, but the markups are insane. And as said, suede is aka, Alcantara. Having been released as the spirited street car with racing acou'tre'mont's, Alcantara, especially on the dash is to reduce sun glare opposed to the plastic gleam while "racing". And that red "pinstripe" on the steering wheel is aka, dead center steering indicator also for "racing". Race cars have a yellow one usually but to each there own.
Good video. I have a velocity blue 2019 gt350 not a lot of differences between the two now. Mine is loaded and I got it for 2700 off msrp and the dealer still made money. They were real fair about the price at my local Ford Dealer in Louisiana.
I think I'd buy the gt350 cause I would daily drive it. The r is going to be one of those cars that is going to be valuable to a collector and it would be a shame to put a bunch of miles on the r.
Man, I love the "R" model for many reasons, overall look, exhaust sound, tires and wheels, wing, badging, interior. etc. never pay over msrp. hate greedy dealers. they call it capitalism, I call it their greed.guess i wont own one then. I have my principles.😅 Beautiful cars both of them. I love your color combo the best though!😎👍
just letting you know the R actually has a shorter front fascia and grill its making the hood even lower. everything in the front is actually lower but a small but noticeable amount if you are looking for that detail.
Due to being 21 and not having any real credit I’m paying the same price for my 2015 gt that I would be for a 2016 350... it sucks but I feel blessed to be able to buy a nice car at my age and I’m doing everything to build my credit. Hoping to get a 350 one day
i want to buy a gt350 but the only thing that bothers me is the ground clearance. So my question is how often do yall scrape your front fender going up steep drive ways and going over speed bumps???? And can you replace the front fender after scraping it down?
Bought a 19 350 about 3 months ago. Don’t daily it but when I do drive it I don’t have issues with scrapping it. Have speed bumps in my neighborhood and still no issues. I’m careful when driving it so I’m sure if you’re not paying attention or going hard into a crazy driveway you’ll bottom out. You can replace most of the parts and can also buy parts to help protect the front splitter.
How about the mechanical differences, I hear the R has a stiffer sway bar in the rear and also the ride height is slightly lower. Are there any other differences besides the resonator delete?
they have different engines. the r has the 5.2 voodoo which has a flat plane crankshaft and i believe the 350 has a coyote. i could be wrong on the 350 but the R definitely has the 5.2 voodoo
Is amazing how today march 25, 2020 you can get a 2017 gt 350 with only 13k for $38,899... when back then they were at $59,140(msrp) you will be saving over $20,241 ... now is the time to buy them !
Today the 350r selling for 51-70k depends on the mileage. Hard to come by, just the rims and wing is $20000, Ford jake price up on these so the average 350 owners won’t try to make their 350 into 350r
@@jamalcolmpayne7938 no but im on my way. bought a type R in 2019 and a house in 2020. dont want to trade my type R for a gt350 so soon after buying my house. so im going to wait a couple more years. i also want to keep my type R so i'll have to wait another maybe 4 years if i want to have both cars.
Gt350 is the best mustang out right now, 5.2l voodoo yes. I would pick a new zl1 for a Track car though, because zl1 is only 55k practically brand New and if you look up laguna seca times it destroys the gt350. Looks wise the gt350r is sick looking, But I'd buy the gt350 for a daily and zl1 for track car.
I got the 2017 GT-350 thus very happy with the track package. On the R why do they paint the carbon fiber parts (RIMS and Spoiler)? Need to show the folks it's CF so don't paint them.
Thanks i was looking for a track car...an heard the GT 350R has the race oil cooler rear...motor oil trans cooler standard....an the larger spoiler...rather than convert the 350 GT TO a track car the R has the coolers standard...which is a must on track thrashing days....ducts work to brakes is easy enuf to do myself....but the rear diff cooler may be a different rear stronger gears an different ratios....i like the exhaust removal so much hp can be gained by straightening the exhaust pipes...an just taking bends away...peace out...
Mine would be the gt350 cause I want to be able to use it as a daily and in the future take kids to school and then fit all their sporting gear and stuff but at the same time listen to the glorious exhaust note
Also all the car settings and options are better in the gt350 so it is more comfortable and the gt350R is somewhat better on the road. So basically the R is just better on track
BOTH PLUS A GT 500....I LIKE TO honor shelby by getting a white w blu gt 350...but the R is got the race coolers...for oil trans diff...its sounds like R is really track ready...i like the lightning blue better...i paint cars..SN sonic blue was the paint code for best blue on the ranger edge....model code SN... sonic blue...SN is the lightning color too..i believe
If money is not an issue I would go with the R but if I had to daily drive the car and couldn't afford another to daily I would go with the 350 and put a supercharger or turbo on it.
I read that the motor on the R has some upgrades over the standard gt350, aren't there motor issues with 18 and down gt350’s and in 19 ford put the R motor or the voodoo gen 2 in all gt350’s thanks
Hey Bro do you know where your friend got the GT350R decal on the door of the car? My car is the same color spec and I will really appreciate it if I can get the info to buy those door decals. Thanks
The GT 350 is so bad arse....u cant go wrong its a Shelby Race Crew massaged bred car.. by a guy who won The Le Mans 24hour race as a driver an for Ford as a builder....Carroll was no nonsense an did what a race driver would to a race car...
fast forward to 2019 and you can buy a GT350R for under MSRP, under 70k. Only ever seen 1 or 2 Rs, and a bunch of regular ones, and there are dozens of GT350 for sale on Craiglist and Facebook, but not 1 R locally.
Imo I wanna kno what's the difference in whp, red paint isn't gonna make the car faster ..with the difference in msrp I'll just put a nice procharger + full exhaust = smiles per gallon
Ur fucking dumb. I’ll enjoy my better springs, lowered, bigger splitter, track beast, better interior seats stiching, better brakes, 13k wing, rims, and exhaust. Have a nice day
@@wolverinee 13k wing? What planet are you on. Don't need to be butthurt just because you own a 350R. Its quite easy to convert a 350 to a 350R. Those are the facts. Suspension is the same you just have to tune the setup, brakes are pretty much the same (I'll give it to you that the R brakes are better) the cor components of the car are the same. If I want to add the wheels and the wing I can. And the wing is not 13k, you are greatly misinformed.
The R made 3-4 more hp 467 vs 471 when Motortrend tested them but those gains were probably due to the lighter wheels. I might be wrong on this. I think Ford did say the R has a more aggressive tune but they choose not to certified the hp increase because doing so wasn't worth the money. So potentially the R makes more power but barely
Interesting I saw 2 GT350R, one at my work place, the other one is my neighbor's About the exhaust note, yea when I pull down the back seats on my F10 M5, it does sound a bit louder too :P
yea that lightning blue is really sweet. I'm thinking either that or the red. I kinda like the blue though cuz it's not so flat in the sun. Probably shows the dust a lot less too. Maybe doesn't pop like the red, but I like the way you can see all the creases and curves with the metallic paint.
