RU-vid uploads should make this video compulsory viewing. Not because it's apposite necessarily but because I'm a burgeoning totalitarian and the thought of making people watch this amuses me greatly. It's almost like a mirror above a latrine or on the back of a toilet door - a nice ego-checker. It's a love-letter to humanity that reads: "Delusions of grandeur? Here's a pinch of introspection for you. But it's okay. I love you anyway." After all the shit I see these day from quasi-sentient egomaniacs online, this... *this* is art. I'm quite enjoying the Lord of The Rings TV show. It's like I'm reading the Simarillion all over again, but now, you know, with moving images and sound. And what the Queen was doing in Balmora? Doesn't she knows that Dark Elves are a wicked sort? No wonder she wound up dead.
Rings of Power isn't actually a Silmarillion show, funnily enough. They don't have the rights to that. The entire show is just based on a couple poems and lore factoids about the Second Age that are mentioned in the text and/or appendices of the LOTR trilogy.
@@Hugsloth yes, like I said its like reading it again, mostly due to the prose and characters. It just feel closer to the books than Jackson's trilogy. Its also based on The History of Middle Earth, not just some poems.

I often speak with people in Australia who use a VPN in order to play poker online as it is regionally blocked (I don't because those sites are mostly scams and full of cheaters). Another non-dodgy reason would include getting around regional restrictions/blocks in regards to media, such as video streaming sites (even youtube in some cases). On the topic of pirating, my 60 year old mum pirates movies and shows quite frequently without a VPN and I have no problem with that as she works a horrible job in aged care nursing and gets paid around the same as a McDonald's employee. So, everyone, think about the kind of love and care that gets put into your next McDonald's cheeseburger and then picture yourself as that cheeseburger in 50 years... Wait what were we talking about... Oh right VPNs... Yeah I kind of do hope they have been compromised by intelligence agencies as some seriously disturbed people have been using them to commit all sorts of horrid crimes for years, and frankly I also hope the companies enabling that kind of stuff get their comeuppance too. Sent from my smouldering trashcan.
